Chase Bank

Chase was a breeze to do my CC payment. street parking just happened to pop up. noticed
parking lot in back later. looked totally full.
just 3 stars, looks like a busy place normally. only one friendly teller on duty.

3 stars is as high a rating I can give for this location for 2 reasons…
#1. They have a punk drive through. Meaning, they have what looks to be a drive through lane and window capabilities, yet there is no actual drive through for some inexplicable reason. Why you punkin’ me Chase San Mateo?
#2. On the 2 occasions I’ve been here to use their notary service, whomever seems to be their single notary has been out or in a meeting.
Not super convenient for a place I only go to for convenience.

I visit this Chase location about once a month to do some financial transactions and have always felt welcomed. Their customer service is definitely on par. Every time I enter this branch, the regular employees know my name. It definitely helps you build a relationship and helps to feel like you’re coming in the branch to see someone you know. Every time I have an issue, concern, or question the employees at this branch are always quick to help.
The only thing I can really say about this location is that if you go during peak times, their parking can be kind of a pain. Their parking lot is rather small so you really have to keep an eye out for the car parking next to you or the car reversing out.

Can’t comment on the tellers because I only come here for the ATMs.
This Chase is the closest branch to my house and I come at least once a week. Safer to come in the day, whether it’s for the tellers or ATM, because…
Typical Chase Bank that shares its parking lot in the back with closed Benjamin Moore. Because parking is all the way in the back, it’s pretty unsafe to park and walk up to the front. Surrounding area is pretty quiet. I wouldn’t recommend any females to come at night to park in its lot. There are also a lot of vehicles from across the street’s apartment complexes that park there at night as well. You could get purse snatch or worse if someone opens the door of the van and… well, we’ll leave it there for your imagination.

I just deposited over $ 8000 in checks with Evelin and she was totally inept and rude. She didn’t ask the right questions and was confused which account to deposit my checks into. She even lied to make herself sound smart and said that my ATM Card doesn’t link to my accounts when she later and clearly admitted she «didn’t see it». Makes me nervous having a teller like Evelin deal with my money. Listen girl, you are teller… I’m pretty sure your main job is accredited by your customer service skills. Oh and it’s ok to put on a smile when I was clearly trying to be nice to you.

Pretty convenient location as it is right next to the mall, don’t know why they have all the tellers booth have fully bullet proof glass in front of it meaning it’s safe or has a lot of break ins but never had problems with them and have very friendly people

Very helpful and friendly staff. Came in here for my first time to inquire and they were all super attentive, explained well, and great! I also hear many good things about this branch from other people.

2 stars because the manager or assist manager was really helpful. There was a Filipino guy standing in the front greeting people as they walked in. He started to talk to me about sports while I was in line, probably because I had a 49ers hat on. It was my turn to go to the counter so off I headed. The same guy walks behind the counter to where I was and started to look at my account and ask me questions. He asked me where did I get laid of from? I wanted to call my employer and ask them if i was still employed because it looked like he had information about me that i did not know. Are you serious? 1. You had no business looking at my account or what I was doing. And 2. It is non of your business to ask me questions that do not pertain to what I was there for.
I was disappointed that the assist manager didn’t tell him to go away. I never have any issues when I go to the chase in the shopping center near Safeway in San Mateo. I will just go there from now on

I like this branch a lot! The employees are VERY friendly and helpful. When you walk in there’s always someone there to greet and direct you. Another plus is that I’ve it has never been busy while I was there. I don’t know if it’s because there are so many Chase locations now, or if they’re staff is just awesome. But for the employees’ sake, let’s just say that it’s the second one.
I actually almost closed my account with Chase because they were charging me some stupid fee that I didn’t know about for several months, but one of the managers went out of his way and credited my account for all the months that they charged me, so corporate should be proud of their employees here!
I wish I still lived at the Hillsdale Garden Apartments because it is walking distance, but I make a point to visit this location whenever I need assistance from a teller.

I was really pleased with the level of service I received here. I used to work at a bank myself (different company), and if we had offered the level of service I got at Chase, I would probably still work there. 5 stars all the way. I have and will continue to recommend my friends to Chase, and this branch in particular.

After working at a bank myself I know what to expect and what not to. These guys are friendly but not very knowledgeable. I had to wait 20 min. For someone that knew how to set up auto pay. And they can never seem to find my account. Sorry but they won’t get my business.

Now, Washington Mutual (now Chase) hates me. I seriously have to be the one of the worst customers ever because I conduct many many transactions (granted all electronic and probably «cost-​free») and always leave very little balance in my checking account (usually one penny).
Whenever I walk into this branch, I am always greeted by friendly staff. Teller operation supervisor (I can’t remember her name… darn) is also very nice here. I like them all. What else do you want from a banking branch? :-)

After going to BoA, I stopped by here to have my name changed and also to add hubby onto my account. Seriously, there is something really different about WaMus and BoAs… their focus is really customer service, and our representative was very polite, which is what I expect. Atmosphere is way better, and there was even music playing in the background. Another staff member who wasn’t even helping us said «hi» with a smile, so yeah, this is what I expect and appreciate. The guy even congratulated us for being recently married. =) Maybe one thing that someone else might have found a bit offensive was the term «Homemaker» under my current occupation, as I am currently unemployed… but, ehhh, that’s what I do at the time being, so I can’t deny that…

Original review TWO STARS:
This is a brand spanking new WAMU location and I was so happy to have an alternative to the Borel Square shop. Nice new interior with all of the wamu bells and whistles.
Went in to make a quick deposit and was greeted (**stop** No, actually she didn’t even look at me or say hello) by a CUSTOMER (that would be me) SERVICE (**stop** Heck, she was prolly checking her email… when I asked a question she ignored me until I tapped my toes) REPRESENTATIVE (wamu, get a better rep!). After my deposit she just WALKED AWAY from me without a thank you or goodbye. Nothing.
We all deserve some grace as everyone has bad days; believe me I know this. Maybe she was having a really horrid day, but I have to say this gal was downright snotty. I get more love from an ATM that is low on paper, been used all weekend by total strangers, and by Monday morning is covered in garbage and smudge marks.

I went in today and Sister Meanie Pants was not around. Two nice young gents helped me and were super duper courteous. Up to four stars you go!
