History

Established in 2001.

SLO auto glass and tint is actually a DBA the original owner of the business name the company Horizon West auto glass. I purchased The company in 2004 Jerome my office manager was with the company when it started. We had worked together for a larger glass company from 97 to 99. So I knew he was the right man for the job and was confident the company would thrive. My business plan was simple I listen to my mom she’s had a thriving hairstylist business my whole life and I always admired her connection with her customers. Her advice was simple take good care of your customers and they’ll take good care of you.

So this place did a great job on the actual tinting of the car. I’ve only had it for a day but it came out great and I will update it if I find anything wrong with bubbling or streaking throughout the day. They also gave me a fair price, a price that seemed to be better than all the other places around town.
However, I gave this 3 stars because of how I received my car back. When I first got to the car and looked at it, all I could focus on was the tint. When I came back home, all I could focus on was how dirty they left my car. You can see all of the liquid that dripped from the windows when they were spraying the car down. They could have easily just wiped that stuff down as it starts dripping and continue with the job but now it’s highly visible because I have a white car and all the dirt from the air stuck right to it while it was wet. I will add pictures to this review later but wanted to get this posted so that if people find this review, you can realize that this place will NOT give you a clean car back. The tint looks great, the price is great but man the car is dirty.

I was driving to SLO in a rental and got a nasty chip in my windshield. I called and gave them only about ten minutes’ notice that I needed it repaired. They immediately went to work as soon as I pulled up and they had completed the repair in the time I spent on hold with the rental company to find out what to do. Unfortunately I had not been in a situation like this and didn’t realize they would have swapped the car for me, and the rental company wouldn’t cover the cost of the repairs despite the insurance I had paid extra for. When the guys at the glass shop heard I was footing the bill they discounted the cost of the repair. They were all really pleasant people to work with and made a potential weekend ruining experience a really minor stop.

I live in Hawaii, and was only in SLO to pick up my late-father’s truck for shipping back to Hawaii. This place was recommended to me, so I called and asked if they could repair the windshield seal (since with the rain outside, it was raining INSIDE the truck). They told me to bring it right in; I explained my situation, and they were courteous and mindful of my time constraints. They kept in touch with me every step of the way; as it happens, they needed to repair some rust and install new glass. In a situation like this, they COULD HAVE taken me for a ride — but DIDN’T. The price was fair, the service quick, and they were as friendly as they could be. I picked up the truck and drove it to the port in Oakland, the glass held tight, and there was no wind or moisture coming through. I am ONE HUNDRED PERCENT satisfied, and would recommend this place to anyone. Mahalo and Aloha!

Had my windshield shattered by a baseball. Called San Luis Glass and they drove to my house in Morro Bay for the same price as driving to their shop. Price was very reasonable and the window looks very good with none of the distortion and uneven surface you can get from other auto glass businesses. They are a good business to deal with!

Had my windows tinted and parts of the tint wouldn’t stick. I was given explanations like chips in my window, dust, creases in the tint, old glue (left by them), which I can understand to some extent but it looks like crap to me. I came to the shop four times to try to resolve the issues I was having with the tint, my main concern was the left over glue. Each time I left dissatisfied. It’s only when I came in the 4th time the owner took the time to explain the reason behind some of the issues I was having with the tint. They said they would have to replace the entire tint again to try to fix the issues I was having, but they gave me the impression that they really didn’t want to do that. They kept telling me that my tints quality is still there, aka it looks like shit but it still works. Wtf? I was offered a reconciliation service for my inconvenience but I turned it down, because I just wanted quality tinted windows, not excuses. At this rate I didn’t want to associate with these people anymore but I’ll be sure to refer anyone and everyone if they want a 99% tint job to hit this place up.

I was really hoping to get good service from this place. I did not. My car needed a replacement window right away because it was broken into during the rain storms in December. They gave me a good price and ordered the window, and they said it would be in the next day… I waited while they took my car back to fix it. They came out and told me they had ordered the wrong window. At that time, they covered the window well with plastic. I rescheduled for Dec. 11 and requested an 8 AM appt. They said okay. I got there at 8 AM, no one was there and apparently they scheduled my appt. during their Christmas breakfast. No one showed up till 8:45 and the manager was not available. I was pissed, but I let them fix my car anyway. I was there and I needed it done. They replaced the window, but when they removed the plastic the tape ripped off some of my paint right underneath the window. They are going to buy me some touch up paint. I was not happy with their service and I won’t go their anymore, the manager never called me and he was never reachable. Very CRAPPY service!

Good tinting but took 3 hrs to do and made a MESS of my car! Just had it repainted and they already created 6 scuff marks on the sides and left spray all over my car. Did they wash it like other tint shops? Nope, they just smeared it all over. Check out the black car with the smears above.

Called yesterday to get a quote on my 2013 Nissan Altima they quoted me $ 230.00 for my front windshield which was the cheapest in Atascadero and Paso. Schedule an appointment for 10am they were here on time and got it done with in 2hours! Very clean job. Looks great and best of all they come to your home!

Was coming into SLO from out of town and called to see if I could get my windshield fixed while I was in town for two days. I think it was the owner that answered and was very nice, and able to get my windshield in stock the next day, and scheduled my appointment for that same day. Was very surprised they could squeeze me in. When I arrived they also were able to scrape my side windows for half price since I had done a very poor job of doing it myself and there was goo on the edges. He even shuttled me to a restaurant so I could have lunch while I waited. Only took a few hours (had to let it dry) and i was out. I would suggest this place to any of my friends still living in SLO.

I just needed to get a small crack in my windshield filled in so it wouldn’t get worse. I called San Luis Auto Glass & Tint with about 1,000 questions, most of which I’m sure they get all the time. The guy I spoke with was extremely courteous and patient in answering all my questions in detail. He was very helpful, gave me a quick estimate, and let me know to just call ahead and make sure there was a technician available when I wanted to bring my car in.
He worked very efficiently and even had a friendly conversation with me while he was at it. I was in and out in less than half an hour and for less than what I thought the cost would be.
While I was there I asked for an estimate on tinting my windows, which was very reasonable as well. I will definitely be going back here to have that done and for any other glass repairs I need!
