False advertising. Sign says $ 19.99 oil change. Jack tried to up charge me an additional $ 10 for an oil filter. Come on, man. That’s rather sneaky if you ask me.

Awesome people. I got two of my 1999 Cruiser fixed here. One had a oil leak. Another one needed a tune up. They do know what they talking about to a certain extent. The only thing I wouldn’t suggest is buying tires from them. The tires that they carry are no name brands. No worth buying. Go to Costco. But for basic tune ups and mechanical problems. They are the people. Plus they are very competitive when it comes to prices. Cheap.

They charged me $ 98 for a some thing which took 30minutes with only one guy and not much tools. They are very expensive and they don’t look like they know what they do.
I won’t go there again for sure !!!

Mechanics are very nice and friendly. Came in for smog check and oil change, I would return.

They were unable to tell me what was wrong with my car. They seem nice, but all 4 people were too busy to put their forks down while they talked with me. Seems sketchy.

This is not a service station to trust. The owner sold me used 2 tires that turned out to be the wrong size as well as one of them already patched. The patched tire became flat within 1 week, and I ended up having to replace them both. He did return my money in full with a guilty conscience.

Had to get an alternator for my 2002 Nissan. Not only was David friendly but his service was very personable and professional. His prices are affordable and I had my car back within a couple of hours.
He has built a customer for life. I highly recommend going to David if you need an oil change, smog check, car maintanence or major work.

I haven’t worked with the auto service, but for some reason, gas prices in this particular gas station are about 10% more expensive compared to other stations nearby. I’d say refrain from buying gas from here unless you enjoy being screwed.

Before I went on vacation, I was stupid enough to allow my gardner, who is a DIY mechanic on his old truck, talk me into letting him change my transmission fluid on my Miata ’07. He was unable to change the transmission fluid because it was not the usual pour directly into the pump and the filter was a specialty part which required ordering from the dealer. Because it was the Labor day weekend and I was leaving that Monday, I was unable to deal with the missing filter. I told my gardener to put back the filter and just fill it with transmission so I could use the car and drive it to a mechanic closer to home. My gardener was unable to find the transmission fluid fill area to pour the transmission oil into the car This is the reason my car ended up at Borel Auto down the block from my gardener’s place. I spoke to the mechanic, explaining to him the situation and what I wanted. I had a bag of spark plugs, oil and transmission fluids, spark plugs,…etc all sitting in the front seat for him to perform the 90K tune-​up. The price agreed for labor was $ 250 which was to include 90K tune-​up. I had a napkin which I dropped off in a bag with the key explaining what my expectation wa. He had a copy which I signed for him to pre-​charge my credit card for $ 250 labor. It didn’t specify only transmission. Any fair mechanic would know this $ 250 labor was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for transmission and filter change. I explained to him the situation and also I would be in Paris for 3 weeks. The parts for the 90K tune up was incorrectly bought. Auto Parts customer service rep was a total failure. Nothing bought for the 90K mile was correct.
While I was gone the first 2 weeks, Borel auto tried calling on my phone which did not work internationally. I called one week before coming back. I asked him to order the filter from the dealer. The office manager emailed me and I sent a consent via email for the transmission fluid change. When I arrived home Wednesday, the parts had not been ordered. On the phone, the mechanic kept saying I should come in for him to show me the old filter. I said I don’t want to see the old filter and please order the new filter. He agreed. Wednesday afternoon, I stopped by and asked if he had ordered the parts, he said yeah. I get a call from the front desk office about filter order clarification from Wallace? This is either Thursday or Friday. I’m yelling at the guy, pissed that he is asking for clarification of part when it should have been ordered. He telling me potentially it would take until Wednesday the following week to have the filter arrive and if they should go ahead place the order. I am beyond words. How many emails and phone calls do you need to place a transmission filter!!! They try to say it was misunderstanding. I think what is there to understand?! I’m there for transmission fluid and filter change. DUH!!! Do you think I need a filter? And out of consideration for your client, why would you keep stalling the order placement? He lent me an old car to drive Sunday afternoon until potentially next week when I would my car back. I am so upset at the inconvenience.
When I arrived to pick up the car, the guy thought he was giving me a special break with a labor price of 166 plus $ 79 filter. I could not believe it. I said this is price gouging. I said that transmission fluid change was only $ 70 – 125 with fluids included. Here I had provided the fluids and filter. He insisted that his price was fair. I called a couple shop for price comparison and even the dealer to ask them for a hourly charge estimate and was told at most 1hr. I had seen how quickly he unbolted and took down the pan to show me the old filter. Anyway, he refused to call the places I had call to verify the labor price. He insisted nobody would change my transmission fluid and filter for less. Well, they did and more as you can see of my review for Quick Wrench. There’s a host of reliable mechanic who would do it for less. He held my car hostage until finally he relented for me to pay $ 205 for labor and filter included. I walked out of there pissed but willing to wait and think about the experience objectively. It wasn’t until a patient who worked in the mechanic industry told me Borel’s price was WAY out of the norm that my anger over the experience resurfaced.
I dislike this place very much because the mechanic was impossible to discuss rationally the problem. He is very much typical Chinese poor customer service attitude when there is a difference of opinion. His English is very bad. He doesn’t understand. You need to talk to the office person and get it writing.

Yesterday I was heading to the 24 Hour Gym at Borel and saw a new sign at the 76 Gas Station offering oil changes. It was about 5 pm on a Sunday, so I thought I would just see closed garage doors and check what time I could drop my car off the next time I go for a work out. But I was surprised to find the garage still open and a friendly mechanic ready to help me. For a good price with great service, I was able to get my car taken care of while I went for a quick work out at the gym. Very convenient and clean location, with a smart and helpful mechanic & company owner, named David. Great place!
