I found Vince through Unilocal.I took a chance on him because he either has all stars or one star. In my experience, he was phenomenal. He fixed my sons bed that everyone told me was completely unfixable and then he fixed one of my twin’s cribs that was also super broken. In my case I was desperate. He isn’t interested in small talk but who cares? He’s amazing at his job! His prices were sooooo fair and so good. I highly recommend Vince!

We first used him maybe 6 mos ago. He was ok the first visit, but what stood out was his curt and callous demeanor, not to mention his cussing when frustrated with a project. I don’t like cussing in my home from a stranger. That said, he did work hard, and fast, and therefore we gave him 2 more tries and the cussing was better. Then, for reasons unclear to us, it was very difficult to schedule the next visit. Over the last couple months, he has cancelled on us twice, last minute, and the third time he didn’t even bother to call or reschedule. I find that ironic as I read some of the reviews about this guy and his complaints about customers not being at home or paying on time. This was the last straw for us and we won’t use him again.

I live out of town, and I found Vince online, did a brief phone interview, and sent him out on two jobs near him that he said he could do. As it turned out, he was incompetent to do either one, and I had to hire someone else who succeeded. Nevertheless, Vince billed me for his time in failing to do the jobs. I figured I was going to bite the bullet and send him a check when I wrote out my checks. Five days later, he woke me up with an early call. He asked if I had mailed him a check yet. I said that I hadn’t gotten around to it, but would soon. He began yelling at me and threatening to take me to Small Claims Court if I didn’t pay in five more days. I said, «What? My goodness! You’re being unreasonable!» whereupon, he hung up on me. He called again, threatening to put a lien on my property, and all sorts of threats. I decided to pay him in SMALL PAYMENTS for his time in NOT FIXING what he was sent out to do. What a piece of work! Stay away from him!

Called him to look at my sink leak and repair the sink coming apart from the wall. He came the very next day (less than 24 hours from when I called him) repaired both and when I asked him what I owed him he said «don’t worry about it.» I insisted but he said it was on him! Can’t beat that! Thanks again Vince.

i have used vince’s handyman services several times over the past few years and have always been very pleased with his work, his prices, and his honesty. he fixed my front steps, built me back steps, installed my dining room chandelier, re-​sealed the roof on one mobile home, checked the roof on the other mobile home and told me it was fine and didn’t need any work. he’s my first choice when a repair is needed.

Just so everyone is clear about what a great guy Vince is, here is an example of his customer service skills. This is an e-​mail I just received from him.
«like i said, i was to be there in 1 hr. i was it was 1pm then and you werent home, you waisted my time and gas running out of my way while i was heading to another job so if you make an appointment with someone be there if you dont like what i said go get screwed be at your appointments on time, and dont ever call me again, ive been in this trade 31 years and your the first not to call or be there when you have an appointment, so you best watch what you write about people asshole»
My response to you here Vince is: This was a communication breakdown. You said you were to call me in an hour. I was here. I heard the door but wasn’t expecting visitors so I didn’t answer, and boy am I glad I didn’t. Carry on now. You are making things worse for yourself.
