Little Bloom Child Development Center

I have had two children at La Crèche (now Little Bloom) and over the last three years have had a child in every classroom. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the way the center is run. My children are safe, loved, and learning. For infants and toddlers there is lots of communication about how they are doing each day. For pre-​k kids there are lots of arts, crafts, music, hand writing, letter and number recognition, early math and reading, and plenty of outside play time. My son is in kindergarten this year and was well-​prepared for elementary school by the teachers in the Butterfly class. My very different children both thrived there and the teachers adapted to their difference personalities and needs. Ms. Kyra and Ms. Reyhan are professional, compassionate, and know how to handle all the different issues that come up in caring for little kids. I had my children at two different in-​home day cares before coming here and I am so glad that we found Little Bloom.

Our kid Oliver has been going to La Crèche (now Little Bloom) since he was 2, and we have no reservation in recommending the place. Kids with diverse backgrounds, great daily activities, constant communication, and additional programs such as Mini Soccer and Music classes so you don’t need to hunt for those on weekends. Oliver is always looking forward to seeing his friends each day and can’t stop telling us what happened at school as soon as we pick him up.

Just checking in to report that our (now) threenagers are still here. We love this place, and have been here for 3+ years, despite our ridiculous commute. I took a few tours of other places because it would have been so much more convenient for us to move them to a daycare north of here, but we just love it here too much.
Ms. Kyra and staff still do an amazing job. I no longer get poop & pee reports because the kids are older, but I love that I get a daily summary of what they did. They also provide weekly pictures of the kids in their class — highlight of my week.

I went on a tour about eight months ago, since my little one was due, I had to send the older one to school. I liked the school since everything seemed nice and cute. They also have cameras system and everything looks safe. I almost decided to send that my older one in until I saw a review here. You can scroll back to see the review if you want details. This school has several violations, And after I read those violations I realized I did not see One single exit To get out during an emergency. They only had two exits and it took long time to go out during the tour. There are other violations as well, parents, please do not send your kids here unless they solved all the violations! Safety issue is the most important thing for kids!!!

My 4-​year-​old preschooler has been at La Crèche for over two years and my toddler has been there for a year, so I have experience with four of the five of the classrooms in the center. All of the teachers have been kind and personally interested in my kids’ development.
My oldest daughter has learned so much in her time at La Crèche. She has known her numbers and letters for a while now, and I feel like she is well on her way to reading.
Each week, the kids focus on a different theme. The girls bring home great art projects and play outside multiple times each day. The center currently also offers music and soccer class options from outside groups for the older kids. My older daughter wants her teachers to come over to our house and play, which is a testament to how much she loves them!
I really liked the use of Baby Connect for the infants. I was able to communicate with the caregivers online and see when my baby ate, slept, etc. We also receive weekly classroom reports with pictures via email for both children.
The center is very open and secure, which reassured me after having a safety concern at a previous in-​home daycare. The hours are 7 am-​6 pm – convenient for working parents. Ms. Kyra, the Program Director, is organized and responsive.
All in all, we have really enjoyed having our children cared for at La Crèche!

We still love La Crèche! Our son has now progressed from the infant room (up to 13 months) to the toddler room (1 – 2 yrs) and we couldn’t be happier. Every morning when I walk in, no fewer than five employees greet my son by name. I have no idea how most of these ladies know my son, but they clearly do, and seem genuinely happy to see him.
I feel like I won the lottery with La Crèche. The instructors genuinely care for the kids, they have an amazing child-​to-​teacher ratio, and I regularly see Ms. Kyra (who runs the facility) sitting on the floor and playing with children. All the parents I’ve ever spoken with feel the same — I’ve not had a single negative experience, or heard of anyone having one.
I’m a bit amazed that the average rating is not significantly higher; it’s probably a case of upset people being more motivated to post reviews. Regarding the review that says they overheard instructors yelling at children at the playground — I think the reviewer must have been mistaken. I drop in during playground time all the time, and have only ever seen instructors playing with children, pulling them into the shade and pouring then cups of water if it’s hot, and just generally being very hands on and diligent.

This review is based on what I was hearing standing in the Joann’s parking lot next door.
I think it must have been lunch or outside play time. I stood there for 10 min listening to one of the teachers yelling at a child or a few children. It was not an appropriate type of yelling for a «caretaker» or teacher or even a parent. I would be completely appalled if someone yelled at my kids like that. I’ve yelled at my kids but nothing like that. I can’t remember the exact words but it was how she was yelling at them, very aggressive and borderline abusive. Maybe it was a bad day, but that alone would make me send my kids somewhere else.

