Absolutely horrible service. We called in an order for a XL pizza and it took almost 2hrs to be delivered. I called them back and asked for my order after waiting another 15mins. They passed the phone around and told me that the driver left about 10mins ago. I called for the second time after waiting another 15mins and the night manager started arguing with me. She even told me that she can cancel my order and suggested Mr. Pizza Man. I am paying $ 30 for a pizza and you’re suggesting a different business. I am never going to order from them ever again. They need to train the manager on customer service. She needs an attitude adjustment pronto.

I come to the bay Area every now and then so with the jet lag we get hungry late at night and the only thing that delivers is Pizza. We ordered pizza from almost every place in San Mateo, and Aldo’s pizza is by far the best. Their price is good and their pizza is delicious. I have never been to the place itself, so I can’t rate the experience, but if I am to rate the pizza, I’ll give it a 5. Delicious!

Cheeseburger craving was intense yesterday, so I went to Aldo’s right after work! I usually order their deluxe burger on a french roll, which is very large but this time got the regular size on a bun. Just as delicious! Ordered it medium like usual, always turns out perfectly cooked. Took it to go, as I waited i had a glass of red wine. The wine is not fancy, but it is after all a pizza joint. Can’t beat the price of a glass of wine though, I almost got a 2nd glass! But my burger was ready in about 10 minutes. Took my last sip of wine, headed home and devoured the entire burger. Included with the burger is a bag of potato chips and a large pickle spear. Nice added touch. I also met a nice lady who was ordering, when they took out her chicken wings she was like«omg they are soo delicious!» Then tells me how she’s been coming to Aldo’s since 1960! It is definitely an old school type of place. And just like my other 5 star reviews, a must to get 5 stars is excellent customer service — Aldo’s is no exception to this rule! There is a large flat screen playing sports. And in the corner a small room of a couple of arcade games. Great place for families, or as in my case a regular who comes in for her burger fix. Of course Aldo’s specializes in pizzas, and I have had plenty of them. When my family comes to visit me, they often have said«should we order Aldo’s?» Ummmm… yes!!! As I was waiting for my burger last nite, it was early-ish, around 4pm. I was the only one sitting in the dining room at that time, but I noticed there were many phone orders being placed and the delivery guy came in to pick up his next order. Love this place! Such an original.

I’ve been going to Aldo’s for 32 years cuz they’re close to home. They’re the only pizza place nearby that has a good thin crust, but they’re very skimpy on the toppings and cheese on the large and xlarge sizes. I wouldn’t recommend the pizza with meat because their meats are not very good quality, ie sausage, beef, ham, pepperoni, proscuittos, etc; the veggie pizza are my preference because of this. You have to watch the cashiers when you use their coupons, they seem to not apply the correct discounts and then they keep the receipts so you don’t notice. Everytime I use the ”free” small pizza with XL specialty pizza coupon, they charge me anyways, but just knock off $ 5!!! That’s not cool, so watch out!

There are three things going wrong with this place. The food is bad; the communication of the person answering the phone is bad; and the quality of the food is really going downhill. I have lived and worked in the Shoreview area all my life, and I have gradually watched the quality level of the food go down hill. I remember over 35 years ago, it was a great place to go and everything was delicious, but now that I really sad how bad it has gotten. The food is tasteless, and unappealing. The hamburger meat was raw, and the very sad, flat looking pizza was burnt and hard. I have called to place orders and I find the same service problems keep occurring. It is very frustrating when the person answering the phone is not really paying attention to my order and asks me to repeat it three times. This has happened on multiple occasions, additionally when the food does arrive, it is perpetually wrong! The final straw was raw hamburger meat in the less than deluxe cheeseburger. I have not ordered from them since.

I have been a customer for many years. The thin crust has a specialty taste that enhances the taste of the pizza. And another plus is, you don’t get that overstuffed feeling with the thin crust. And I am writing this review because I had the experience of having my medium pepperoni with garlic delivered with a small salad. I had forgotten my lunch that day and got paid and figured I would treat myself. The pizza showed up rather quickly. The driver also named Aldo was very nice. I then requested utensils to eat my salad, he said he didn’t have any… then I said, «how about peppers or parmesan cheese», and once again he said he didn’t have any. Then I paid him, and gave him a tip. After he left, I looked at the receipt and saw a delivery charge of $ 2.00 and I gave him $ 2.00 so I guess he got $ 4.00. And I sat there wondering well I guess I will end up taking the salad home seeing that we had no utensils at my work, and the pizza place didn’t provide me with any. I was alittle unhappy with what I had to deal with and was going to call to complain, but then I remembered this website. This place has been here for a long time. Its been here for over 20 years and I remember even going on a field trip here in Elementary school. The place has pretty much stayed the same inside and out as long as I can remember. The food just about matches that consistency as well. It really hasn’t changed much over the years and always been a solid slice of pizza. The only real difference I notice is them adding whole wheat pizza which has been there for a few years now. I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect much of the whole wheat, but it doesn’t taste much different. I’ve gotten the whole wheat super veggie a few times(even though I love meat). This and the Aldo’s special are usually my go to’s. I’ve even gotten a few friends on the super veggie pizza which surprised them. By the way the default crust is thin, so if you don’t like thin crust, make sure to mention a different type of crust. They offer 3 different types.

