Our showroom is in beautiful San Luis Obispo, CA and we also have a 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse located in Arroyo Grande, CA that is filled with extraordinary antiques and contemporary furniture, accents and accessories. We provide personalized interior design and decorating services, as well as extraordinary interior plant design.

This was one of the best shopping experiences I’ve had. Barbara is my new favorite person and I can’t wait to come back again! The showroom is so tastefully curated it made me want to move in.

Went in asked a few questions about their sofa sleepers and the sleeper mechanism. The dark haired lady with glasses behind the counter was very rude and snobby. They offered me a brochure and when I asked about the sleeper mechanism pulled it out of my hands. Don’t buy from these obnoxious snobs. Sounds like the sleeper mechanism in their sofa sleepers is an inferior product. Walked in to buy a houseful of furniture walked out without any desire to return. Went across the street to San Luis Traditions, they were super helpful, very polite — and have the most comfortable sofa sleepers you could imagine — the mattresses made by American Leather are top of the line, unlike the trash at Habitat.

Walked in on a whim, just wanting to get inspiration for future furniture purchases… walked out with some beautiful, one-​of-​kind pieces that didn’t kill my bank account! The associates were so friendly and knowledgable about the pieces, I couldn’t NOT buy them. There are some brilliant statement pieces here, and it was just so easy to close the deal and get my items delivered (at a very reasonable price and within the week!), we’ll be headed back for more beautiful, well-​made furniture soon.

Such a great and interesting variety of furniture. I especially liked the table tops that look to be made out of just the trunk of a tree then stained. A little bit on the speedy side, but considering it has so many unique things and is in downtown SLO that makes a lot of sense.

At first everyone was so friendly and helpful. LOVED working with Barbara. She recommend we go to the warehouse and look since we needed to furnish an entire house. We got to the facility and saw a round copper table that we just loved and made our purchase and said we would call them and arrange a delivery date. When we got home we were doing our measurements and realized that the table would not work. Two days later we informed them that the table wouldn’t work and we wanted a refund or to put a credit toward the TWO $ 6000.00 sofas we were going to order. They would not do it. Said it was a custom piece (???) and they didn’t do returns. NEVER were we informed that it was a «custom piece» nor that they didn’t do returns. It has been such a nightmare and now we are taking them to small claims court (and still almost 3 months later have not taken possession of the table). I have two custom pieces in my home and they ARE custom. I chose style, color, dimensions, knobs, hinges… ect. Yes that is a CUSTOM piece.
We finally went to Donna’s Interiors in AG. We should have started there. I did get two custom pieces from them and of course asked about the return police and was told if we don’t like it we don’t buy it. NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! We loved both pieces and our experience there.
Since all of this has started, we have spoken to several other people who have had very similar experiences with Habitat. Please be careful if you choose to shop there.

I had a 9′ bench built by them and a custom cabinet to fit against our subzero fridge that so many people comment when seen. They treat you like family and are so helpful with ideas and certainly cater to the client.

Simply tremendous. They say that quality is remembered long after price is forgotten… well how about getting great quality at a reasonable price? This place rocks!!! Got a chance to meet Tony… friendly, hilarious, knowledgable, the whole nine. Recommend.

Not only does the store have a nice selection, Barbara is awesome. My review is really a result of the customer service she gave us. We happened upon the store while driving through SLO looking for a place to eat for lunch. Barbara was warm and welcoming and funny and even recommended a place for lunch. We look forward to returning next time we are in the area!

don’t you just love the smell of a store with incredible designs?
we happened across this shop while strolling downtown SLO. while i agree that they can be a bit pricey, and most of the offerings are for furniture pieces, they also have fantastic decorative pieces that are unusual and affordable. we bought the floor model swag lamp that was made of dried flower pods, and decorative stemmed flowers that were made out of shells.
the sales associate was very friendly and helpful, and wrapped each item delicately. it is one of those stores where you see something different with each pass through.

I got wood. Actually, this place has wood. Tons of it. It’s a somewhat high-​end furniture shop with tons of items made out of expensive woods.
I saw a bad ass Portico table with a Portico bench for $ 2500. It will be mine… someday.
The store is very nice, and they have lots of nice stuff, but you need to be a baller to get something from here. I enjoyed looking at the tables. 99% of what they sell is unique and one of a kind. There was this long table there that after it was shaped into a table had dents, marks, from the cut of the tree they used. It was pretty damn amazing. It was as if the artist of nature personally signed it.
They also sell fine bars, chairs, etc…
Mark my words. I.Will.Have.One.Of.Those.Tables.

This is my favorite home store in San Luis Obispo. I have yet to buy anything from there, but that will change once I graduate and actually have money to spend there. Nevertheless, Habitat has really good quality furniture and accessories that give off such a warm feeling. I want my house to look just like Habitat.

This place would be the best place to furnish a place if I was gay, not that I wouldn’t love an awesome plant in my entry way but most of this stuff is high class and I’d probably ruin it within a week of buying it.
I went there purely for candles, they didn’t have much of a selection as the candles were placed all over the store in decorative manners as to such an individual might do. Nothing in the store was cheap by any means but you won’t break the bank on a $ 23 candle that smells so awesome.
They will gift wrap anything you buy that can be and it’s so great to look at you feel bad taking it out of the bag. I managed to leave two of my purchases there while during a trip to SoCal so I was 260 miles away by the time I realized what had happened. A call to the store and they were incredibly helpful with helping me. Next time I’m passing through SLO I will stop there again!

The most beautiful home/​furniture/​garden store I have ever had the pleasure of entering. Imagine dark wood cabinets, bookcases, and bed frames, littered with candles and an original selection of eclectic decorating pieces. With a distinctive nature-​infused vibe, helped by the waterfall curtain near the entrance of the store and the relaxing music playing in the background, at Habitat you feel as though you are walking through a beautiful forest of furniture and home décor.
One of my favorite pieces were the large fishbowls shaped like, well, fish! One of the bowls was filled two-​thirds up with water with rocks in the bottom and a pretty, flame-​colored betta fish resting contentedly in the bowl. One of the saleswomen informed me that betta fish are much more maintenance-​friendly than goldfish and require little-​to-​no upkeep. Good to know!
Another item I took a shine to was a cast-​iron wine shelf, shaped like a gate with double doors opening to round holes for your collection of wine bottles. Pricey at around $ 700, but in my mind’s eye this was definitely going in the wine cellar of my dream home.
In addition, Habitat has a wonderful selection of original candle montages and oil lamps, a small library of home décor and culinary books, and inviting bed linens and comforters. For fans of teak wood furniture and the romantic, candle-​lit home atmosphere, Habitat will be your new favorite shopping destination. If only I had the funds to furnish my digs with its lush offerings!
