Precision Door Service

I had an issue with one of the technicians in the past, but I thought I’d give them another chance because the receptionist was so nice. This time they sent out the owners son John and he was amazing and said they got rid of the guy. John was very professional, courteous, and prompt! He was there when he said he was going to be there, and gave me a great deal after hearing about my negative experience with their former technician, he made everything right! Very honest and genuine people here now!!! And yes they are locally owned.

Is it not suspicious that this company only has 5 star or 1 star reviews? They tried to charge us $ 699 to replace our garage door opener. I was home and my husband was on the phone with them from work. They were waiting in the car for my husband to give them the ok to work. My husband called me and asked me what I thought. I said let me call around and find out. Lowes sells garage door openers for $ 160-​$ 260 dollars. They charge $ 118 to install. I called my husband to tell him. He called them and told them that we would shop around and get back to them. Suddenly they decided that $ 450 was enough. We said no again. Then we got a phone call that went to voice mail from headquarters asking what can they do to earn our business.
After my husband told them no (over the phone, and I was in my house watching through the window) they started to drive away and then one of them jumped out and ran back into our garage. He did not have anything in his hands when he left, but interestingly enough our previously sort of working garage door is now not working at all.
Don’t trust these people or let them into your house!

Matt is such an excellent guy. He doesn’t «sell» his product. He advises and then rewards reoccurring customers. I would highly recommend this company. Great service, honorable, and fast.

Cody from Precision Door was very knowledgable. He came immediately when we called, and fixed the problem quickly. It wasn’t done correctly in the beginning and he made it right. We will definitely call him again for any garage door concern.

I called with an emergency when i noticed my garage door was not operating correctly. I had an appointment set up immediately. The technician was promptly on time. He quickly assessed the situation and was able to locate the problem with ease. He then provided me a quote for the services that were necessary. I quickly agreed, and he promptly began fixing the door. He was done within 25 minutes!!! The most awesome service, professional staff, and pleasant experience ever! I highly recommend them!!!

Awesome service. Friendly, knowledgable, and exceptionally easy to work with. John was our technician and owner of the central coast branch. He was easy to talk to and answered all my questions, even giving me a quick lesson on how garage door mechanics worked. The best part was I had called only for a quote for the door (which was pretty mangled and in dire need of service) and when John came out he not only quoted it at a fair price for what was needed but also said he could fix it on the spot! I thought I would have to make some separate appointment and deal with a ton of people to get service like usual, but John had the door working like a charm within the hour. I highly recommend this business, thanks for the awesome work!

Very prompt, and the guy they sent (Corey, I think) was really courteous, quick and helpful. I appreciated that he didn’t try to sell me on weird extras and that he explained the problem and fix clearly. The door is running WAY smoother than it was before it broke. Very happy.

Imagine coming home after a long day, rolling up your garage door, pulling in the garage and all of a sudden POP goes the garage door chain and the door is stuck half way. No fun! Well, that’s what happened to me. A quick call to Precision and over comes Mike. He was so wonderful to quickly repair the garage door chingy and chain and all that jazz. I really appreciated his professionalism, quick, clean and awesome work. The cost was reasonable and he even processed my credit card payment «jonny on the spot» — I would definitely refer him to my friends and family! Five stars and all that jazz!

We needed a new motor and rollers. Service was fast and efficient. Same day service. I would recommend them.

Precision Garage Doors came out and gave an estimate to basically replace everything but the garage door. Their quote was over $ 1,100. We called another company and they fixed the problem for less than $ 200. The technician was VERY pushy, even suggesting that we make the door fall off. Would NOT recommend them.

Terrible customer service. Avoid! We ordered a new garage door and was told it would take two weeks to be delivered and would be installed within a few days of being received. That was 7 weeks ago. Had to prepay for the door when it was ordered. Was finally told the door came in after trying to track them down for two weeks. They did not show up for scheduled installation this week and now they are not returning calls again.
Working to get money back with credit card company. Go elsewhere, their bid was the same as other quotes we got before ordering.

I responded to an ad for a garage door tune-​up. The technician showed up, opened the garage door, disconnected the opener and let the door come crashing down to the floor. 5 minutes later I had a $ 650 quote to replace the springs. It seemed a little ‘fishy’ that the diagnosis was so quick. I told him I would think about it and I still had to pay him $ 40 for the door crashing /​5 minute effort. He even told me that my electronic ‘memory board’ was worn out from opening the heavy door and may need to be replaced.
The next day I called another repair service and $ 65 tune-​up later the door is like brand new. Seems the first technician’s diagnostic ability was exaggerated just like their quote.
My advice is that if you get a quote from these guys… always get a second quote. You will probably save a tremendous amount of money.

