History

Established in 2013.

Perfect Balance Therapeutic Massage in San Marcos, was founded by Chris Vettel, a Holistic Health Practitioner that graduated from Healing Hands School of Holistic Health in 1997. She spent seven years working at the Four Seasons Aviara Spa in Carlsbad, where she learned and practiced exceptional customer service. In 2008 she was chosen as a founding instructor for MiraCosta College’s Therapeutic Massage Program, where she taught therapeutic massage until Spring 2013.

Chris is fantastic!
I play sports, hike, and exercise frequently. As a result, I am often sore and gimpy. Thanks to Chris all that pain goes away! My friends found her through her «Bring a bib» program, where if you run a race — 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, etc, you can bring in your bib and get a discount on your massage. They had always told me how great of a job Chris does, so eventually they talked me into finding out for myself. I am thankful I did! It is amazing how the pain and discomfort just sort of melt away.
Whether you have a massage therapist or not, you should give Chris a try! Come once, and you’ll never go anywhere else. She is as fantastic as everyone says.

Chris is the most talented, professional, and educated massage therapist I’ve come to know. After getting a massage at Perfect Balance I truly understand why you’d want a therapist who understands the anatomy of the body versus someone who just follows a «routine» in an expensive looking studio. I recently had a massage from Chris and I have to say, it was one of the best I’ve ever had. She listens to your concerns and needs, then finds the root of those needs to address them where they began, instead of only where they are felt. If you really need the «therapeutic» portion of the massage — Perfect Balance Therapeutic Massage is the place to go. Whether you’re experiencing chronic pain like me, or aches and pains from athletics, I know you can find comfort here.

I really liked the ‘how’ of the massage. Meaning: you and your therapist (I have been to your place 2 times so far) — approached the massage from a different perspective. Yes, it was relaxing, but your knowledge of body anatomy, muscle structure and how the ‘pain’ was often due to tight muscles in other areas– gave me lasting results for pain reduction and better daily movement.
I’ve referred you to many friends and family and will continue to do so.

I had one of the best massages ever at Perfect Balance. I even have a degree in massage therapy and can tell you Chris really knows what she is doing. I came in needing serious recovery and had some hip pain. When I left I could tell my body felt normal again and I haven’t felt the hip pain since! First class spa, treatment rooms, ambiance… definitely my favorite place to go here in San Diego.

I had a wonderful experience at Perfect Balance. The spa itself is beautifully appointed and the atmosphere is relaxing. My massage therapist asked a lot of questions to pinpoint what kind of treatment I needed. I hold all my tension in my shoulders and neck, and at the end of my massage I felt refreshed, energized, and relaxed. I had such a wonderful experience I sent my mom to Perfect Balance the very next day as a treat!

My husband and I came here for a massage today after I had received a referral to try them. My husband and I both have bad shoulders (him from working in the field and me from bad posture) and we both felt great relief after our massages. Chris worked on me and I was literally able to breathe better after my massage because so much tension was released in my shoulders and chest. The gal (Brianne…I’m so sorry if I got your name wrong!!) worked on my husband and he said it was the best massage he had ever gotten (he gets them regularly at random places). We both enjoyed our experience so much that we already made another appointment to return (& another date day for me. whoop whoop!!)

Beautiful from the moment you walk in. Amazing décor, heated massage beds, nice music. The perfect place for relaxation and treating yourself. If you excersize at all you must come here! And if you don’t still come here! This is the real deal true massage.
Personally I am a regular runner and do a lot of kickboxing and calisthenic type stuff that leaves me sore and honestly feeling tight a lot of the time. Without even saying anything specific about my sore spots Chris just knew exactly what to do & left me feeling absolutely amazing and re-​energized.
I also get cold easily and loved that they have the heated bed option to keep me warm :)

I just had the most unbelievable massage! Threw my back out this morning picking up my dog. Chris was able to take me at 11 and I was really hoping it would be at least good enough to get me some mild relief. It was way better than that! Chris was very attentive about my problems and we decided together what she should focus on. Her pressure was the perfect amount of firm and she found every tight spot in my glutes, back, shoulders and neck. An hour after this massage, I didn’t just have mild release, my back was fixed! She also sent me home with a few muscle pain treatment samples and advice on how to help with any lingering problems. I didn’t need it, since my back feels like new, but I appreciated how interested she was in making sure I recovered. The facilities are clean, bright and pleasant. Chris had a warming pad on the bed, making it very cozy. She also offered hot towels on my neck, feet and face to ensure I relaxed. I just found my permanent masseuse!
