Typical Home Depot, large, but good signage to find everything you need … Including a screw and a wing nut… seriously. But they always have friendly people asking you what you need when you walk in/​yea. Parking can be disastrous if you hit them on the weekend afternoons. Luckily it was only 8:00 am on Saturday

This store always has what I need. But even better, they have a free kids clinic EVERY Saturday! My boys love it!

My husband and I went in to Home Depot a couple weeks ago to purchase a washer, dryer and fridge because we are currently in the process of buying a property in Colorado! We were greeted by John Coffin in the appliance department and he is the man! He was so friendly and so helpful. John priced out the 3 appliances and they were a little over budget so we told him we’d have to wait. He explained the benefits of opening up a Home Depot credit card, although we decided not to.
After we left, John called us and informed us that a very similar fridge was about a $ 1000 cheeper if we’d like to come back and take a look, but we decided we were set on the LG appliances. About a week later John called again and informed us the appliances we were looking at were now on a special buy and it’s the time to come get them — which we did! I even was able to upgrade our washer and dryer to the higher end model because of the amount we saved!
Thank you John for being the best Home Depot employee I’ve ever met! You were so personable and down to earth. We never felt pushed or rushed. Your patience and knowledge is greatly appreciated!

I love Home Depot. I shop at the store regularly and also online. Never had a had a problem with them taking my coupon. Today, they told me because I didn’t print out the coupon in my email that I couldn’t use it. I left my whole cart full of items at the register and walked out. Lowes will price match and take my coupon. Why do they want to lose business like that? Where did the customer service go? Apparently out the window with the large corporation. Supports all businesses, that’s where theorize customer service is. I will never go back to this depot. I don’t recommend you do either.

Will never come back to this home depot again! I wish Lowes was still in town. Came in here because I needed to buy some stuff to hang some floating shelves and some pictures, was looking for a hammer, a screw driver, and a small drill, nothing too large or crazy just a small little drill to use on household projects. I figured maybe they have some sort of kit with a few different tools in it that I could buy, but no they apparently only carry those around the holidays. Not that big of a deal. So i tried to buy the individual tools and make my own.
What really bothered me was the employees and their complete lack of respect or ability to acknowledge their customers as well as their complete lack of knowledge of anything pertaining to everything they sell there. (Sorry to the employees that take pride in their work and have extensive knowledge of the product or great customer service, you guys all must have been off that day)
My experience in particular involves a man named Fabian. After wandering around the store looking for an employee to answer some of my simple questions I found Fabian standing at the «service center». When I approached he was blasting some sort of Mariachi music, which I’m a fan of, but there’s a time and a place which I think Fabian doesn’t seem to understand.
Anyways only after I TRIED to explain to him what I was looking for twice did he deem it an acceptable time to turn the speakers down, which didn’t really seem to help him understand me. He continued to take me to the nail aisle and try and sell me a box of nails.
When I kept telling him that I had nails but I was in fact looking for something to put the nails INTO the walls with he still did not seem to understand so he guided me to another man making keys in the back, who was slightly more helpful after he ALSO tried to sell me another pack of nails but eventually told me they didn’t have the drill or kit I was looking for. And when Fabian «pawned» me off onto the other employee he decided to follow us around the store and the other employee made a rude comment about me trying to «get rid of» Fabian to which I replied that it was in fact Fabian that was «pawning» us off.
Now i’m not someone who has an extensive knowledge of tools and whatnot but I’m not a complete idiot, which is what Fabian and a few other employees made me feel the entire time I was there although they seem to have absolutely no idea about anything they are selling. His facial expressions during my questions told me that he didn’t really think too highly of me.
Now i’m not trying to get anyone in trouble here but just bring some awareness to this persons life. I don’t want to be one of those jerks that just loves to take their life frustrations out on innocent employees but this experience was horribly frustrating. It’s fine to not be a people person, but maybe don’t work in the service industry.
Unfortunately I have to go back to this place to return the stuff I bought because, what do you know, its not what I need.
Bummer.

The 2016 Unilocal 500, Review #047:
Ruben back in key cutting was awesome in helping me pick out key rings and a trigger/​scissor snap to modify my biker wallet.