I can’t say enough great things about this daycare! Le Crèche is wonderful– loving teachers, clean space, learning based, creative, and well run. I was very hesitant going back to work and putting my daughter in a daycare. I didn’t think she might get the same attention that a nanny/​share might provide. I was so wrong! Starting at 1 yrs old they start repetition daily of the alphabet, numbers, animals, etc. I was so impressed when she came home one day and recited her numbers up to 15. My husband and I couldn’t believe it! They play music a lot throughout the day and allow the children to sing and dance. My daughter now knows all of the nursery songs and will break out singing one randomly the days we have off. Not only has she learned so much but I know that when I drop my daughter off she is in good hands. The teachers truly love all the kids in their class. As do they love all the kids in the daycare– my daughter was greeted daily by teachers from all the classes not just her own. Ms. Kyra (director) runs a well-​oiled machine and is highly responsive, organized, and kind. I trust and respect Le Crèche as I know running a daycare is not an easy task and am happy to answer any questions that anyone might have.

We fired our last child care place (no names) and moved here. AMAZING. VERY HAPPY. Highly Recommend. Before signing up, we checked them out with the State of California. They are well licensed, bonded and insured as you would expect. They have a few minor violations but they are totally upfront about any violations and are proactive about fixing any violations they may have been cited for.

This is long overdue… but be wary of sending your child to LeCreche CDC.
We were one of the first families who enrolled there. There was a tonne of turnover and we were told it is like a fast food restaurant with respect to turnover at child care centers.
There were significant violations which we were never made aware of even though it is supposed to be posted for all parents to see, in fact some were so severe, it required parents to sign that they had read the reports.
We only came to find out about these violations because we initiated a complaint to the State License board because our son was injured at the facility.

My son has been going here for almost two months and I am very pleased with the daycare. They do educational programs for infants so as an educator myself I am happy with that. Secondly, they are clean, they follow parents directions for the care of their young children and they are all friendly. I stop in sometimes early than my usual pick up time and they are always accommodating. They are organized and well put together. Prior to this my son was in a home care and I was not pleased with the organization. Applause! Applause! Applause for this daycare! They also use an app that lets you check in on your infant. Awesome!

I will echo others’ reviews in that there have to have been significant changes since the 1-​star ratings on here.
We have had our daughter at La Crèche for about a year now, and have been very happy. We started her in the Toddler room and have just transitioned her to the older kids class. I think the fact that we want her to continue at La Crèche is a good indicator.
Our daughter always has a great time. She’s always in a great mood when I pick her up at the end of the day and she’s always happy to go see her friends and teachers. They always seem to be doing fun Arts and Crafts projects and I really do like both their inside and outside play areas.
We feel like we get great feedback from all her teachers and they are genuinely concerned about her well-​being.
I do like that they create and send home lesson plans and I can tell a difference on the days she goes to La Crèche. She seems to pick up new words (good ones) all the time and is able to identify objects and things that we haven’t taught her so she can only be learning them from La Crèche. On top of that, there’s not a single TV in all of La Crèche so they can’t be turning that on as a babysitter. Also, they’re helping her go through potty-​training which reinforces the work we do at home. Again, all positive.
I feel that my daughter is safe at La Crèche, which was important to me. They have a code activated front door and have recently installed cameras in (I think) all the rooms.
Do go see La Crèche for yourselves and talk to the teachers and even some of the parents. We have referred friends and they love it as well.

My son has been at La Crèche for a little over a year (from 4 months to 18 months). We pulled him out only because we moved, and I cried when we left!
The teachers here care very much for the children, and the director is actively involved in all of the rooms. Are there things I would change? Of course, I’m a mom who is always looking for any little thing that could be better. But let’s be honest … no place is ever going to be perfect!
The facility is great and has lots of natural light. There is a private playground where the kids go out several times a day. There are security cameras and a keycode entry (standard, I know, but pointing out the security level. Baby activity is logged online, so you can see all day long what your infant is doing (a big comfort for a first time parent). And they are incredibly accommodating to scheduling needs (we went part time for a period), unlike many other daycares.
Regarding the change in staff, yes there is a new director and several new teachers — but they’re great (and contrary to what the previous reviewer said about being someplace better — let me just comment that I’ve seen some of the old teachers come back for visits).
I’ve called about violations and talked with the folks … I encourage you to do the same. It’s standard procedure for any daycare. The violations were explained to me and I felt better afterwards. I was not scared away.
Bottom line: I’d advise against reading reviews for a daycare — go and see the place for yourself. That’s what sold me and my husband on La Crèche.

