I have been using Amos Orchids at my business for over the past five years. Tony is very kind and always makes sure I’m happy with the product before he leaves. Every time residents step into the building, they always compliment how beautiful the flowers look. I can honestly say having Amos orchids come in has not only improved my business but also has brought joy to the residents living there.

Besides reasonable price, you can trust that he’ll hand select the best Orchids for your arrangement, and he will cater to your request as much as he can. He spends ample amount of time giving advise in arrangement designs, and educate how to take great care of your Orchids. I just received my first arrangement from Tony, and the size, color, and overall arrangement is perfect for my home office! My elderly mother just moved to this area from the east coast, and I wanted to send her an orchid arrangement to welcome her. I also wanted to send another orchid arrangement to my relatives who are caring for her. I am from the east coast and don’t know any of the businesses in San Mateo or surrounding communities.
Thanks to the great reviews that I got from this website, I took a chance with Amos Orchids, and am I glad that I did. Tony was exceptionally personable on the phone and immediately understood my requests. He followed through big time by putting together two beautiful orchid arrangements that were with my favorite white orchids and delivered them personally. He even took photos for me to look at before putting the finishing touches on them.
My mother and relatives were thrilled! Therefore, I was thrilled! Tony was easy to work with, very professional, and reliable. It is my hope that my family members will be enjoying their floral arrangements for many weeks and months to come, especially since many buds were not even open yet on the stems. They reported that their orchids were gorgeous, on healthy stems, and had healthy-​looking, unbruised leaves. I couldn’t have done a better job with the plant selection.
It’s so great in this day and age, when most organizations come big and impersonal, to work with a small business that provides personable and professional attention to the customer. Ordering flowers was never so easy, thanks to Tony’s help!

My girl just started a new job and it happened to be the week of Valentine’s Day — what’s a boyfriend in another state to do?
Orchids are one of her favorite flowers, and I wanted to make the day special for her. Tony went out of his way to pick beautiful plants for me and work with me to make sure arrangement matched perfectly with the style I was imagining.
Ordering from out of state, I noticed his communication was excellent, and he kept me up to date on the status (him searching for the right plants for me, and when he would be able to deliver them).
I would definitely order orchids from here again. Also, my girlfriend said the plants arrived looking gorgeous and with very healthy roots.

Tony at Amos Orchids was so kind and accommodating of my last-​minute order for orchids to decorate my parent’s anniversary party. He asked me very thorough questions about the kinds of orchids I was looking for: size, color, pots, moss, etc. 48 hours later, I stopped by his shop to pick up the incredible, beautiful, and perfectly priced orchids. Tony was great. Helpful and friendly and my wife was over the moon when she received her mixed orchid arrangement. It was beautiful and reasonably priced, especially when you realize you get a living plant and not some cut flower that’ll be dead in 3 days.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful. That still doesn’t accurately describe the orchids in this wonderful little shop. Each orchid is like an amazing floral sculpture. The best part is the owner will tell you how to keep your orchids that way. The orchids, the prices and the customer service make this a business worth supporting, it worth the trip from anywhere in the Bay Area.

Why would you order flowers from a run-​of –the-​mill shop when you can get something absolutely unique, and get first class customer service at a very reasonable price. Tony is the best!

It was already 3pm when I realized that it was my grandma’s 85^th Birthday. I live in LA so I searched frantically online for the closest florists around my grandma’s house. I came up with a few florists all with excellent Unilocal ratings but decided to give Amos Orchids a call because I learned from my sister that my grandma loves orchids! I called and spoke to Tony, who was ALL so helpful. We discussed my preferences and types of orchids i wanted to send. In the end, i choose some purple and white orchids. I asked to see if he could send me a photo of the orchids arrangement via the phone before I placed my order. In most cases, i know most florists won’t do this. But Tony was all so accommodating. I really appreciate this because you know. sometimes, the flowers you order online, don’t match what is delivered! Long story short, my orchids where delivered in time for my grandma’s BBQ dinner party tonight and they looked beautiful. My grandma loves them! THANK YOU SO MUCH Tony!

These are like his kids and it shows. Every time I have a birthday or any occasions — I come to visit with Tony. And oh man — Tony’s orchid’s are BEAUTIFUL, COLORFUL AND FULL OF LIFE! And his selections are OUT OF THIS WORLD!
By the time you get out of AMOS ORCHIDS — you not only get the BEST DEAL in town and the BEST ORCHIDS IN TOWN, you also walk away with an education on how to properly care for your orchids.

Tony does a great job with whatever you need. He takes the time to find out exactly what you want and then fits the orchids and arrangement accordingly. He has a huge selection of various varieties. And if he doesn’t have what you want… he will get it for you. We use his orchids for our office and they always get compliments.

I stumbled across Amos Orchids a year ago and *hearts* the shop. Tony is the proprietor and is very passionate about his orchids. Before meeting Tony, I could not keep my orchids alive to save my life. I have learned so much about different varieties of orchids, care conditions, etc in this past year, I’ve become the «plant lady» in my office.
I’ve introduced him to several of my friends and they all speak highly of their experience. Tony’s prices are unbelievable and the quality is superb! I’ve been spoiled.

I love this tiny little shop super close to work! I call Tony my orchid doctor… When they look a little droopy or limp, I take them over to his store. He has been SOOO helpful in diagnosing issues. His store is full of amazing plants that are high quality. I have a plant on my desk from his place and it’s been in bloom since October… And the stalk full of flowers is still going strong.
He’s talkative, knowledgeable and gave up working in the auto industry to cultivate his hobby of orchids into a full-​fledged business.
His hours aren’t consistent since he does deliveries and the such so call ahead to make sure he’s open.
I’m such a huge fan of this place that it’s getting one of my coveted «Hundred» reviews. :)

The owner’s name is actually Tony. Amos is a combination of his name and his wife’s name.
Tony’s a talker. We’ve had many wonderfully insightful conversations about everything under the sun. He’s a very loving guy and his family is really sweet; his adorable kids are often in the store on afternoons and his wife, Lisa will occasionally pop in too.
Tony provided the extra flowers for my wedding. He did so much leg work to get me a fair price and the orchids were beautiful. He was not out to make a profit and I was so appreciative of all the work he did. He went to multiple growers multiple times, and looked into different colors and species.
Tony’s prices are very reasonable. He also houses/​nurses plants in the event you’re like me and have a penchant for killing plants. Many of his customers buy plants as throw-​away decorations, but if you’re actually planning to keep your purchase around a little longer, he will talk to you honestly about the necessary growing conditions and such. Also, if you bring back a plant to discard with him, he will donate it to Orchid Mania in SF.
To sum up, Tony’s a great guy who loves orchids and his prices are unbeatable.
