Instrument Sales And Repairs. As a professional and lay bassist, I found retail prices for instruments and accessories unbelievably inflated. After paying retail prices for years I finally got fed up and worked to start an online store to offer fellow musicians, students and schools the best prices I can.

As a musician, I know about the instruments I sell and can guide you in your decisions when purchasing an instrument. If you are a local here in the San Francisco Bay Area, set-​up and adjustments are Free

I also provide a repair service and have personally custom-​built and finished fine violins

I’m currently a bassist with the Peninsula Symphony (San Francisco Bay Area). I perform professionally and for fun with Rock, Folk, Blues, Swing, Jazz and Rock-​a-​Billy Bands.

We bought a violin from Dan last year and it was great purchase experience. This time around I needed more help from Dan to find an affordable but better than basic viola and we were looking for a specific kind of bow. Dan was extremely helpful, patient and easy to work with. The price, quality of the instrument and set up were super. It’s true, he does work out of his home so it’s best to call and make an appointment before going.

So glad to have found a local violin dealer I can trust. Daniel is knowledgeable, patient, and charges a fair price. If you’re buying an instrument for a student, he encourages you have your music teacher evaluate it before you commit, which inspires confidence if, like me, you’re no expert yourself. He also buys and sells used violins, both outright and on consignment, so both times we bought a new violin from him, we were able to essentially trade in our old one.
Daniel also provides additional services, like replacing strings.
Note, however, than Daniel runs his shop out of his own home, so you need to make an appointment. It’s worth it, though: when you show up he’ll give you his undivided attention, and the low overhead probably helps him keep his prices low, too. Highly recommended.

A Music Connection is an excellent place to get great service, inventory and prices. Daniel spent a LOT of time with me and I finally was able to find a compact bass amp that is just right for my situation.
Before my visit to him, I was very frustrated trying to shop on line and at the «big stores». They were NO help.
Daniel let me try lots of amps and was very helpful. I purchased a wonderful Phil Jones briefcase amp and I’m a very happy musician!
I will do business with him again!

Popped in to buy new ukulele strings. Nicest guy ever (and dogs!). Thankfully, he very honestly told me that my strings were fine, but suggested other brand of strings for back up or to try out. Had great suggestions for self teaching, and let me try out some ukuleles he had in stock. Very pleased.

Last year I needed an adjustment to my bass & was i the area. I called & Dan was available so I stopped by. The issue turned out to be minor & Dan refused to charge for the service. (I’ll remember that!) Some time later i was interested in purchasing a Dobro and Dan was one of the people I called. His price was the best & I was already familiar with his level of service. Yep, you guessed it… another winner!

I’ve already bought 2 ukuleles from the Music Connection and might go back for a third soon. The last time I was there, I not only walked away with a great deal but also some extra sheet music and tips on difficult chords I had been struggling with. Very personable and friendly environment with a wide range of selections for string instruments. From beginners to professionals, I highly recommend this local neighborhood shop.