I would give 1.5 if that was a possibility but since it’s not I had to go with 1 star to make sure this doesn’t show up as the top pizza search for anybody else on Unilocal. It was honestly the most bland, tasteless, pizza I’ve ever had in my life. I imagine this pizza is what the dead-timeless food from the book/series“The Langoliers” would taste like. The crust was something between super market frozen pizza/jail/cafeteria food. I’ve had better pizza on a budget US airline :(. On the plus side, the people were nice(delivery girl and the man taking the order) but unfortunately this review is all about the quality of the food and why I had to go to such an extreme to prevent anybody else from making the same mistake. If you want budget pizza in the area, even Domino’s or Papa Johns would do you better, or just get a Digiorno or CPK frozen pizza even, it will still taste better.

I feel sad for those that like this pizza since you likely never had good pizza if you think this is good. Some of the worst pizza worst ever had. I am a little picky about what I consider great pizza but I always say«even bad pizza is still pizza» but this was horrible! We got a thin and a Cali crust. Thin was better of the 2 but they were both flavorless pieces of cardboard with toppings.

I ordered a large combo pizza to be delivered a week ago and I have to say it was the most tasteless pizza I’ve ever had. Not only that, it was expensive. I don’t mind the cost if the pizza is good, but this was not. Won’t get my business anymore.

The pizza here is pretty delicious. I think the crust used to be better tho and I used to like the classic arcade games. I am not sure what happened its like they gave up when it comes to entertainment. They definitly make sure your pizza is right tho, theres like a thousand people making your pizza for you so there shouldn’t be any problems there. The beer is okay here

This pizza is okay, not great, but I bumped it up a star because they have a whole wheat crust option available. Otherwise, standard fair pizza and toppings with a small, casual resto.

The pizza at Aldos has a unique style crust. Its a light and crispy yet flaky texture but not greasy. Always hot and fresh tasting.

The pizza here is so good! The problem with this place is that I end up eating way toooooo much. I get cravings for Aldo’s every couple of months. A must try place.

SODELICIOUS! By far, my fave pizza place in the Bay Area! According to their site… «When most people think of pizza, thoughts turn to old Italy. But in the Bay Area cultures blend in unexpected ways. Aldo’s original thin crust pizza is a favorite among the Indian community, who praise its unique light and crispy flavor. These loyal customers drive from the South Bay, San Francisco and even as far as Sacramento for the taste of Aldo’s pizza. The restaurant’s family-friendly atmosphere makes a perfect gathering place for chatting, relaxing and of course eating!» I agree with the above-stated information. The food is TASTY(and spicy if preferred). Great quality. Their bread(garlic cheese and pesto with jalapeños) = yummy! Their pizza crust is amazingly good! Their featured pizza(and my fave) is the Star of India — topped with green peppers, onions, olives and spicy jalapeños. Furthermore, vegetarians can ask to have the pizza cutter cleaned before slicing their pizza — how thoughtful! They have other items(i.e., pasta, salads, burgers, sandwiches) on their menu, too though I’ve only consumed their pizza and bread thus far. I’ve been here several times, and each time I have not been disappointed! The service is satisfactory.

The pizza wasn’t bad, but it’s definitely not my favorite. The price was cheap which was reflected in the quality. I much rather have Blue line or Paxis if given a choice. They do deliver though and the pizzeria is easy to find.

Easily the best pizza in San Mateo. I’ve lived in San Mateo all my life and tried almost every place around. I can honestly say this is a great pizza. Yes, the crust isn’t traditional. It’s a thin crust, but in my opinion it’s one of the best tasting crusts I’ve tried. It’s crispy and flaky(almost like a real pie crust). And has a great amount of flavor. I’ve been coming here for years and have never gotten sick of the food. The staff is always friendly and the foods pretty quick. Any pizza I’ve tried from this place has been good. Fresh ingredients, delicious sauce and a perfect crust. Where could you go wrong?

This hidden gem makes the best pizza in town. Not so great interior but AMAZING pizza. They have a fantastic thin crust pizza and use only the freshest ingredients. I always order the Super Veggie which is loaded with vegetables on top. You can really taste the freshness of all the ingredients. I’ve tried other combinations here too and have never been disappointed. Prices are also pretty decent. Aldo’s usually has a ton of coupons. Come and you won’t be disappointed!
