Doesn’t answer phone or return calls

Juan and his team are fast, affordable and do high quality work. Juan is also a super nice, genuine and friendly guy that you will enjoy talking to and dealing with. You can trust Juan and his team. They did a variety of things for my Burlingame house including: building a wooden step, repairing some tiling on my front deck, installing blinds, repairing door frame and latch and numerous other things. I’ll definitely hire Juan again. Note to those who left low ratings — you just need to be persistent in emailing /​calling Juan and he will get back to you. He is worth the extra effort.

How do you get this guy to call back? I have tried calling and leaving voicemails with my name and phone number on at least 3 different occasions. No call back. I give up.

I called Juan late in the day and he stopped by on his way home and completely fixed an electrical problem. He is prompt, thorough and very professional. I will continue to use his services and spread the word to my acquaintances.

Solid work. Perfectly repainted our living room white (three coats to cover some very dark colors) and creatively repaired and reinstalled the curtains, all in a day’s work and for a reasonable price.

Would I recommend Juan Carlos? Hell yeah.
Super efficient work, courteous and great pricing to boot. He ran wiring and installed two exterior lights and a ceiling fan in an afternoon with two helpers and everything looks terrific. And after they were done, the areas around where they worked on were actually cleaner than before.
I also greatly appreciated that he was ready to go on a few days notice. I honestly can’t think of a single complaint about him, his crew our his work. He’s found himself a repeat customer.

We first got introduced to Juan and his team (Salvador and Javier), when we wanted to update our small downstairs powder room. He completely updated the room within two weeks. Floors, vanity, paint — you name it — DONE. This built our confidence in Juan and so we took on the upstairs main bathroom. It was more complex and involved raising ceilings, new floor, tub, and another vanity… We felt like a pro when we were ordering material because Juan and his team made it so easy. This one was done within a month. Two bathrooms completely made over within a couple months and within budget — what?! So why not bring on the master bath too? Juan and his team took a 70s throwback master bath and made it exceptional. My husband and I went slightly overboard with our reno design and really challenged Juan to work with every type of material and some unique design approaches. It is my favorite room now. Heated floors, steam, glass tile walls — sooooooo pretty and Juan and his crew made it all possible. I also work from home and so was originally concerned with the construction and constant activity. They were respectful, clean and very conscientious. Five stars and would recommend this crew in a second!

Nobody wants to hear details of home repairs, so I’ll stick to the highlights — well, it was ALL highlights.
1) On time
2) Considerate to my neighbors in our very limited parking gated community — put a sign on his car telling where he was and moved his car as needed for others twice.
3) Fast. Completed over a dozen various jobs in less than 2 ½ hours.
4) Skilled, accurate, thinks and improvises on his feet, and his improvs are better than the originals.
5) Impeccable about cleanup.
6) Friendly, good-​humored, perfect English, very little accent.
7) Nice about my awful Spanish, not to mention my forgetting to wish him a happy Cinco de Mayo.
8) Worked around my physical limitations, deafness, oxygen equipment. I’m not as careful as he was.
9) Didn’t need to this time, but said he will buy parts/​replacements/​etc. from Home Depot, won’t charge you for the time (he works on a black-​box per-​job rate anyway). I’d want to compensate him for the extra driving and shopping time, so I told him that if I ever needed him to do that, I’d pay him 10% over the receipts he brings for his trouble. He grinned ear-​to-​ear at that one. Me, too — I’d rather give him five or ten over what he buys than the 1 – 2 hour hourly charges I’ve been stung with by other handymen.
10) Certainly NEVER had as good an experience with a previously unknown handyman, but that doesn’t go far enough. I’ve rarely had ANY kind of professional service experience as good as Juan Carlos. TEN stars — at least!

Juan is super!!! He is very responsive, he came on time and the price is super reasonable. One time he came to my house and I was late so he left my house. I thought he would be unhappy, but he was nice to forgive me and came back the next day to fix my drapery rod. Thank you Juan! you deserve a 5 star!!!

