H&R Block

Disappointed with their tax software. So lame, Cannot get online help. Waited over 30 minute to chat, no one came on. You guys should leave tax software to software experts. You obviously have not mastered it. I hope it isn’t the same software in their tax shops. You will never get your taxes finished.

INESSA Auerbuch, was my tax consultant for the last 3 tax pay seasons.
She did my tax return process easy and 100%accurate.
I did have tax consultants in the past providing me false information, making me & my family pay over $ 3000.00
& &50.00 extra on tax fee because tax people DID NOT KNOW certain laws an about federal poverty line etc…
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE EXPERT when you go through tax return process.
& INESSA is an expert!
She speaks few languages and now she is An Master Tax Advisor.
Which is important when it comes to experience and knowledge.
My Master Tax Advisor (now I can say my going 3^rd year in a row)
is a very interesting person to talk while you are sitting in a chair waiting for process being done. My 25 min flew like it was 5 minutes.
In a term of refund it was pretty efficient too. In 9 day I got my refund back :-)

My wife and I have been seeing Larry Wayne for several years, and he’s a great person to work with. He takes his time and always tries to figure out if there are ways he can save you money on your taxes. We look forward to seeing Larry and catching up with him each year. We probably spend the first 30 minutes each year just shooting the breeze as he is a delight to be around. The staff in general always seem friendly, but specifically, I highly recommend Larry!

if you are thinking of going to this H&R Block, ask for Ai Shih (pronounced eye-​shee). She did my taxes this year and last year with no problem. I got my return within a week. Ai Shih is very professional and last year when I had to deal with a foreclosure. she explained everything to me in great detail. I also had my first baby and she was able to help me decide on how to claim him and so forth. Definitely going to Ai Shih and this branch again.

I don’t know why this place isn’t rated better. My taxes were done quick and all I had to pay was $ 85! I will highly tell all my friends about them, they offer free coffee and water!

I had high hopes coming into H&R Block to get a professional service that would maximize on my return.
First for the company: I filed with H&R Block in southern California back in 2008 and the tax professional was great. This is the only reason that I’m giving this company 2 stars. On the other hand I should write two separate reviews, one for this branch and one for the SoCal branch, however I want to show the marked difference between the two. Back in 2008 I had a tax return that I considered to be complicated and was prepared to pay for the services provided but she (I can’t remember her name) took one look at it and said this is so simple I wouldn’t feel right charging you for this. I thanked her profusely, got my money and went on my way.
Now for the difference. This year the entire chain of H&R Block was offering free 1040EZ exchanges and thinking about my prior experience decided that because I’m horrible at math and this year NEED any positive return due to the fact that I was laid off this year, I returned. I made sure several times to let them know (4 that i can remember) that I was only interested in the free 1040EZ service. But Nicholas K, my assigned tax preparer kept mentioning something about $ 40 and I kept telling him that I was only interested in the free service. Something seemed deceptive.
Next for Nicholas himself. I ended up owing the IRS a couple hundred dollars which I know I was visibly upset about because as I said, I NEEDED money back. He made some adjustments and got it down to 107, but he kept insisting on working on the state taxes which turns out to be the $ 40 fee that he kept making mention to. For state taxes I ended up owing $ 7 and after finally made it very clear to him that I don’t want to pay $ 40 just to pay another $ 7 he finally dropped it. I told him I’m pretty sure I could figure it out at home by myself and save the $ 40. He then proceeded to make jokes about how I have to pay my taxes or the men in black will come in the middle of the night and steal my cat or whatever else they could get their hands on.
I know there are worse things than being laid off, broke, in debt and hoping for a return but finding out you owe a total of $ 114, but Nicholas’s behavior was uncalled for and just made me feel worse.
