I waited an hour and a half for these idiots to find a completed print job that was ready to be picked up. It was just two prints! TWO! They even didn’t try to help or try looking for it. After all that time, the print was on the completed print job table the whole time. I’ve never been so pissed in my life. I’m never coming here ever again.

Best ODOM in the East Bay area! The cashier is pretty chilled, and the manager is very nice unlike the Hayward one. I highly suggest anyone to go to this store even it is located at a semi-​unsafe area (night).

What the return ink cartridge Alex the cashier refused the refund why because he’s not educated on his job skills rude obnoxious and not people friendly. He gave the manager josh the i_​t manager wrong information. With the i_​t manager came to talk with us his body language showed definite negativity. That’s because of communication from the cashier was totally incorrect. Josh the IT manager after things cool down God said I recognize you you’re in here often…
AAfter discussing after arguing and discussing the manager realized it was for $ 20 any refunded the money after 2 hours driving home and driving back and all the arguments and I use a shins but the cashier at started because of his communication. All he wanted to do was argue. it manger people skills need to be improved. Attitude adjustment for both of these employees need to be looked at thoroughly I will never shop at Office Depot again… The word of mouth is best ever ties thing.n. And it also can hurt the company

I’m a proud Rewards Account Holder for Office Depot and I have always enjoyed shopping for office supplies for my office over the years at several different Office Depot store locations. But I have always enjoyed the location at West Gate Plaza in San Leandro the most. The staff is usually very friendly and knowledgeable, and the products are always very good to choose from. Such as ink cartridges, printing paper, folders, camera’s, and laptop computers. Lastly, Office Depot also has a very good Rewards Program. Points are earned for each transaction and usually it’s double the points on Office Depot store brand items. You can use your membership card or your phone number that is linked to your Rewards Account during transactions. Another great addition with Office Depot’s Rewards Program is being able to turn in empty ink cartridges to add more points to your Rewards Account. And after every three months (after every quarter), Office Depot will cash you out (if the amount is $ 10 or more) and send you a gift card in the mail or you can print it out immediately after it has been issued on Office Depot’s website (
). Transactions on Office Depot’s website also count in the Rewards Program. Prices can be a little high for certain items at Office Depot, but it always could be worse when it usually is at most places. When business needs to get taken care of, Office Depot is usually the place that can get the job done. Just like what the slogan says from Office Depot-​Taking Care Of Business.

I went to the cashier to buy some labels that were on clearance. The shelf clearly marked that the labels were $ 4.98. When the item was rung up, it showed up as $ 21.98! I told the cashier that it is on clearance for $ 4.98. She told me that it’s only on clearance if it has a red sticker.
I did not appreciate that the cashier did not take the time to go to the clearance section to see that it should be discounted more than what the cash register rang up. Plus, why don’t the cash registers already have the clearance price in their systems???
I was not very happy.

This review is specifically for the computer repair, not for retail purchasing. I’ve always liked Office Depot for the latter.
OH MY GOD, WHAT A FIASCO trying to get them to repair my laptop. I paid a few hundred dollars for a «repair» job that let them hang on to my computer (two separate times) for several weeks total — and the exact same problem is still there! Both times, I could tell the instant I took it home and turned it on that the problem hadn’t been resolved — the same message popped up that has always preceded the blue-​screen shutdown of my computer.
As I told the «repair» (haha) guy whose name I won’t mention — I’d totally understand if it turned out that the computer was simply irreparable. I’d get that, and would just suck it up and buy a new one. But to be ASSURED several times that it had been fixed when it was SOOOOOOOOO obvious to even non-​techy me that the same «bug code» message was still present — I don’t know if it’s ignorance, laziness, or complete ineptitude.
The second time, they hung onto it for weeks. I went in several times (and called), and was told several times that it would be fixed very shortly — once, I was told it’d be within a couple of hours. I was PROMISED by two different people that they’d call me back, but they didn’t. When the not-​to-​be-​named guy left me a message telling me that it was basically done (even though the web-​cam no longer worked, something which had never been part of the original problem… sigh…), I called back the next day and asked for him to see if I could come pick it up. «He’ll be right here,» I was told. He never picked up. I called back. Was told the same thing, I hung on hold forever — nothing.
So I drove down the next day, and he asked me if I’d received his phone message. When I told him that I had, and that I’d called him twice and he’d never come to the phone even though the person answering had said he was on his way, he said (this is rich): «Oh — I was probably tired. Or busy.»
That says it right there. They got a few hundred dollars out of me, and my computer no longer has Microsoft Word on it and the webcam doesn’t work —- and the original problem is still there. Worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. I’ll never do anything tech-​related with Office Depot again.

I frequent this Office Depot at least once a week. Staff is always friendly and will go out of their way to show you where something is or ask if you need assistance with just about anything… this customer service makes up for the lack of knowledge with more «technical» questions some team members are not completely knowledgeable with.
Selection of laptops and cameras are pretty darn good… and the best part is that this location in particular is never too busy, so no waiting in lines, ever!

