Wong Rickey J, DDS

Dr. Wong is amazing at what he does. Finding a good dentist can be hard. I was so used to spending more than half an hour flipping through magazines for a provider who does a half-​hearted job on my teeth that I thought all dental offices were like that. I didn’t know any better. But I found Dr. Wong by chance. It’s close to where I live and walking distance from the heart of San Leandro. The staff is always friendly. The wait is never long. Dr. Wong is so good at what he does. He knows how to make his patients feel welcome and comfortable. If you’re looking for a dentist, look no further. You will be in good hands with Dr. Wong (literally)!

Dr. Wong is the best. I have been visiting his dental office when I was a child and I have always enjoyed getting my dental checkups and teeth cleaned. Dr. Wong has a friendly personality and is always willing to explain in details of what is going on.
In addition, the staff at the office is always friendly and helpful. Wait is certainly not a concern because schedules with Dr. Wong is mostly very timely. I have never had any scheduling issues with Dr. Wong, and his office is open on most Saturdays. This is helpful for those who don’t have time to go to the dentist on workdays.
I strongly recommend Dr. Wong.

I’ve been going to him since I had teeth.
I was really bad about my teeth as a kid so as you can imagine I always went in for a teeth cleaning. But even as an itty bitty child, I remember his chinatown location. Always very clean with a fish tank out in the waiting area. Stocked with magazines and a door that buzzed anytime someone walked in.
I never understood why people were so scared of going to the dentist when I had such a great one who always makes sure I’m okay.
In highschool I had to get a root canal on my front teeth but any work that he’s done on me was with my comfort and well-​being in mind. We’re currently working on my implant for my front teeth and the oral surgeon could not compliment his work enough! My gums look great and I will update this with a before and after picture as soon as its all finished. He is such a considerate person and I would not go to any other dentist!
I cannot recommend him enough because he does try to work with you and really get to know his patients!

I love Dr. Wong, I have been going to him for years and would refer him to anyone! I actually took how great Dr. Wong was for granted until a few years ago I changed insurance carriers (I think it was like dental HMO or something) and they selected a primary dentist for me. I checked and Dr. Wong wasn’t in my network so I went ahead and made an appointment with the new guy. I went for a cleaning and I felt like it wasn’t thorough and he just sped through it. It was like the fast food equivalent of dentists.
What I love about Dr. Wong is his cleanings are thorough. He takes the time and checks the health of your teeth and works with your to educate you and make you aware of any problems or potential problems in the future. He’ll take out his tooth camera thing (yes that is the technical term) and he will show you a dark spot and let you know that is something you should keep an eye on because it could turn into a cavity. I thought all dentists did this, but I was wrong. Long story short, when I changed jobs and insurance again I went to Dr. Wong after not visiting the dentist for a year or two and I might have had a cavity…
I also get a toothbrush and floss whenever I come in! Just FYI… Until next time I get a tooth reminder postcard in the mail!

The best dentist I’ve been to! He makes going to the dentist bearable by lightening up the tension most people get when visiting the dentist. He will always greet you with a smile and crack a few jokes to help you relax. He is also great with kids. He acts goofy with them and gives them toys after a cleaning.

Visiting the dentist is not something individuals yearn for nor feel excited about, and there’s nothing pleasant about the experience as a whole. I mean who enjoys having someone with dental picks and instruments inside their mouth poking around at their teeth and gums. Well, I don’t cringe at the idea, but I’m not exactly in love with it either. I do, however, love and appreciate good oral hygiene, so that makes the trip totally worthwhile.
So, onto Dr. Rickey J Wong, DDS. He is everything you’d expect from a dentist. He is professional and knowledgeable in his work. He will take the time to explain everything to ensure that you’re on the same page. He has a nice small intimate office that doesn’t feel overbearing at all. I like my doctors and dentists to be personable, and that’s exactly Dr. Rickey Wong.
