Luis Wine Bar is a gorgeous, inviting lounge where you can relax and enjoy delicious local wine, craft beer, fortified wine cocktails, light bites and the company of your friends. Luis offers a wine list from SLO county and the entire Central Coast. Our craft beer list is said to be the best in town, with 4 rotating craft beer tap handles and an extensive bottle list full of special releases and rarities. We serve a light food menu of cheese plates, salumi, desserts and other delights, including our famous «bacon s’mores». Luis also has a beautiful back patio along the creek where well-​behaved dogs are welcome to join you. Business Owner

Vanessa left the Bay Area high tech manufacturing industry to move back to SLO, where she attended Cal Poly, and open Luis Wine Bar. Her inspiration was her love of wine and craft beer and the many enjoyable evenings spent with her friends in San Francisco wine bars. In Luis, she has created her ideal wine bar with friendly people, a warm, relaxing ambiance, her favorite music and a great selection of wine, craft beer and light bites.

I love Luis Wine Bar! They have a great selection of local & imported wines. The servers are always very friendly and helpful to give suggestions. Each month they feature wines from a specific region, and you can do flights. You can also enjoy beer flights, wine by the glass, or wine by the bottle!
The ambiance is really cozy as well! They even have a back patio. This is definitely one of my top «happy hour» spots.
They even allow you bring in food to enjoy with your wine or beer!

Worst service I’ve ever had. Rude waitress who had no costumer service skills. We asked to taste a few wines and the waitress gave us major attitude and said, «I guess.» Would never come back. Don’t recommend. Overpriced food and drink plus bad service makes for a wine bar not worth returning to.

Really loved it. The atmosphere is perfect for a date, great red wine flight. My only complaint would be that we ordered the cheese plate and it only came with 2 of the 3 cheeses that was listed on the menu. We didn’t bother with asking for the 3rd so it is probably our fault. Overall great experience!

We love this place. Perfect place to meet friends or go to with a special person. Great wines and beers. One cool benefit is they allow outside food. We order Thai from next door and have it delivered. Excellent service.

Came in tonight for a pre birthday get together and we had a blast!!! Amazing place super cute… But can I give a shout out to Mallory for working her but off with the million people in here and still checking on us and keeping us happy! Great job girl!!!

Stopped by for drinks before dinner. Great place for wine and champagne. Not very loud and great attentive bartenders. Would recommend to anyone wanting a great place to hang out and enjoy a drink

Great selection of both local and international wines, I’ve come here on multiple occasions — meeting up with friends and even studying (they’ve got fee wifi and sometime wine just beats coffee). They also have a great lounge area out back that I feel like not a lot of people may know about. Definitely a go to spot for a casual low key night.

It was Farmer’s Market and they had only one bartender from 7 – 9. I felt so bad for him! Inside, I ordered a yummy looking wine cocktail and my companions two beers, and while one of us got their drink immediately, my other friend and I waited for about ten minutes for ours; But our service was friendly, the company lovely and the drinks were cold, so it’s hard to complain. I’ll be back on a less sweltering night to enjoy the super cute outdoor area with fairy lights and rolled blankets.

Very open and relaxing bar with reasonably priced wine list, nothing that is going to break the bank or intimidate. You may want to use the Vivino app on your phone to scan the wine list and get a nice report on each of the wines.

This is an unexpectedly cool spot.
Came here for a sour beer night during craft beer month.
The place got packed!
They ran out of glasses and had to ask people to turn them in to wash so they could serve others. Wow.
I don’t know what their normal beer carry selection is as they had all local sour beers the night I visited, but the servers/​bartenders were all clearly knowledgeable about wines and beer and could easily talk and discuss each in their own right. Kudos.
I had people rave to me about some of their epic wine offerings and tastings, so I’ll want to come back for that.
The interior is cool with a good selection of tables, booths, high-​tops, and comfy chairs/​sofas, I liked that.
I will come back and hang out sometime soon.

Met a couple friends from out of town with my wife. Luis wasn’t very busy. There was one employee working, but that didn’t take away from the service we received. We ordered a wine flight and a beer flight. The sour they had an tap from alchemist was very good, one of the few sours I liked. Double ipa was great, stones enjoy by, and the stout were very good as well. Interesting that they poured the tasters in wine glasses though. If your looking for a variety of high quality beer l, this is a good place to check out. The only thing is they don’t have a lot of beers on tap (5 when I went).

Luis wine bar is very good. The service is pretty fast, especially considering there was only one person working. I ordered the South African white wine flight, it was very tasty! My husband got a beer flight which he also loved. This place is great if you’re looking to grab a drink with friends!

Thought this was a pretty nice little place. Very relaxed feel with plenty of seating on Friday night, but still didn’t feel empty. Ideal place to sit and have a good beer or interesting wine as their selection of both was broad. A bit more upscale too so a good place to savor your drink, listen to some good music and enjoy a chat with friends. One big downfall might be the staff there; possibly the slowest service I’ve had in a while and there were three staff for about 5 – 7 groups. They were friendly and polite when they did come around, but would have appreciated them checking on us more. Would have given then five stars if the staff had been a touch more attentive and would have liked a few more options of their draft beers, but they did have a ton of bottles. No food that I noticed here, but not a big negative and I will definitely be back.

Really cute wine bar on the main drag in San Luis Obispo. My friends and I wanted to do a little mid-​afternoon wine tasting on a Saturday, and surprisingly, we found ourselves all alone with no other patrons. That was fine by us but apparently San Luis Obispans don’t take their day-​drinking as seriously as San Franciscans.
They have an extensive wine list and a number of different types of wine flights. I got the Southern European white wine flight which was a great selection of wines and perfect for the afternoon. The bartender was really nice in walking us through the list of wines.
We also ordered some bar snacks — jalapeño artichoke dip with crostini was delicious, as you would expect.

My favorite wine bar in SLO. According to me (trust me, I’m painfully cool), this is one of the few cool places in town. Great wine list and a delicious cheese plate.
Plus: the most beautiful and lovely-​smelling bathroom I’ve ever experienced in a wine bar. This may be a result of a female owner.
