Description

Specialties

For more than ten years we have been providing great food and beverages to folks coming to Historic Downtown San Marcos. We have traditional Irish dishes, coupled with your favorite traditional items. We recently started brewing our own beer, and have several draft beers from other local craft breweries. This is a great Sports bar, with many TV’s, and larger screen viewing areas. We have three pool tables, two shuffle boards, a dart board, and even a foosball table. Although we are known for our chicken wings, several customers remark about how large our nachos and other servings are! Yes, this is a great place to go for great food, but the whole experience is enjoyable. Come see us, what are you waiting for!

History

Established in 2005.

The business was established in 2005. It is housed in a historical building that was built in 1885. The building used to be the largest general store in San Marcos in the early 1900’s. It was mostly used as a furniture store in the mid 1900’s. At one point it housed the Too Bitter, which was a music venue, with an arcade (two bits was the term for two quarters at the time). We have been told and/or seen playlists that included Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, George Strait, Willie Nelson and other artists during 1970 – 1977. The building was renovated in 2005, and is now registered as a Historic Building and has won awards for its design.

I have been in the real estate and restaurant business for over twenty years. I fell in love with San Marcos many years ago. I was attracted to the historic downtown of San Marcos with it’s new restaurants and bars located here. Texas State continues to grow and continues to expand. There is great shopping here as well, a wonderful river that is a treasure to this city! It is a great place to live and play!
