Crowell Public Library

The library overall is a disgusting, disturbing, and violating place. The staff, daisy and Patrica, are god awful and should be fired at once. The children are being verbally abused daily for things they do not do. The librarians also use racial slurs on the children. The other day, my son came home. He was bursting in tears when he told me the librarians daisy and Patrica dragged him into the bathroom and started to touch him. He said it was even would de than the other time they said they would give him candy. Majority of the things they do is not legal. Please fire these 2 staff at once.

Perfect location. Beautiful attraction. If you’re not visiting to check out a book, you’re visiting to admire the beautiful architecture; as well as the numerous programs they host on any given day. The library is wheelchair accessible. There are super quiet rooms to sit down and study. The staff is very helpful and do their best to help you find whatever you need. Their volunteers are also great. I recommend checking their website for current activities/​programs.

They underwent renovation about ten years ago, and since then, I think it’s one of the best libraries around. It’s the perfect location for kids to go since it’s conveniently located next to the middle and elementary schools. Also, the staff here is always friendly. They are knowledgeable about looking up books and even help with projects.
One of the reasons I love coming here is for their study rooms. There are three study rooms you can reserve in the quiet room if you have a party of two or more. Depending on your party size, they will give you preference for the length of time you are allotted to stay in the rooms. Typically, it’s not too busy during the weekends but the weekdays can be crowded because this is where kids usually wait for their parents to pick them up.
A plus about this library is the fact how they offer passport services. Instead of having to wait hours at a post office, you can come here! They will even take your passport pictures for you but that’s $ 15 so I suggest doing pictures at Costco or somewhere before. The ladies at the passport area are very quick and efficient.
Wonderful place to come if you ever need a nice and quiet place to study.

I visited the Crowell Public Library for an event with two other Asian-​American mystery novelists – Naomi Hirahara and George Fong – during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. I’ve worked at a couple public libraries in my day, and I can tell you, San Marino’s is a nice one.
Parking was free and easy, the area surrounding the library pretty and peaceful. The building and landscaping were well maintained, and everything inside felt clean and comfortable. I only walked through the main area to get to the community room, but what I saw of it was very pleasant. Definitely the kind of library you want in your neighborhood, especially if you have kids.
The community room was also great, set up as a cozy event space, complete with coffee and cookies. I think Irene is the one who set everything up, and she was a stellar hostess. The event was a lot of fun, and I’m happy there were so many readers in attendance. The library puts on several of these events a year, and I can attest that they’re really well planned. It’s always nice when libraries serve as community hubs where people can gather and talk about books (in the non-​quiet areas).
I don’t live in or near San Marino, but I’ll bet Crowell is a wonderful resource for the people who do. It’s a lovely library, and I was thankful for the opportunity to visit and meet some of San Marino’s readers.

This library is so darn close to my house, I love how convenient it is :)
It’s pretty small … I would say there are less than 10 – 12 tables. Come early for a seat! Parking can get packed but there’s street parking as well.
No need for a library card to log onto their internet although the internet can lag a little … but not going to complain because it’s free.
They also have programs on the weekends for children and adults. Check their calendar online!

Great library. Quiet, plenty of parking, respectful folks. My only complaint is the internet connection. The internet here is debilitating. I just lost three hours of work on a shared workspace online because my computer appeared connected to the web. Ouch.
I wouldn’t come here again with reliance on internet — it drops repeatedly. But I would come here for a quiet block of time to study/​read like it was 1992.

Actually i visited the friend bookstore for buying some used books in cheap price. I was very welcomed by a staff who worked in volunteer. She, looked nearly 60, helped me a lot, explaining so many books what i looking for with the knowledge.
I got 80 nice condition children’s books for under 40 dollars.

I am a frequent patron of this library. It’s my favorite library in the SGV. I pretty much know half of the staff and librarians. They always provide great service or ready to meet my needs. But today was special the librarian Rex even walked to my study table and provided me with the hand wipes.
