We like to be different. My partner and I have tried to create an experience unlike any other. I learned to love vegetables through stir-​fry. So, we choose a take-​out place with a way to pick exactly what you like, cooked in a healthy way and for a good value.

Ate here for the first time today; I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl and my girlfriend ordered a veggie bowl. Both were really delicious. The chicken was good quality; I’m really picky about meat and was pleasantly surprised by the food here. Good prices for the quality of the food. My bowl came with rice, chicken, broccoli, carrots and cabbage. I would’ve like more broccoli for sure; my bowl had a lot of carrots. No big deal, next time I’ll ask for extra broccoli for 58 cents! We’ll definitely be back! Only a few stools and no tables, so be sure to order your food to go.

Unique flavors keep bringing me back. Every time I decide to go to Tiki Hut it is busy. That’s a good sign, lots of people love it. I do too! Fresh and hot time and time again. Delicious spot to stop in for a bite to go.

Still disappointed with Tiki Hut. They always seem to be out of something and usually mess up the order. Please make the Baja Bowl like it says on the menu!

The bowls are rather small and so is the store where there were 10 people cramped trying to order.
As for the pasta itself, it was extremely oily and the vegetables didn’t taste like anything.

Nom nom nom. There is absolutely nothing like this kind of food anywhere else in San Luis Obispo. It’s a one of a kind restaurant. Get this and only this: Caribbean Chicken Bowl. It’s out of this world! I bet you can’t help but to eat every last bite. It’s the perfect combination of hot and sweet. Tender chicken and always perfectly cooked. Be advised all toppings are like .50 extra, so it’s best to just add your own at home.
The staff is very sweet and even when it’s super busy (which is most times) your order will be out in under 5 or 10 minutes.

The food is too salty and too oily
The sweet and sour sauce they use is just Mae ploy sauce and they put way too much of it. The whole bottom of the bowl is oil.
Also I would not add the veggie. Not worth it. I added mushroom and onion but those are hard to be found in the bowl.

Food as fuel only. The shrimp were tough, overcooked and pretty terrible but the Caribbean chicken bowl had decent flavor if not a lot of protein/​veggies. Service wasn’t very friendly although the tiny interior is kinda cute. I think I will pass next time.

I understand that veggies cost more then rice and pasta, but couldn’t you have offered that instead of shorting me on food? I trained hella hard today in the gym and was starving, my stomach is growling and im still hungry. I would have payed an additional cost for extra veggies. I got the teriyaki chicken bowl, with no rice. was yummy, but Still hungry, thanks

I’ve been here a few times and have gotten one of their carribean chicken rice bowls each time. It’s been awesome every time! They’re really filling and everything tastes great. I guess it can be a bit pricy (especially if you decide to add things to it) but its pretty worth it.

I had a bowl of their potatoes with shrimp and two veggies and it cost nearly $ 8. It was underwhelming for the price. There were only 4 shrimp, and they were overcooked and tough. Just a bit disappointing. I assume the smart thing to do is to order one of their typical bowls, like the caribbean style, etc. to get a better value.

The pasta bowls are so tasty and filling. I particularly enjoy the primavera pasta. Everything on the menu is cheap, the only down side is that the place is very small.

I think it’s this whole complex. Everyone is very uptight and sort of rude.
No one went out of their way to be polite, smile or offer assistance or go anywhere out of their way to provide any sort of «service».
The bowl I had was only okay. The rice was overcooked, and the vegetables and meat were cooked hastily and not seasoned.
The place is so small that it’s not inviting to stay.
THere are no bathrooms apparently in the whole complex and if you ask, you’ll just get looked at like you’re an idiot for asking.
Long lines can form quickly here at lunch time and the wait time is decent, but if someone ahead of you puts in a large to-​go order be prepared to wait more than normal.
I was looking forward to this place after reading some of the glowing reviews, but I just felt the food was too simply seasoned, the sauce too thin, and the service way below par.
Though I work with people who love it, so I may be back and will hope for a better experience next time.

It’s true, the caribbean chicken bowl is out of this world fantastic. Lots of flavor and spice, delicious chunky chicken, and spiced up rice. Very reasonable at $ 6.10. i came here about two years ago and had a teriyaki chicken bowl that tasted like it was from the freezer; either they have really improved since then or it was an off night. I will be back :)

People giving this place anything less than five stars are crazy. I’ve been here countless times and never have I ever run into a problem. The food is TOO DIE FOR. Caribbean Chicken. Do it. Just warning you though– eat it slowly because it gets very spicy. This is the type of food that’ll make you cry over your last bite. You never want it to end. Prices are reasonable. You can watch the guy cook it all up in the back.
If you live in slo county and have never been here– you’re doing it wrong.
