History

Established in 1992.

Marla Morrison began teaching private piano & voice lessons 19 years ago just out of college. She later taught at Southwest Missouri Music Studio, which became Palen Music, for over five years where she was an active member in JPTA.

When the owner sold, Marla opened Marla’s Music Lessons. Enrollment grew and her students participated in annual recitals and national competitions. After school time slots stayed very full and students stayed for an average of five years.

After several years of being located in the mid-​west, Marla moved back to the west coast and renamed the music studio Forté Academy of the Arts in North San Diego County. During the first few months in their new location, website development, teacher selection, and a location remodel was completed. During the last year the qualified teachers and staff have seen students enrollment grow very quickly. Clients enjoy state of the art studio rooms & more for music and art lessons (including two Yamaha grand pianos.)

Business Owner

Mrs. Morrison, owner/​director of Forté Academy of the Arts, has taught piano and voice lessons professionally for 19 years. She has been an instructor, music director, choir director, and song writer. Her students include a 2011 Grammy nominated artist, music producers, music directors, and college music professors. She teaches all ages and levels of difficulty, as well as all styles of music. Her students learn to read and play music by note, by ear, and by chord charts. She develops their song writing and arranging abilities. Her leadership and the team’s commitment to continual learning and developing others has made Forté Academy the premier school of music in North San Diego County.

The qualified and passionate teaching staff at Forté will teach you the songs you want to learn. All instructors have University training or professional recording and performing experience. They are dedicated to learning about your personal musical goals and helping you to achieve them.