We sent our 9-​months-​old girl there in March. She got used to it in a week and love going there ever since. We notice that she becomes more social and learn things faster.
Below are the areas I like most about them —
1) Babies activities are logged online (BIG applause)
In the infant room, the teachers logged all the babies’ activities during their stay at
. It is a huge plus for working mom like me. I will go there and interact with the teacher. The teacher will jot down the time they fed the baby, when they changed diapers and when the baby went to take a nap.
2) Teaching materials are presented to parents
They also have a printed class agenda pass out every week.
3) Spacious
I especially like the spacious room they provide for the babies. They can freely crawl around in there and explore with the teachers’ supervision.
4) Teachers are patient and honest
The teachers in the infant room always give us timely feedback about how our daughter is doing; sometimes there are minor accidents happened, they will inform us on a piece of paper.
So far, it has been a good 4.5 months! I’d say I am pretty satisfied with their care and love. Hope you find the same.

Our daughter has been attending La Crèche since September of 2011. Although we read the previous reviews, our tour with at the school, led by Miss Kyra eased many of our concerns. Apparently, the school is under new management (Miss Reyhan) with a new director (Miss Kyra). Since our daughter started, there have been many changes. All for the better!
Instead of boring you with details of the past, I want to focus on the present. Currently, there are three classes for children 2 – 5 years old. Younger 2’s are with Miss Heidi who started in December 2011. She is a very caring teacher and attentive to the children’s needs. She has a ton of energy, always has a positive attitude and our daughter just loves her.
Older 2’s and younger 3’s are with Miss Amy. This is where our daughter is now. I think that Miss Amy started in late April 2012 and she has been wonderful. Being a parent herself, she understands our needs. On Mondays, when children are a little more clingy during drop-​off time because of the long weekend, she has repeately stepped in to help us get to work on time. Instead of spending 1 hour dropping off our daughter, Miss Amy willing takes our daughter from our leg and holds her until she calms down. Miss Amy has also brought a structure to the children’s day that has helped our daughter to grow mentally and creatively. Every week they have show and tell based on a letter of the alphabet, they do crafts daily and she is always trying to expose our daughter to new things.
The pre-​school class is lead by Miss Rebecca, who started in late April 2012. As much as we love Miss Amy, we’re also excited about having our daughter join Miss Rebecca’s class when she is old enough. Like Miss Amy, Miss Rebecca’s class is well structured. Not military structured where kids have no fun, but structured in a way where they can have fun while learning.
In addition to those three lead teachers, Miss Helen, Miss Lara and Miss Gamze take care of the children. Unlike other schools, where we observed that teachers only watched over the children, the teachers at La Crèche interact with the children. Playing games with them, doing puzzles with them, and having fun with the children.
The most telling sign that our daughter enjoys her time at La Crèche is that at the end of the day, she gives each of her teachers a big hug good-​bye. We definitely have no concerns about the care of our precious daughter while she is at La Crèche.

Our child has been going to La Crèche since she was nine months old. She was present during while the rocky road that is described in some of the reviews was occurring. It was a strange time for La Crèche and I too had my reservations but, we chose to keep our daughter there because of two main things:
1) babyconnect — the «app» that the La Crèche infant room uses which allowed me to know exactly what is going on with my daughter every second of the day — if she pooped; how long she slept; when she had a bottle; how much she drank, etc. (I could even print out information from the app to take to the Dr. when she did get sick or for check ups. Its the next best thing to a web cam).
2) The core teachers who did stay when times were tough.(Ms. Kristin, Ms. Esther, Ms. Helen, Ms. Sally, Ms. Vicky, and Ms. Maggie! to name a few)
As you either know, or will soon experience (since you are looking for a childcare center), its incredibly hard to leave your child with someone. But, when you do and that child doesn’t cry but rather smiles at the person you are leaving her with and hugs or cuddles into that person… or when you come in for a lunch time visit, or to pick your child up in the afternoon and he/​she is being rocked to sleep; playing happily amongst her circle time friends; or sitting at the semi-​circle eating station smiling and laughing with the other children… its hard to move away, despite the ‘administrative challenges’.
Those challenges appear to be a thing of the past and we are glad that we stayed.
Our 19 month old now knows the minute we loop off the freeway that we are going to school and she begins to say her teachers and classmates names. She runs from the car to the door of the school and when she is inside she darts into Ms. Maggie’s warm embrace.
At night when we pick her up, we are greeted by happy children, friendly families, and warm teachers who call us by name and gleeful daughter who is singing new songs (or trying to — the cadence is there but an occasional word may be missing), blowing kisses to her teachers and friends at school, giving hugs and waving bye-​bye.
Each Sunday we receive a sweet e-​newsletter from the new director, Ms Kyra, about important updates and information as well as what is happening this week and what happened in the last.
Choosing a childcare center is a tough decision, I think you will be pleased with all La Crèche has to offer. We are.