I had high hopes for the business; they are local, and the son of the owner was the one to come out and explain my options. To that point everyone had been great, until they took my money.
On June 1 when I ordered my door, John (son of the owner) explained the process would take three weeks to order the door, at which point I would be called and scheduled for installation. He took my $ 1,000 deposit, only to call me back three days later to inform me I couldn’t have the door I originally wanted.
After selecting another door (since the door I originally wanted would have been more money), he confirmed he would order the door and someone from his office would be in touch.
Fast forward a month and I still hadn’t received a call about the status of my door. I called John and left a message, who didn’t return my call but rather passed me off to his office as if everything was ok, and the office miraculously called me that same day to schedule my installation.
Since nothing ever works perfectly, it took a few additional weeks of calling back and forth to actually reach a live person in their office to get to door scheduled.
The original date for installation was 8/​4, and the tech was supposed to arrive between 9 and 10. At 11 when no one showed up I called the office to leave a message about whether or not my tech would be here that day. When I still hadn’t received a call at 2:00 p.m. I called the office back, actually got a live person on the phone, who immediately put me on hold. After 5 minutes on hold the woman explained my tech had quit that day, and I was the first person to let them know about it. hmmm.
Regardless of the truth to story, my installation was rescheduled for ⁸⁄₆ and the tech was again supposed to arrive between 9 and 10. At 9:30 Matthew, the tech, calls me to let me know he’ll be an hour out, and that everything 10 feet into my garage needs to be moved. I explained we don’t keep anything in there, and that John said nothing had to move when he came out in June.
Matthew finally arrived at 11:06 (well past the 9 — 10 original arrival time, and 30 minutes past when he said he would be here when he called) and gave me a really hard time about the pool table. They said they were just going to move it, which for anyone that has a pool table knows that is not OK. As patient as I’d been through the whole process I finally put my foot down and asked them not to move it.
Matthew, the tech was extremely rude, and has essentially given me the cold shoulder and dirty looks the entire time, brushing me off when I have questions about the door being installed in my own home.
I called John to explain this entire situation, but again only got his VM. He apparently called Matt (the tech) though, because when I exited the house he said something to effective of «I’ve got to go John, we’ll talk about this later» while looking at me. Sure made me feel good as the customer that the tech and the owner were talking about me behind my back, and I still haven’t heard from John.
The door is being installed now, and I have no doubt it will be fine. The guys are just straight up jerks; I just don’t appreciate being dismissed again and again, will never recommend this company to my friends and family (who wants to get treated this way!), and certainly won’t ever have good things to say about my experience.

They are so responsive and I get them on the phone without leaving a message. They come when you need them, arrive on time and do a really, really good job. I would not use anyone else!

Are garage door spring broke so, the door stopped working. I did my research and decided to call Precision and was very happy with the work done. We ended up spending more but, we now have the quietest garage door ever! Like new! We had a very old motor so decided to get all the replacements and they have a lifetime warranty. Corey was the technician and he was very knowledgeable about the products, costs and benefits. He was on time and finished the job in a reasonable time. He programmed our cars to open garage too. We highly recommend Precision and Corey was great.

Precision Door Service had to come out twice in 3 days… for different reasons. The first time the main spring snapped and we couldn’t get our door up — meaning we couldn’t get our car out. I called about 7:00 P.M. and somebody was here by 9:00. Matt was very nice and professional. 2 days later the motor broke and Matt came back and did a total fix-​it job on both of our garage doors. I don’t know how they compare price-​wise to other companies, but I do know that I am very happy with the job he did AND he left the area spotless — taking all of the cardboard up to our recycle bin.

Outstanding Service.
Very professional. Fast and reliable service at affordable price. The tech took the time to explain the repairs needed.

The good: The receptionist was great, and got someone out to the house right away
The bad: The technician who came out said our system was too old and he couldn’t simply program or replace the remotes; we would need to purchase either a $ 250 piece of «add-​on» equipment or $ 450 brand new garage door opener.
The ugly: We just had the fobs replaced by someone else (3 remotes — $ 150) in less than 5 minutes at the house. Do not trust them.