I don’t get it. There is nobody in the store but me and about 20 employees and I can’t get a simple print and fold job done. Next time I go any to kinkos.

this Office Depot isn’t physically hard to get to. it’s time consuming as the stop lights takes forever and the path seems long and winding to get there.

The business there seems not that great. I still can buy a lot of promotion on sales supplies on Sat even it starts on Sun. Therefore, I don;t have any problem buying any on sales supplies on Sat.
The customer service is very bad. they don;t even know what they are selling or doing. I bought a printer and asked for $ 29.99 performace protection. I asked the lady to explain it to me and she said she never sold the plan before. OMG, you are supposed to know it on the first day of your job! That;s basic questions you need to answer. Then she had the manager Angela answer it for me. I said ok to take it. But the lady forgot to charge me the plan. now my printer doesn;t come with protection plan. What a careless, unknowlegable customer service. If the place was not closed my place, I would have never ever gone to that place any more. period!

I like this place. It’s clean and I never yet experienced inadequate customer service. But I only come here to buy office supplies so I never dealt with laptop problems or any kind of service.

This is the closest office supply store near my job so I’ve gone here a few times when we’ve run out of something and I needed to get supplies on an emergency. Definitely sign up for their Worklife Rewards program. I’ve earned approx $ 60 in rewards gift cards and used those to pay for my nephew’s school supplies. Total win!

I took my laptop there on ¹¹⁄₁₂. It was promised back to me ¹¹⁄₁₃. They kept it 40 days. I threatened them with small claims court. They finally fixed it and returned it to me. It was not a good experience at all. Some of the staff are nice and try to help. Others didn’t care. HELLO!!! How would you feel if someone took your laptop for 40 days? One girl in particular was rude and snide and I wanted to snatch her bald. Bitch. May every computer in her future crash and burn.
Whatever. I got it back and it seems to be working very well now. At least they finally really did fix it.
UPDATE– My computer stopped working again in February. They hadn’t fixed it afterall. I had to take it to another shop, cost me $ 249 to fix it right. I was pissed. You know?

I came here looking for a new gaming laptop and had so many questions, but when it came down to finding an employee who worked there I was so lost. All the employee’s were at the register and I saw no one working the floor trying to help customers. It was kind of sad b/​c the laptops here are pretty cheap, but they are mostly HP’s and my last HP laptop broke down easily.

Today happened to be a good day in customer service. That’s only because the person helping me was a trainee, and any trainee at any store tends to be super nice and on best behavior. At least they have a job to pay the bills.
My gripe comes with the ink cartridge recycling program, where you get $ 3 per cartridge, as mentioned above. I went today to purchase a bookstand (if you don’t have one, get one, especially if you’re a student or do massive amounts of reading). Low-​and-​behold, my ink cartridges were denied! I was told you now need to be a member of their rewards club and the ink cartridges will be sent off to some mystical land where they will send you a check in a few weeks.
Eh?! Great, now when I need something, I have to wait to send out my ink cartridges and get a check back. I haven’t tried it but I am curious if this check is a check I can take to the bank and keep the money. If so, I’ll give this place back it’s 3-​stars. But for now, 1-​star for denying my ink cartridges!

DON’T BUY THE OFFICE DEPOT REMANUFACTURED INK CARTRIDGES!
Mine lasted… 5 prints in the span of a few weeks? And then my printer started going crazy, saying that the ink cartridge isn’t compatible. After a «rest period», it decided that it was compatible, but then the print quality was super crappy. I just went back and bought an HP cartridge and voila! My printer is happy and printing like it should be. Saving $ 4 and trying to save the Earth, one cartridge at a time, isn’t really worth it.
I guess it’s not this location’s fault, but I did buy a binder from here and came home only to realize that the cover was ripping at the bottom. And it’s a maze trying to get to/​leave Office Depot.

As my eyes glazed over that plastic clipboard costing $ 4.49 (w/​o tax calculated), the words «Do you ever… think of me, anymore?» reverberated in the empty hallways of my mind.
Not only do they have breadth, but they have DEPTH in their product lining as well! You can find portfolio holders, messenger bags, chairs, tables, desk lamps, desk lights, mouses, mousepads, keyboards, electronic gear, folders, pens, officeware, and basically anything else imagineable to existence.
There’s just a catch which kills all spark you may have gathered from believing this is the best place ever to shop — prices… are… bombastic.

There is a wall of printer cartriges here. How about that. Meh.
One thing that is kind of a pain is even though it’s in the same mall as the Home Depot (you know what we need in this mall? More faceless multinational corporations with «depot» in the name!),
OK, start over– my irritation with the mall is seeping into my review.
You have to make a U-​turn to get to Office Depot. That means you have to deal with the traffic heading to the CostCo in the other mall. Not so great, but hardly Office Depot’s fault.
