I don’t care what anyone says. The papusas are delicious! Hands down the best in town. We’ve always phoned in our order and we’ve never had any issues with customer service. One of the ladies who answers the phone can be very straight forward with a «no bs» attitude, but honestly the food makes up for it. We will continue to order here again and again.

I have to say that is my first Unilocal review that I post ever. However, my experience definitely merits to write something about this place. I had gone approximately 4 years ago to this restaurant as coworkers informed me that the food was quite good at this place. In fact, the food is not bad but not even close to exceptional, however, there is so much to be desired when it comes to customer service, they are downright rude and very slow. After the first experience 4 years ago I thought I would never go back. Today, I was close and it was convenient and decided to give them another shot, very poor decision on my behalf. I encountered the same rudeness and the same slow service. It is terrible I would never recommend this place to anyone!

Came here on a whim and suggestion from a co-worker. I have had Papusas only at one other local restaurant, so my comparison is my only observation. I like this place. The Papusas are not as crispy as the other place I go to. I like crispy. What is it with the salsa at Salvadorian restaurants? They provide no real flavor. The salad here was very good. It is not as spicy as the other place. Another issue is that it is a $ 20 minimum charge to use plastic, but the lady in charge said since it was my first time here she would make an exception. I would come here again with friends as dining alone does not cut it.

The service was less than memorable. We were greeted rudely and with indifference. The person taking our order was impatient and made us feel rushed. The selection of Salvadorean menu items was a joke. The chips were overcooked and stale, the salsa was basically Campbell’s tomato soup with garlic powder. The regular carna asada burrito was full of fat and grissle and very dry. The salvadorean tamales were good, moist and very filling. The papusas were very good. Met our standards. The bathrooms were locked to dine in customers. The wait staff didn’t come to ask how everything was, which is no surprise. All in all, I don’t feel this place is worthy of a second visit. If you want better quality and a much larger selection of Salvadorean food, I recommend the place up on Concord, CA.

There service was terrible! Ive never had such rude people serve me food before in my life. I ordered pupusas and my waitress didnt even give me cortido i had to ask twice for some. And the salsa they give you they were really stingy with. It was like 3 tablespoons inside there salsa cup. The pupusas did not taste the same as before, they were just ok wirh alot of masa. I wont be back, and its sad because this USED to be my favorite place for pupusas.

I order lunch from this place regularly and sometimes stop by on my way home from work. Great tasting burritos every time! So many reviews complain about the customer service, but I think this comes from the fact that the lady who runs the place doesn’t speak much english. I don’t know what those people expect from a hole in the wall with $ 8 super burrito meals. If you want american style customer service with chit chat and over the top politeness, then this place may not be for you. If you are more adventurous, go for it! Conclusion: Great value, great taste and a cultural experience!

Came here with my coworkers. The pupusas were phenomenal! Wish I could say the same for the customer service. The large woman at the counter that rings up your order is beyond rude. Even though the food is great, I will not return to this establishment due to the miserable heavy set woman at the register. The young lady who served us was a gem. I feel sorry for her that she has such a grouchy woman to work with. Two thumbs down for customer service. I will be buying my pupusas elsewhere.

DONOTCOMEHERE! Worse customer service! Wow my family and I just got yelled at in front on the entire restaurant by the owner or whoever the eff the lady is at the cash register. She yelled at us for telling her that her platanos fritos plate tasted a little sour. She got so angry that when I came up to the cash register to pay(because they refused to bring my check to my table) she started slamming things around and took 5 minutes to give me my check. Not only is the customer service horrible, but the food taste old and made with very cheap quality ingredients. I left my entire plate of yuca con chicharon also. Because it tasted old and rancid. If you can avoid this place I suggest you do so! Go somewhere else. There are plenty of delicious Salvadoran food places with yummy food and great customer service!

I am all about customer service. I must say their service was terrible. We ordered to go over the phone. My father had just got off work from a 15 hour shift. When we got there we decided to eat there instead. The lady with an attitude said, «Well it has already been bagged so you are going to have to do it yourself.» Really? That’s how you treat your customers? My father didn’t want to have to drive all the way to Hayward, have his food all cold and plus he had already not ate for 8 hours because of work! Wow! They should really try and make their customers feel welcomed. There’s plenty of Salvadorian restaurants. With: — Better food — Better Prices — MUCHBETTERCUSTOMERSERVICE We will NOT return.

This establishment has the worst customer service I’ve experienced in my life. As a paying customer, I felt like I was treated like I was a none paying customer. On top of that their Burritos are over priced, and dry. I feel like I got cheated out of my money. A microwavable burrito taste way better than what I just bought. The lady who works the register needs to learn how to treat non Hispanic customers with respect. I will no longer hand em my money. Still wondering how this business is still up.

it went from a #5 to a #1! we always eat there and never had a problem we know what to order and how it comes to are table When we asked where is the chips? because we always get chips and hot sauce, and we munch before our meal comes.1. we were told we didn’t get chips when we ordered water with our meal. i inform the lady we always got chips and we had always ordered she bought us some COLD A– chips. i asked her why they were cold we never had cold chips, they were always warm. then we received our(3) papusas, i asked her where is the rice and beans and the salad? i wanted 2 papusas with cheese and laroko and 1 with chicharon. the pork one tasted like dried sawdust. i never had food like that before and i have ate there and we had family parties there. the cheese ones were really good, the service was bad, we tipped the lady cuz she did the best she could. and she didn’t cook the crap. apond my leaving i inform the teller what a bad time and the pork papusa was bad, She inform that i should have told them it was bad and they would make me a new one. but after all the disappointments. i didn’t want anymore. how can u not know when ur cooking bad food.??

Always drive by here when we go to the dental office. One day we decided to drop by and order some pupusas to go for the family. We were greeted by some friendly folks who chatted with us while we waited for our takeout order. The restaurant is a bit small, but the place was clean. All the different pupusas we ordered were quite good. Portion size was just right. Worth checking out, if you are craving some tasty Salvadorean pupusas!

San Vicente is a salvadorean eatery so it makes sense to order pupusas and tamales(3.5) here instead of tacos.(learned the hard way) eats:pupusa(2.5) –zuchinni & cheese didn’t taste the zuchinni, just the cheese. –pork & cheese wonder where the three little pigs were? take outs: –pupusas were huge, fist size, lots of dough, little filling? –curtido(cabbege) fresh –choice of spicy or hot«salsa» –made to order –filling may be small, nevertheless it was all fresh 3.5 stars.

Although the pupusas are decent, the negative part of my rating is based on the place and service. I called the order in. When I came to pick up. … There was 2 drunk men dinning, they were staring at us the whole time! While some really old salvadorian show with half naked women was playing on the TV. The woman behind the counter wasn’t very friendly, specially when we tried handing her our debit card to pay. She pointed at a sign that said if the order is less than $ 20 it had to be cash.(She could’ve mentioned that over the phone when I placed my order) she then nastily told us that we could get cash from the ATM at the liquor store a few doors down… so we went, got the money, came back to pay and get our food then left. I won’t be coming back.

The pupusas are delicious, but the service is definitely lacking. There is no enthusiasm or anything from the waitress. Not even polite small talk or even a hello when you walk in. Service is pretty slow as well. I give them 1 star for service and 5 for the taste of the pupusas so i’ll leave it at a 3 for overall experience. I think the next time we’ll just take the yummy pupusas home!

I love the papusas and Salvadoran tamales here. The service is a bit slow, though everyone is so friendly you hardly notice. Also, it’s cash only if under $ 20. And the ATM At the liquor store is almost always out of service
