Psychiatric Centers At San Diego

Unfortunately this organization is my only option as a mental health affiliate under my current HMO. I needed to find a counselor for my son and it’s been an absolute chore. There are few providers in this organization who treat children under 16 and the wait time for an appointment is in excess of two months. After waiting on hold for 20+ minutes (after leaving messages that were assured to be returned within 24 hours and NEVER were), I finally managed to set up appointments only to find out just before that one had been cancelled with on explanation and the other had to be cancelled because the counselor was moving! I’ll be posting about the Rancho Bernardo site as well as I encountered more I professionalism. There is a reason ALL the sites for this organization have TERRIBLE reviews! Get a clue. The only good thing I can say is that the staff on the general appointment line have been courteous and helpful… when I finally reached them! I’ll be going out of network even if I have to pay because this organization is worthless.

Horrible and despicable. Gave them 11 years and countless doctors and nurses to make it a better experience. No dice. Don’t WASTE your time! They don’t care about anyone!!!

I was nervous about trying to find a new psychiatrist after moving two years ago to north county. Ive seen my previous doctor for 13 years and have been on my current treatment for 7 years. My spouse and myself felt like Dr. Lowery rushed through his impersonal questionnaire but really didn’t listen to our answers, he was condescending, judgmental, arrogant and even laughed at me. He basically told me that because I was so stable that my initial diagnosis (almost 15 years ago) was wrong and re-​diagnosed me and told me that if I wanted to be treated by him then I HAD to add more medications. One of the first things I told him was that I am fine on my current medication and want to ween off after a few years. He completely disregarded our fears and concerns. Really seemed like he could care less about personal well being but instead wanted to push meds without doing the proper research into the person he is treating and their personal history.
PS The office staff was also condescending and inconsiderate. They tried to discuss personal details about my care in a crowded, small lobby. VERY uncomfortable!
