Cafe 2k

Some of the best spots to eat are the best Hidden. A gem in the financial buildings off 92 completely unheard of by most. The wraps are to die for, menu’s updated and add specials daily, sandwiches are just bomb, ect ect not enough good things can be said. Friendly staff that is always smiling and makes time to get to know you if you come often. One of my favorite stops for lunch when I have a day off to enjoy

I happened to be in the business complex on a fluke and was hungry/​bored, so I decided to order a bagel with cream cheese. It was the typical mediocre California bagel (nothing like New York) and the price itself was decent.
The lady, who seemed like she ran things at the café, was very friendly. The thing that threw me off and warranted this 2-​star rating was the fact that the person preparing my bagel and cream cheese wasn’t wearing gloves. Not cool.

I came here because I was early to a doctors appointment and really wanted a bagel. They had a sign that said Bagel with Salmon& Cream Cheese for $ 3. It seemed too good to be true, then I was told it wasn’t whole lox on the bagel. So of course I assume that means a bagel with lox schmear (smoked salmon combined with cream cheese) like ever other breakfast place I’ve got to that advertisers cream cheese and salmon together. What I got instead was depressing to say the least. It looked like and tasted like tuna from a can & cream cheese combined. It was really bad. It looked sorta like salmon so I’m lead to believe that they either used very cheap canned salmon or actually used canned tuna. My boyfriend and I both got the same thing and we’re both extremely disappointed. We would have said something but we were in a hurry and also felt like we had slightly been warned. However the warning wasn’t sufficient and I’m hoping that the café staff will read this and change their food or their false advertising. Otherwise I’m sure the sandwiches were fine but our food sucked.

Good Deli and good coffee. Nothing great though. If you want a good Deli try Piazzas.

I’ve worked in the Food and Beverage industry for a long time, and nothing speaks louder than customer service. It naturally triggers our brain to decide whether tastes better or not, however in Café 2Ks case, both are a winning combination. Omar and staff do a phenomenal job, and I couldn’t think of a better recommendation than to a family owned kiosk that serves great food with a smile. Breakfast burritos and a smoothie in them morning makes me content all day long.
Keep up the good work, Omar!

Quick, cheap sandwiches and salads for those working in and around 2000 Alameda de las Pulgas. Very sweet family runs it, and their lattes are really good!

When I used to work in the building where café 2k is, it was my go-​to place for breakfast and lunch and even afternoon snack! Omar and his team are so wonderful, polite and helpful! Now that I have moved on to another company down the road, I have brought Café 2K down to my new place for when we need breakfast or lunch platters! EVERYONE loves 2k!!!

Excellent customer service always wins me over. The owners are great, very quick, and very friendly. I appreciate the variety of foods and beverages they offer and from what I’ve heard from my colleagues, the sandwiches are delicious. The food prep area is kept very clean and even though the line can get pretty long, the wait time never is. I’m still very impressed by how attentive and courteous they are to the customers. Other establishments could take a lesson or two from Café 2K. Thank you for satisfying or caffeine needs!

Don’t get me wrong, but no one can be perfect and please everyone all the time. Especialy this day. It was a Tuesday. It was very busy, I guess the good Unilocal reviews have made it a popular spot because there was a long line, but not a problem because this place luckily takes phone orders. Being the smart person that I am, I placed an order for a veggie burger sandwich around 12:30 PM (it’s a veggie sandwich with a gardenburger patty). Well when I went downstairs 10 minutes later expecting a tasty sanwich, I waited 10 minutes to get to the register after the long line to find out they had run out of the veggie burger patties. I was offered the choice of a veggie sandwich but I was on my way out to an appointment and didn’t want to wait, so I left hungry. When I’m hungry I am not in a good mood. I wish they had told me that over the phone or taken down my name/​number so they could call me back and let me know. That would have been better service. As I waited 10 minutes to get to the register there were so many people standing around that they didn’t know who was ordering or picking up. They could use a sign or something so that people don’t get confused. That day they turned down a few people for not having enough tuna sandwiches. I did see that someone took a half veggie sandwich, So that was nice to know even though it’s not on their menu to do half-​sandwiches (though not for every sandwich).

Café 2K is a really awesome café right in the building lobby in San Mateo. Omar runs the place and is a great guy. All the customers are regulars and know him by name. I try to go there as often as possible to eat sandwiches. I think Café 2K sandwiches are just as good if not better than an actual deli or Specialty sandwich. The customer service is always excellent and everyone is happy to support Omar and his business. I personally consider him a friend and started off just as a customer but now I see how hard he works and how hard he tried day in and day out to make all the customers extremely happy. The food is not only excellent but the people there make for an amazing experience. I will always be a customer of Café 2K so long as Omar continues to run the café.

Fresh and tasty, is not enough, actually, it’s WONDERFUL !

I go there for coffee almost every day. Nice people. Good service. The coffee is okay. Pastries are not that good but the sandwiches are very very very good.

Café 2K is a welcome addition to 2000 Alameda. This place is worth going to even if you don’t work there! Easy parking in front or in the basement. Food is fresh and tasty, and cheap. Owners/​workers are very friendly. The kickin chicken sandwich is great, and huge. Good wheat rolls. Falafel is decent. The BLT has nice crispy bacon, but come on give me more than two thin slices of tomato guys! Other than that no complaints!

I recently visited a friend of mine who works in this building (2000 Alameda de las Pulgas) for lunch. He recommended that we check out the new café that opened up in the lobby.
We were greeted by the 2 brothers who own the place and they were very nice and helpful in helping us decide what to order.
I ordered the Kickin’ Chicken sandwich and my friend ordered a California Wrap.
The food was fresh and delicious! We were very impressed by the quality of food that these guys were producing. The coffee was very flavorful and the smoothie my friend ordered was delicious as well.
They have a great selection of Sandwiches and Salads and plenty vegetarian options as well.
Although the café is in the lobby of a building, I do see myself making the trip for lunch. Definitely worth the drive!
