History
Established in 2009.
Zumba at DC Dance was created from a dream that San Leandro has «drop-in» Zumba each day of the week (i.e. no gym membership needed). It’s been a few years since 2009 and there are now many drop-in Zumba classes in the area. However, only DC Dance has 4 Zumba Instructors (ZINs) co-teaching 7 classes per week. At DC Dance, you can find a pace that works for you and enjoy the 4 unique styles of ZINs Charry, Grace, Kat, and Lili. Plus, we offer Zumba in 3 formats: Basic, Gold* and Sentao (work-out with chair exercises).
*Seniors, people who are not used to exercising, true beginners, and/or people who may be limited physically – Zumba GOLD may be for you. The main difference between Z-Gold & Z-Basic is that Z-Gold is done at a lower intensity. Not as fast, but just as fun!

It’s our absolute pleasure to watch people learn how to be in their bodies & enjoy the experience of dance. Our team has a knack for making choreography easy & hip. We promise to make you look & feel oh so good on the dance floor.
Zumba fuses hypnotic musical rhythms & tantalizing moves to create a dynamic aerobic workout designed to be FUN & EASY TO DO. The 60-minute exercise borrows music, footwork & body movements from salsa, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia, samba, hip-hop & other dances where fast & slow rhythms are combined for an awesome cardio workout. Dancers windmill their arms, gyrate their hips, clap their hands, dip, slide & spin — all to a frenzied beat that leaves them with flushed cheeks, dripping in sweat, & a happy heart.