Our daughter is 14 months old and she has been in the care of the wonderful caregivers at La Crèche since she was 4 months old. We were recommended to La Crèche by two separate families who have their children at La Crèche. We as first time parents did our research of Daycare providers in the area and we ultimately did decided on La Crèche for our daughter who absolutely ADORES her time there! First off the layout and design is SO fun! There is a submarine play structure inside the Preschool and all sorts of different fun little vignette areas for the kids to play and explore.
I do agree that La Crèche has had its share of growing pains over the 10 months we have been enrolled but with that having been said we could not have asked for anything more from our Daycare. There is always an open line of communication in our experience with the Owner Reyhan when we have had questions. The caregivers in the infant room always made me feel comfortable and I knew that my daughter was well cared for as I always watched her smile and open her arms to a very special caregiver Miss Ester! La Crèche has a fantastic IPad application called
that offers real time reporting of what our little one was up to throughout the day from bottles/​feedings, naps, diaper changes even milestones as well as an open line of communication thru a text feature that allows you to communicate directly with the caregiver just to see how/​what she was up to. It was/​is an absolute life line for parents like us who both need to work and really want to know up to the minute what our little one was doing all day. Now that our little one has transitioned to the Toddler room she spends her time walking, singing, talking, playing, arts and crafts as well as a playground on property for the kids to enjoy! Again a few special caregivers in there Miss Sally and Miss Helen who truly love their work and our little one calls for them and reaches out to them every morning! Our daughter has grown and developed hugely due to the loving care that she has received from her caregivers, she totally lights up when she sees us pulling up to the front doors of La Crèche. We could not be more thankful than to know that our child is in a place where she feels safe and is loved both at home and by her family at La Crèche. Hope this helps all of you expectant parents out there! :0)

Updated 3÷2÷11: A bit of background — we were visiting La Crèche in October with the intent of enrolling our son, as we’d already toured before and had several lengthy discussions with Robin Sterns. To be frank, we loved the place and were happy to have made a decision. We would have already completed the paperwork and sent in a check, but Robin suggested we go in and meet with Malika. The day we visited, Malika presented herself as an owner.
What is also left out of the original review (I’ve left it untouched below) is that the conversation with Malika went so poorly, and she became so abrasive with us, that we found ourselves asking her to please stop yelling at us and left (mid tour) as she continued to yell at us about drop side cribs. I cried in the car after we left, completely dumbfounded by the treatment we’d received. In my 39 years, I’ve never seen anything like it.

This center was previously called Little City Kids, and changed names around 12÷1÷10. It’s interesting that they were a franchise of Little City. I visited the Le Crèche Center prior to the name change, but Malika (now the owner) was present, and the staff is the same.
The infants room has drop side cribs, made by Angeles. When we inquired about this with Malika on a TOUR, she:
— said had never heard of the recall of many drop side cribs (that has had national coverage since about 10÷22÷10)
— did not know what a drop side crib was; we had to explain what we were talking about
— told us we were wrong and that the cribs were safe and that the state had certified them just last week.
— argued with us about how wrong we were about drop side cribs and the possible safety concerns
— told us that the cribs were $ 1000 each and that there is no way they could have been recalled because they were bought in May of this year
We’d spoken with the previous owner about the cribs and she had assured us that they would be updating the cribs to reflect the new concerns about the safety of drop sides. This was in August. Nothing has been updated.
Moreover, we saw 3 babies sleeping on their stomachs in the infant room in the brief amount of time we were there. The American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended that babies be placed on their back to sleep since 1994 because of SIDS concerns:

Because I was curious, I researched and found that cribs that this facility has are not, in fact, $ 1000 cribs. They are $ 254 on sale at Amazon:
(updated 1÷26÷12: this crib has now been removed from Amazon because it no longer meets current safety standards).
I’d steer clear. I got the impression that the staff does not stay up to date with current issues around infant care, especially around safety. Malika was abrasive, confrontational, and yelled at us in front of her staff and the babies that were in the room. It was completely unprofessional.

It was really hard for us to feel okay with leaving my son at any preschool because he’s extremely shy and really attached to us and I felt like that was going to be a big problem. Even though it took him a little while to get used to it he eventually made friends and since he’s been here he’s learned a lot and it amazes me. These teachers give each child the individual attention they need and that really brings me peace of mind and now my son wants to go to school everyday! no joke and best of all he really loves his teachers and I feel these teachers genuinely love them back as well.
My son loves the school and with their help, he’s become quite the chatter box. This is the boy who started with 10 words! I like the fact that he gets a lot of chances to make choices and then other times of structure. We get a lot of feedback about his development. I’m so glad the Little City Kids is part of our family. :)

This is a great place for children. My family is very happy with the choice we made — to transfer our 2 years old daughter. Since then she has been healthier and happier. We are sure that he gets the right attention and attitude and she can grow playing a lot and expressing her individual needs. The staff really cares a lot about the children and they are very friendly