The staff here are great they know what they are doing whenever I have a question. They have anything you can think of just ask they will help or they will ask you if you need help

Went in to make a purchase, unfortunately I was on break and wearing my uniform. An employee decided to confront me regarding her prior service with my employer, telling me that she was «mad at me». Maybe she didn’t realize that as a customer, she has no business coming to me with her personal issues. Didn’t catch her name, she was an older, methy looking white lady in a pink shirt. Her manager should talk to her about professionalism in the work place.

While there are two other HDs by my house the San Marcos location definitely has it’s value.
I needed a specific florescent light and my regular HD didn’t have anyone there to help. While standing around looking at the different florescent lights several staffers came by and asked me if I needed help (I guess I was looked lost and confused). Anyway, one guy gave me his recommendation. Knowing I could return anything, I bought what I needed and drove home. They worked!
They also have good help with indoor plumbing questions. You’d be surprised how many times I’ve had to wear the «plumber» hat in my house.
— They have a nice HD car themed shopping carts. While this is much smaller than the Lowe’s version, it keeps the kids occupied while I’m searching for the right product.

Had a great experience with Jeff in tool rental. Took the time to explain the process for my DIY work. Showed me the tools I would need and might need.

The greeter working on 1÷10÷2016 at 1:15 PM was terrible. I just got out of church and was in my nice dress wear and heels and she looked at me with the most disgusted face asking if my feet hurt in ‘those’ shoes. And when I said no she glared at me with disgust yet again. As if being in heels makes me incompetent to enter into the Home Depot when in fact I am quite crafty and handy. To top it off, none of the workers had any idea what chalk paint and chalk wax was for me to redo my coffee table. Never going back to that judgmental Home Depot ever again.

I like this Home Depot for several reasons. It’s close to home, parking is great… tons of spaces, the store itself is pretty easy to navigate and the staff are friendly. I love the garden section! I always find the perfect flowers and plants. I knocked off one star because sometimes it’s virtually impossible to find a staff member for help. That can be very time consuming and frustrating, especially if I’m in a hurry.

Greatest Service EVER! We end up at HD all the time for ongoing projects, but recently we had to replace our french door refrigerator after just 4 years of use! Though we had an extended policy, the reimbursement didn’t cover the cost of a like model fridge, so we had to eat about $ 700 on the transaction. Today I went online and saw it was $ 200 less than 10 days ago when we purchased it… I called in and they honored the new price for me and refunded it back to my HD Credit Card (great deals by the way with financing deals all the time)!!! I am ecstatic… I was always a HD girl, but now I am going to be a promoter :)

I have been in and out of this particular location A LOT over this past month working on home repairs. Here is what I do and do not appreciate about this location. I do appreciate the quality of their flooring installation and process. It was a smooth process working through them. Communication from the buying the carpet with my ninety year old grandmother, to the measurement apt through the actual installation I had a good experience with everyone sent out.
The minus a star is its really hard to get help here. The greeter cracks me up cause I play a game now called try a new question to get them to move. Ive been told over there and pointed randomly in the direction all the way too straight out told they won’t show me… are they glued there? LOL Anyways, I am getting to know my way around the store by now and they have always had a pretty decent selection. And ALWAYS remember that HDepot always does price matches.

Back in 1978, 2 dudes named Bernard Marcus and Arthur Blank set out to create a mega-​ginormous hardware store in Atlanta, GA.
A little trivia about these esteemed billionaires: Bernie, a former pharmacist, goes by «Prez. B.» and «Dr. B». To his friends, he’s Bernie to the Mth, Jane Austen, Special B and OLD DIRTY. Artie is 72, owns the Atlanta Falcons, and goes by Arthur the Creator, Ghostface Homosapien, A-​Ovah, and most puzzling, «Stinky Dave.»
Their goal was to build stores of 60,000 square feet — the size of which dwarfed any competitor at the time. The facilities would combine a traditional hardware store with a lumberyard, each with enough SKU’s that customers could find any hardware or lumber item they could ever need or want.
Unlike traditional contractor-​centric stores, their vision included serving the DIY (do-​it-​yourself) homeowner. This required them to provide an elevated level of customer service, as a DIY customer would need much more «know-​how» assistance than a trade /​contractor customer.
Well, their strategy was pretty sound (or as Special B likes to say: «Our plan be ballin’!); as today they have over 2200 stores and annual revenues of over $ 80 billion.
There was a time when Home Depot stores were disorganized and dingy, and Lowe’s was my DIY store of choice. Now, things have reversed and I find Home Depot to provide the same level of service; but with far better lighting, aisle width, cleanliness, private-​label brands, and in-​stock items.
Home Depot also has a strategic advantage in their private brands such as BEHR and Martha Stewart paints. These lines have recently expanded beyond paint to other designer items.
The Home Depot private-​label tool lines are: RYOBI and RIDGID. These aren’t especially high-​quality brands but an inexpensive way for a DIY’er like myself to pick up a few ‘project-​based’ tools.

