There are few people more passionate about serving seniors than Chris Skiff. His entire life’s work has been focused on developing outstanding senior’s communities. With his award-winning communities he seeks to shatter the «older folks home» stereotypes that prevents many seniors from considering the truly improved quality of life that is available in communities such as The Manse on Marsh.

A UCLA honors graduate, Chris began developing affordable senior apartments at just 23 years old with the largest developer of its kind on the West Coast.

Mr. Skiff has been happily married to his college sweetheart for over 20 years. They have been blessed with 5 wonderful children, two of which were adopted from Russia. On any given day, you just might see one or more of them working, playing music, or otherwise happily interacting with residents at The Manse.

Don’t know about the services they offer here but they set up an interview for me to possibly be hired and the man never showed even though he suggested the time and place BEFORE they actually opened their doors that morning. So I called but obviously no one was there to pick up. So after 2 and a half hours of waiting I decided to move on with my life. They called later that night winding what happened to me. Very disorganized. They said the man will call back to apologize, explain himself and set up a new interview date. Yea bever heard from them again. Good luck getting a job with these unorganized snobs.
If and when I need homing services for my elders, they shall NOT be brought here. I’m surprised these employees are in charge of real human beings even they themselves can barely find the door.

I have watched a 95 year old grumpy woman, bloom and enjoy her life once again with friends. The laughter and smile in her eyes has returned thanks to the staff and facility. She doesn’t hide in her room, she is never in it. If not for yoga, activities around town, crafts, horse races, tea parties, ice cream socials, bridge, etc. While the extra attention that the staff puts on their dining experiences for their residents, make them feel extra special too! Way to go Manse! With this ever changing age of our parents living into their prime, Thank you for making them feel welcomed and giving our generation a safe and secure environment!

I have been so impressed with The Manse on Marsh. Our mother moved in recently and our family/friends cannot say enough about the exceptional service, beautiful facility, outstanding amenities, and overall professionalism exhibited by the staff. Chris, Ron, Kathy, Christopher, Madison, Jim, and the entire team have been awesome. They treat us like family.
The Manse on Marsh has created a very special environment. It is definitely not your ordinary assisted living facility. I highly recommend it be considered for any assisted living needs in San Luis Obispo.

Beautiful place on the outside. After visiting my parent for a few days you start to see some ambivalence toward their residents. Movie start times are forgotten forcing residents to hunt down someone, a hair in my food plate and a filthy cart that’s used for room service. Unfortunate to hear the moans is discontent from a few of their residents that don’t feel they are taken seriously by the upper management. Much of the staff was personable, friendly and caring.

There are two large facilities in SLO of approximately equal quality and I chose this one because it is closest to my home. The staff is very helpful and efficient. They are always kind with the old ones. I would recommend this place to people who have an elderly friend or relative who is semi independent, but if the person is withdrawing into altzheimers, perhaps a smaller home would be better because the Manse is large and can be confusing to those with dementia. For a smaller home I would recommend Randy’s nursing home above Foothill. Phone 540‑4312.

What an amazing facility, stopped by to visit and I was blown away. I have been to a few assisted living facilities in the past and this is on a different level. The staff is friendly, facility was clean and the amenities are endless.
