Mass confusion and complete lack of professionalism from day one — we couldn’t seem to get the information we needed (or the costs) in a clear, organized format. We had to deal with missing transportation vouchers (that we found out later weren’t included), a lack of options for cruise shore excursions (that we found out later actually would have been options had we booked directly with the cruise line), and travel insurance that ended up being a total rip off (because we were given incorrect information). Even more disturbing was the fact that some company outside the US that we had never heard of ended up with our billing information because one of the companies that Academy worked with apparently shared a merchant account with that company — this was never disclosed to us. Yikes. The one thing that we did appreciate was the fact that she was able to find frequent flyer flights for the dates we wanted, but that doesn’t even begin to make up for all the other hassles we experienced. We’ll be making our own travel arrangements next time, and disputing some of the charges that we still haven’t received a refund for.
