I hate to do this but after 20 plus years of giving Cobbler’s Bench my business I have to find another shoe repair. Many years ago, about 15 give or take the husband moved his practice up to the city. The wife still takes the shoes and her husband fixes them but I find that only half of the information gets passed along and she doesn’t take any notes. The last ½ dozen times I have taken shoes or boots they do one of the two or three things that needs to be done and charge the price as if all of it was done. I brought in boots last week and said the sole has worn down so much that both the toe and the heel is just in the baby stages of wearing down. So I asked for the toe and heal to be reinforced. And she said they would polish them. So the heal was reinforced, nothing was done to the toe and they were not polished. This happens each time. The wife needs to at least take notes so she is properly passing along the info. The husband does great work but when you cannot speak with him directly it makes things far too difficult and not everything is completed.

I brought some shoes in here to see if they could shorten the heels on them. They’re fabulous shoes but kind of high and I’m wearing them to my brother’s wedding so I want to be able to walk around and dance! Sadly, the nice lady behind the counter said they could only take off ¼ inch and it probably wouldn’t be worth it. I appreciated her honesty and that she didn’t pressure me to do it. Looks like they’re an alterations/dry cleaning place too, I’ll bring my bridesmaid dress here.