Juan has helped me with projects including electrical, painting and plumbing repairs at our house for the past 3 years. He is honest, knowledgable and hard working. His prices are very fair. If looking for a handyman, do not hesitate to call Juan.

We needed someone to repair one of the sliding doors in our bathroom and also the electrical sockets in our kitchen. Juan worked on them really fast (within an hour). In between he even went and got the necessary stuff required for fixing the sockets from a nearby shop! He works really fast and does a really good job of it too! His prices were really reasonable. We are super impressed with his work and would highly recommend him to anyone!

So, so very happy with all of Juan Carlos’ work. Very quick, knowledgeable and friendly. I needed a toilet seat replaced, curtain rod put up, cabinet door hinge repaired and light installation in my closet. All done in under an hour, including running to the store to buy the light installation pieces. Very pleased with his work and relieved to have someone reliable to work with. :) :)

He works super fast and is super efficient. He hung towel bars, fixed curtain rods and fixed the bathroom walls that were bubbling with moisture.
He’s easy to get in touch with and prices himself reasonably.
He’s very near and precise. I would totally recommend him.

Count me as another happy customer. I walked Juan through my long list of items, and he was very up front about which ones he was qualified to do well (repairing a tree house) and which ones needed a specialist (installing a new garage door opener).
He would notify me via email what days he was going to come, he purchased his own materials and provided me with receipts for everything. He gave good estimates and stuck to them. The work was high quality and fairly priced. He even came out several times to finish a job without charging me extra, even when it was my fault that I didn’t buy enough materials to finish it.
I can’t recommend him highly enough. It really makes me happy to see somebody take such pride in his work.

I was referred to Juan by a friend who has been using his services for years, and is very happy with every repair or upgrade he has done to her home. He was able to make a home visit (San Francisco) the day after I contacted him, he arrived on time, and quickly repaired the closet hamper problem I had. He was professional, honest, and creative about finding a solution to the problem. He offers competitive prices, does quality work, cleaned up after
he had finished the repair, all in less than 20 minutes! I plan to use Juan’s services again in the future!!!

I found Juan on Unilocal (thank you, fellow Unilocalers!) to fix a faulty bathroom door. Juan arrived promptly on time as promised, was completely respectful and HONEST to the point of disbelief!!! I am so amazed and relieved to see that honesty still exists in the service industry. I am definitely calling Juan to fix anything in my home and will recommend him to all my friends. I would give him more than a 5-​star rating if I could.
AMAZING & AWESOME!

I chose Juan over three other bids, primarily for price, but also because of his great reviews on Unilocal!He remodeled our small bathroom (new marble tile floor and shower walls, new tub, toilet, lighting, fan, hardware) in just over a week. He and his crew, especially his tile guys, did a great job!
He gave a verbal quote after looking at the bathroom and my list of things i wanted done. In the end, I paid exactly what he quoted plus receipts for items he had to purchase on his own.
He’s busy, so exact start times in the mornings are whenever, but he’ll call you if he’s running late, so all good.
The best part about using Juan and his crew is that they’re a really nice guys, and are always polite. I’ve even made breakfast for the crew a few times.
Now I want him to do our kitchen!

I’ve seen what Juan has done to Helen F’s place… and I was really impressed! I didn’t need Juan for remodeling but needed him for simple jobs around the house.
Juan is responsive to phone calls and does a great job. I agree with Cindy C, our glowing Unilocal reviews will keep him and his team very busy but that won’t deter me from calling him for future projects.

Juan’s pretty amazing.
I was at Helen F.‘s new house and complimenting her on the great remodeling job, and, next thing I knew, I was getting my house painted (exterior). He used high quality paint and his team showed knowledge and skills. Oh, and he was priced reasonably.
Juan’s team did a great job. They were on time and accommodating. Not really sure if I want to be writing this review since it’ll only make him more busy, and possibly harder for me to book! I’m already thinking of the next project, and will definitely update this review when I do!
