This is a third generation business started by «Cool Al» Klaas back in 1963. Since then the family has been committed to offering personalized service to our local and now nationwide customers. Brought in gas tank that had sat on a vehicle for a long time. They took a look at it and told me it was basically a good tank that could just be cleaned out a little. They offered to do it or told me I could do it myself. I decided to do it on my own. They did all that for free. Honest place. Real advice. Square deal.

I took my 1997 Dodge RAM in to have the AC evaporator replaced. This is a very big job. The dash has to be removed and if not done correctly can lead to all sorts of problems. While things were apart I also asked them to replace the heater core which is in there, too. Price was fair, work was excellent and they’re nice people as well.

I needed a water pump, thermostat and radiator for my 2003 Buick Park Ave. I got a quote from Firestone and decided to junk the car. I then decided to call around and found San Leandro Radiator. Not only did they give me a price that was less than half of others, but the did it the same day. This shop has three generation working there. If your looking for value you need not go any further. This guy is trying to make a living not a killing. It ended in a hand shake. Needless to say after 4 or 5 months the car has not once overheated. San Leandro Radiator can use my name Larry Foster as a reference anytime.

I had my gas tank restored her for my 1971 porsche 911. I pulled it myself and delivered it. The cut it open, thoroughly prepped, completely cleaned and etched the inside, sealed it and welded it back together. They then sanded the weld and sprayed it with Wurth undercoating that I provided. While not a perfect exterior job, they did a very nice and fast job. Plus they are close, very friendly and economical. It was under $ 400 for this comprehensive job. I saved $ 250 removing and re-​installing the tank myself. I was referred to them by EASY in Emeryville. I would recommend them!

I’m so impressed by this shop. We took our elderly mini van here to replace the radiator & hoses. They did the work same-​day and even let me provide my own parts to save money. Free BART shuttle is a major plus!!!

I went in to get a new radiator for a ’98 Jetta after my teenager hit a parked car. They had the radiator there in an hour for about ½ the cost of what the dealer wanted, and about the same cost as online stores after you add in the shipping.
The kicker was that they took the time to straighten and re-​attach the old air-​conditioning condenser for me when all I was doing was buying the radiator — I’m doing the installation myself but happened to have the bent up condenser with me still attached to the old radiator.
They just grabbed a customer for life.

My motorcycle radiator got cut up when the fan blade broke up. I took the radiator to this shop to recore it. They had it ready for me the next day, and it’s working fine. I’m impressed that they know how to handle a radiator from a vehicle that I’m sure they don’t see much of. The price was reasonable, less than half what the dealer wanted for a new radiator. The only down side was that they misplaced my radiator cap, but they gave me a new one to replace it.
I would do business with them again.

Being a woman, it is often intimidating bringing your car in for repairs. Often times you don’t know if you are being quoted fairly or oversold on things you don’t need. However I did not feel like that here. It was a nice family run business that took great care of me.
I brought my Jeep in to have my radiator and air conditioner inspected. After I dropped my car off for a free estimate, they called not too shortly after with a no-​obligation quote to replace my radiator and air conditioning evaporator. Even though they had to order my parts in and remove part of the dash to replace the evaporator, the work was completed the next day and was done for hundreds of dollars less than what the dealership had quoted me to fix it. They even picked me up from Bart.
I would definitely bring my car back here. The price was right, the service was fast and good and the people were very friendly.

Weather is getting warmer and again my Explorer’s air conditioning is on the fritz. These guys fixed the problem in two days, but the cost was over $ 500. Seemed a bit pricey to bring in an electrical specialist to root out the problem. They are nice people though and will take you to BART and come back to pick you up in the afternoon.
