First time using coast riders for a quick repair, clutch cable snapped and they were able to have it fixed in less than 45 minutes and back on the road! Super rad knowledgable dudes! Also after showing up in a tow truck they mentioned that they do In town towing for around 40 bucks! Way cheaper than a tow truck or sketchy ass people on Craigslist! definitely coming back!

These guys are all great! I have taken 3 of my bikes to these guys and have been COMPLETELY satisfied with the repairs, results and the price! The counter guys are very helpful and the mechanics in the back nearly always take a moment to explain the repairs they made or plan to make. They are busy and a wait to get in is probably a good indication that they are good at what they do.
I took 1 of my bike to another repair shop trying to support a small local business and my bike still isnt right after 2 visits plus nearly 300 bucks. Now I have to pay again to get it right!

Service at the counter felt unorganized but all I took my Vespa in for was an oil change and they voluntarily checked my brakes and told me how worn they were as well as properly inflated my tires. Little things that can add up. I compare this to another motorsports store in slo that I asked for a brake check when they went to change my tire and I never heard back from them.

I have been going to this shop for 10+ years. They are good and honest. The guys at the counter are great and have an amazing memory helping to know what service was done last on my bikes and suggesting what to look at on my bikes to keep them in tip top shape, and the mechanics are always available to discuss the inner workings of the bikes so I feel like I really know where my money is going. My bike has come back with problems only 2 different times in 10+ years and they have made it more than right both times by not only fixing the issues free of charge, but also doing things like replacing the worn out stock kickstand for free just to make sure I’m happy. The one thing to note is that sometimes a major service can take weeks. It’s not unusual for my bike to be there for 3 weeks to a month if I need them to do something serious. But, for a simple service they sometimes get my bike back the very next day.
Know that this is a very trust-​worthy shop that really cares about their customers and will save you $$$ compared to a dealer.

We have had stunningly poor service here on a technical level and abysmal customer service. When you treat a 16 year old who scraped his dimes together to get his ride to work repaired they you folks did, it’s unforgivable. Your competition gets all their work fixing the messes you create. Poor poor poor.

This shop is great! The water pump on my GS went out on a trip from San Diego back home to Denver. They told me to bring my bike in immediately when I called, and they ordered parts and had me back on the road within two work days. Super nice guys, and best of all, my bike is running beautifully!

These guys know how to take care of tour riders. We needed tires for our BMW GSA part way through our run down the west coast. They had what we needed and had us In and out in about an hour. Coastriders is now on our list of great shops in California.

After getting stuck and having to leave my bike there for week while waiting for parts to arrive. I drove the 200+ miles to retrieve it only to find it still not running right. So my choice was drive back and leave it again or load it up and get it home where I can actually get the timing adjusted correctly. For «The best BMW guy around» I think I’d have to disagree. I was told my bike was extremely cold blooded and it just needed warming up. Like I’d never ridden the damn thing.
Problem is that the mechanic doesn’t ride the bike. The «tech» does and apparently he doesn’t know how it’s supposed to run.

This shop is owned and staffed by riders, for riders and they are flexible and accomodating and thorough with their work. I’ve done everything from oil changes and upgrades on my 919 to restoration work on my ’78 SR500 which worked out well. In the course of three years of repairs and projects, I consider these guys friends and brother gearheads. They always have a collection of interesting bikes for sale to warrant stopping by for a look.

i m again giving kodos 2 this shop, as a former professional chp motor officer in a high density area. i m aware of the importance of a well maintained m/​c. i completely satisfied with all in this shop. 4 –16 years i rode enforcement in san diego, which is a totally different type of riding than city or sheriff’s dept’s. when a chippie motor riding it’s red-​line in every gear and maximum braking all day long. getting up to 80 mph from a dead stop takes a quality m/​c and even those get worn out quickly. riding 3 to 4 thousand miles a month kept me in motor shops all the time. in other words i did not ride to the station and then sit somewhere shooting radar. i prefer to pace and would disabled every radar unit given to me. u want 2 ride take u r motor 2 coastriders. the chilecoker.

Dropped off my front wheel on a Thurs to purchase a new tire and have it mounted. I got a call the following day that my tire was ready to be picked up. I had to remind the service tech that my wheel had been left to have the tire mounted. No problem, I was told it’d be done in about an hour. When I arrived to pick up the tire, I was told they were finishing up the mounting. Several minutes later they told me the wrong tire was ordered (got a rear, needed a front). They offered me two different tires that they had instead. The one I chose was about $ 30 more at no extra cost to me. If it wasn’t for the nicer tire upgrade I would have left feeling much less happy.
I thought picking up my wheel/​tire would be a quick in and out, but ended up waiting about 15+ minutes.

Well, went there when they were bits n pieces… now as Coastriders, both times have had something go wrong after my service. I take it back, they fix it again, without as much as an apology for your inconvenience. I am sorry they are the only game in town… and I think I will travel farther for my next service… not sure what they consider good customer service… it’s not mine.

I am a retired SLOPD officer and we took our work motorcycles here for service. As a result of their friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt service, I began taking my personal bikes here as well. Dan is the best mechanic there is and you can trust your baby with these guys.

I was on a tour of Central Cal when I noticed my rear tire was cording (I know, my bad) I showed up at the shop when it opened on Saturday morning. I got right in and within an hour i was on my way with a new set of rubber. They patiently explained my options and in the end i had the best fitment for what they had on hand. Prices were fair and the work was good…

Coastriders and the guys who work there are the best. I have a Honda enduro bike and travel 100 miles north to have my servicing done there, cause the work and customer service are fantastic, and can’t find anything else like it on the central coast or anywhere around. Recently, they rebuilt and rejetted my carb; it was done very quickly and at what I consider a very reasonable price.
These guys will go above and beyond to solve your problem and don’t try to rip you off with unnecessary service like so many places. The mechanics are great, and the gentleman at the front desk is extremely helpful — they solve any problem you throw at them and focus on your problem not the money!

Got a nail in my tire while riding to Los Angeles from San Francisco. I called Coastriders about 10 minutes before they closed and they said they’d still replace my tire after hours. They had the same tire that I wanted in stock, so that was perfect as well.

Finding a quality repair shop for a BMW isn’t easy on the Central Coast, but these guys are fantastic. I brought my ’04 BMW R1150 RTP in for a 12k checkup, and the price was reasonable. The work on the bike was excellent, and they even troubleshot an issue with my throttle that ended up being a simple, cost-​free fix. What could have been an easy way to pad their pockets was instead an adjustment they did in a few moments for no cost. How often does that happen?
I have taken my other bike to them 4 years ago, and they were excellent then as well. I take all my bikes there now. Ride safe! ~ Dug