I am so pleased that my husband is a fix it kind of guy! I go to Home Depot with him to help with spatial reasoning (or to find things quickly on the shelves that I am better at finding than him)! I suppose I am good with the details. I have to admit my favorite item at Home Depot is paint! I like the brushes, rollers and sponges too, I enjoy colors, textures, samples, etc. Anything else is his department, which was today’s trip.
I am giving Home Depot an extra star because over the past year or two they have improved their customer service. Instead of you having to look for someone for assistance, they find you and offer assistance. This was null for quite a few years and we would head to Lowe’s and pay a little more for the same thing due to the convenience of better service.
PS This is is a great place to go for a bright Orange bucket with a cool saying on it!

I’ve stopped by here a few times over the years. Parking never seems to be an issue so that’s always a plus.
Honestly, if you know what you want ahead of time, order it online and then pick it up at the store. It will save so much time and energy.
I don’t think certain departments at this Home Depot are all that efficient. I’ve had issues with their electrical aisle a few times. They either have no idea what I’m talking about or the girl seemed just as clueless as me (which didn’t help).
BUT, the wood department is awesome. I was wandering around trying to find plywood and a nice guy immediately sensed my misery. He guided me to the right plywood, helped me choose a piece, and then took me to the back where a nice guy helped me saw the plywood into a few pieces. Did you know they’ll saw the first TWO pieces for free (.50c/​piece after that). Not a bad deal.
Check out was easy as well. So yeah not a bad location.

Watch who they give jobs to, it’s not their employees doing the work. The day the guy finished the job I couldn’t be there, my 83 year old mother was. The guy asks for a tip and also tells her of the extra charges she needs to pay, he says he can let Home Depot know and they can charge her if she wants to do it that way. Home Depot sent people there to give a price for the job and it be 100% paid for ahead of time. After paying, a month later hearing nothing, we call, the person says oh we are waiting for your flooring to come in. We call Home Depot and they tell us it’s been sitting there the whole time. Never again, I will hire someone that does their own work. Beware!

I love this Home Depot! The staff would go out of their way to help you! Although it’s a bit short-​staffed, or maybe because Home Depot is always so gigantic that it’s hard to see anyone sometimes, you’ll always find a staff member if you walk at most 4 aisles. It seems like every section has a staff member responsible for it, e.g. plumbing, kitchen appliances, locks, tools, etc. If you grab the wrong person, s/​he will refer you or call on the walkie talkie to get you the right one.
The shelves are pretty well stocked and organized. No Walmart here. The checkout is also pretty efficient. Self checkout is not a bad option if you have couple of little things.
I had to get a new toilet of a specific model and it’s out of stock. I asked the guy at the plumbing section if there’s anymore at the back. He said he’d go check. Maybe 10 to 15 mins later (yes it’s quite a while), he had a whole pellet of toilets of that model ready to stock up the shelves! To his disappointment and my guilt, in those 10 to 15 mins I found another model that offers a better bargain so I apologized multiple times that I decided to go with another model. He didn’t look pissed off at all and said, «No, thank you for your business! It’s our job. I’m glad you picked out the one you like.» No dirty face and grumbling at all!
Overall it’s a 5 star experience! Those people there are really glad to help and answer questions, and they know what they’re doing and where things are.

A long overdue update…
We did have our custom kitchen island built by Home Depot and Parkson (yes, we dealt with the same person one year later!) really worked with us.
However, their granite contractors are AWFUL. They have two subcontractors (fabricators and installers). We never got past the fabricators– European Wholesale something or other. Their lack of communication was abysmal. Suddenly, prices started changing. I wish Home Depot didn’t deal with them. We pulled out of our contract, got all of our money back because they hadn’t cut any granite yet (their lack of communication delayed everything and that was definitely in our favor!).
