Mi Rancho Tortilla Factory

The Organic Corn Tortillas are absolutely incredible. Not sure what the negative first poster ate but it certainly was not this tortilla. I have to say if you want an organic grain tortilla this is the company to buy from hands down. I have tried others and there is no comparison. I love the way they are moist and not hard like other organic brands after being warmed.
I use an iron skillet to warm them up. They come out great and I never fry them. I like to add cheese and fold it over to make a great quesadilla. I also like to eat them with butter or stuff them with some avocado and salsa to make a quick, nutritious and filling meal.
I just found out that they now make an organic flour tortilla available in 7.5″ and 9″ diameters. I can’t wait to try them in the 7.5″ which is just a bit larger than the 6″ organic corn tortillas. The organic flour tortillas are not listed on their web site yet but the rep told me the stores already have them.

«Our story is about a love of family, food and good friends. When Mi Rancho® first opened on Seventh Street in Oakland, CA in 1939, it was the only Mexican grocery store in the area, drawing people from all around to purchase fresh hand-​made tortillas, hot food and goods from the Mexican bakery for their families. My grandfather and father purchased Mi Rancho® in 1954, seeing the potential to expand beyond the grocery store with the tortilla line already in the back. I began working at the store at a very young age, bringing with me a vision to begin supplying tortillas to local restaurants. Here we are today, decades since the Mi Rancho® grocery store first opened its doors in 1939 and decades since my family took over. We employ true artisan bakers and professionals, with some of our employees having worked here as long as I have. Remaining loyal to our roots, we only use California corn and flour. The Mama’s Flour Tortillas are delicious and have an amazing texture to them as well. My favorite was the gluten-​free organic corn sliders, perfect for tacos. And healthy too!

I recently pick up Mi Rancho Organic Corn Taco Sliders from Safeway and I have to say… they were the best corn tortillas I’ve ever had! They have a rich corn flavor and are the perfect size for cantina style tacos.
Although the tacos were awesome, my new favorite way to eat them is to cut them in strips, fry them, and serve with tortilla soup or use as a base with enchilada sauce, sunny side up eggs and avocado piled on top.

Mi Rancho has amazing tortillas! So delicious and authentic! Love the Mamas! I was pleasantly surprised.

Organic, hand made. These don’t taste anything like the tortillas we grew up with. I had to throw them out even though they were more than twice the cost of regular, other brands. A yukky flavor.
