Future Hearing

In 2010 after much urging from my wife, I decided to address my hearing loss. I was tired of not being able to hear what people were saying to me. I was also unable to understand the dialogue while watching television without having the volume up to where it annoyed everyone else in the room. There were many times my wife would ask, «Do you need the volume that high»? The answer to her question was, «yes I do». Of course, to me the volume was not that loud.
I saw an ad in our local newspaper for Future Hearing in San Leandro. I called and made my first appointment with them. When I arrived, I was impressed by the courteous and professional demeanor of the office staff. It was then that I met Greg Boone for the first time. I was immediately impressed with his understanding of my situation. Greg is not only a first-​rate audiologist, he wears hearing aids for his own hearing loss. It is easy to say, «I know what you are feeling». However unless you are experiencing the problem yourself, you cannot truly understand it. Greg understands what it is like to live with hearing loss and what to do to make it better.
After my hearing test, it was found that I needed to wear hearing aids in both ears. Greg handled all of the workers compensation paperwork for me. We picked out my hearing aids and the order was placed. When the day arrived to pick them up, Greg did a fantastic job of setting my hearing aids up. He explained what he was doing and why, every step of the way. When I used my hearing aids for the first time, I was amazed at what I could hear. I became aware of sounds I had not heard in many years.
One of the reasons I had been reluctant to get hearing aids was from stories I had heard from several friends. One close friend said they were «too much» and everything was «too loud» after he got them. I told Greg about this. Greg explained he would increase the volume gradually over a few weeks, so it would not be such a shock to me. This made for a pleasant transition.
I would recommend Future Hearing to anyone that suffers from hearing loss. Greg and Emily provide friendly, compassionate and professional care to the hearing impaired. I would not go to anyone else.

I have been using hearing aids for the past 14 years. It has been my experience that adjusting the aids to my hearing specific problem is by far the most important step to improve my hearing. Perhaps it is because Greg Boone wears hearing aids himself; he has a sixth sense what needs to be done to get the hearing aids to work best for me. He is a good listener and very patient in finding out what specific hearing situations needs to be improved. Having conversations with my wife is most important to me. At his suggestion, I brought her with me so he could adjust the aids to her normal voice without having to speak louder to me. For my money, you are dealing with the best of the best at Future Hearing.

This is the place, you will not look any farther. I started with Adam Marvin MD that is in the same office, he is the smartest MD I know and when I had a hearing problem he fixed me up with Greg Boone. He is as great as it comes and the Staff is superb. The thing I like is when you have a problem or question to ask Greg he has an email address on his card and he gets back to you quickly even on the weekend. So if you need a hearing test, hearing aid advice or an ear, nose and throat Doctor this is the place.

What a gem! Everyone at office is totally in tune with the needs of the hearing impared. Greg, the Audiologist, also wears hearing aids, so he «lives the life» and is so helpful! It is hard dealing with your hearing loss, but these nice folks make it a heck of a lot easier to deal with. Thanks a million!

Greg Boone practices in Dr. Marvin’s office. Like Dr. Marvin, he is great. Getting a short notice appointment seems to be no problem. Greg himself wears hearing aides and tries them all so he knows what he is recommending. I am very comfortable in this office, both for Greg Boone and Dr. Marvin. Their service is the best of the best.

Greg Boone helped me out with my Mother-in-Law’s hearing aids. Both he and his office staff were incredibly helpful and professional, giving me personal attention and not pressuring me to ok anything other than what I needed (turns out just a simple cleaning).
