Although I operate from a Biblical worldview — I am very sensitive to and respectful of the worldviews held by my clients. My goal is always to treat people with dignity, warmth and acceptance. I desire to establish a relationship with them that enables them to feel safe and comfortable tackling the issues for which they have come to see me. I believe that people can change when they are accepted and loved right where they are at.

The University of Tulsa (go Hurricanes!) is where I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1993. As part of my degree program, I completed a one year full-​time clinical internship at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas. As an intern, I completed rotations through Child, Adolescent, and Adult Inpatient Psychiatry, Child, Adolescent, and Adult Outpatient services, and Adult rehabilitation and Neuropsychological services. Immediately following the completion of my internship, I went to work for Terrell State Hospital as a staff psychologist on an Adult Inpatient Unit. After a year, I returned to work full time as a Staff Psychologist at Presbyterian Hospital in Adult Inpatient and Outpatient Services. For the next 18 years I raised two children. I then returned to my profession and opened my practice in 2012.
