Would definitely recommend easy to get appointment, staff is very helpful! Doctors are very thorough they actually care about your vision. Also, they have a great selection of couture designer eyewear

The location is kind of shady and hard to find, but the friendly staff makes up for it. They do have to press a button or open the door for you due to its surroundings, but they won’t just keep you waiting for long. Aside from the location, they have a lot of stylish and high-​class eyewear to choose from.

These guys are amazing. I called to replace my daughter’s glasses as she had broken the frame and we have Medi-​cal.
Anderson helped us so much and was able to replace them the next day after I called.
I highly recommend them. They are professional and very caring.

I am a long time patient and would like to say thank you to Dr. Haw, Anderson and the team for their professionalism and caring spirit. They are always willing to accomodate your schedule and they have Saturday appointments. They have the best eyewear in the Bay and some I think are one of kind… I have yet to see others with my frames. If you need contacts, or eyewear, Estudillo Optometry is the place to go… they treat you like family.

This review is for Dr. Haw and for people with keratoconus condition.
I have been wearing RGP lens for the past 13 years and none of my 5 optometry doctors told me about the hybrid lenses until i visited Dr. Haw 2 months ago. He told me that I have a couple of contact lenses options. He then fitting me with a few lenses until I’m comfortable with the lens. I have been in and out of his office a few time now to get the best fit and vision. He will keep trying until he is satisfied and you’re happy with the new lens. The hybrid lens is the most comfortable lens I have ever worn and it almost feels like I have no lenses in at all. With my old lenses, I would easy get very uncomfortable with high wind because of dust get into the eyes. I’m so happy with my new lenses thanks to Dr. Haw.
His staff are very nice and helpful.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Haw for a very long time. In fact, before he was at Estudillo Plaza and he’s been very professional and has kept my eyes in the best of health over the years. They have the best eyewear in the Bay and keep up with the latest trends. Love the staff who are also friendly. Worth giving them a try!

I was in today as a new patient for Dr. Harano. The staff and doctor were both moderately nice. The doctor rambled and over-​shared personal details, which seems to be a theme in this office. It was discovered that I do in fact need glasses, and surprise! insurance won’t cover them.
For the poor/​uninsured they offer a «deal» $ 95 of one of their stylish (see: cheap) and plastic lenses. If you wish to upgrade to polycarbonate lens which come with UV and scratch protection, those are $ 125.
I received my prescription and decided to shop around for glasses. In doing so, I was informed I needed by pupillary distance. In calling the shop to ask, as it wasn’t on my prescription, I was told knowing such information would cost me $ 10. Standard eye exams always tell the pupillary distance. I have never been charged, nor have I heard of someone being charged for this information.
Needless to say, I won’t be going back to their office to buy their cheap glasses, or let myself be swindled by such an unprofessional place. Thank goodness my insurance paid for this «exam», otherwise I’d dispute it all together. 100% do not recommend.

Dr. Harano is a good doctor, but after being a patient there for 10 years, I have switched to another optomotrist; apparently money, not her patients, are the #1 priority…
I recently had a 1:45 appointment on a weekday, so I had taken off work. Anderson informed me that there had been a problem processing my insurance, that I needed to hold on while he sorted it out. They never did, and I was therefore told I would not get my exam that afternoon. I was seething, as I had taken the PM off work, AND spent an hour there cooling my heels. After being on the phone for a mere 10 minutes with my employer’s Benefits department, I learned that the VSP representative had indeed screwed up my authorization paperwork, but that it was now all straightened out.
I hold Anderson only partially accountable for this mess — with a little persistence, he could have unearthed the mistake. But Dr. Harano, you turned away a patient of 10 years b/​c of an insurance glitch? Sorry, 100% unacceptable.

I went in for a routine eye exam as a new patient. I had called in advance and the person who answered the phone thoroughly impressed me with his handling of information. The last optometrist office only had what I call pretty bimbos who didn’t know what they were doing so this was a pleasant surprise. So much so that I didn’t think twice about the location, being on MacArthur. wait actually I did. But I figured it should be safe right? Well I get to the office and find you have to be buzzed into the main area, which is good, but aside from safety, the staff was really nice. The optometrist was really caring and attended to my concerns pretty thoroughly as well. The staff helped me choose the glasses that best fit my face and they had quite a selection and weren’t judgmental about me going wild about trying on frames. So thank you, I am excited to get my new glasses! Oh and in terms of price, I can say the prices are fair. they don’t have a section where the glasses are for certain covered by whatever your insurance may be. But I think they have alot of name brands which is why the prices may seem higher, but they aren’t outragouesly overpriced and didn’t try to persuade me to buy more than I should. Obviously they tell you your options but it’s your responsibility to say «no» if you don’t need it.

I had my routine eye exam today. The customer service was excellent. They welcomed me with open arms as usual and my favorite member of the staff, Anderson Thomas, was his usual pleasant self. He was so helpful and attentive to my needs (I am a difficult patient to say the least). The five stars are mostly for him because if he were not there, I would not be. He takes time to help me pick the perfect frames because I am also very particular. Thank you again Anderson for making me feel comfortable and welcome. When my glasses arrive make sure you are the one to assist me with the fitting. I totally agree with a previous review that Anderson’s attention to detail truly shines!

Had been referred by two different friends, so unfortunately tried this place.
1) Took my Oakleys’ to Estudillo for prescription, because they are a ‘dealer’.
After two weeks of no word, was informed clerk ‘sent frames to totally wrong place’.
Had to get them back and resend to proper lens maker & installer.
Asked to speak with owner/​doctor, would promised to call at specific time, and then ignored me.
Manager attempted to correct situation and made small price adjustment for my wait.
2) Returned twice for temple adjustment, each time young girl appeared to play with side hinge, using pliers, not exuding much confidence.
Two days after second adjustment, moments after I put glasses on to drive, I heard ‘snap’ and the ear piece fell off.
Again, manager was apologetic, asked ‘who did adjustment’, and when I told him, he rolled his eyes! Once again the owner/​optometrist would not speak directly to me.
Manager’s best offer was if I could find other frames in his store, they would give me a 20% discount. I did not take them up on this poor excuse for their employees damage, especially considering all they seem to carry now is plastic and cheap material.
Finally he referred me to an eyeglass repair place in Hayward, who said the technician broke the spring while attempting to adjust the fit.
I am in the process of paying a second cost of $ 500 – 600 elsewhere, because of the ineptness of certain employees of Estudillo Plaza Optometry.

Great doctors and solid staff (especially Beverly). Good family place. We’ve been going there for over a decade. Frame prices can be high. (You don’t have to buy them there, of course.)

Notwithstanding Laurie G’s 5÷29÷09 review, I gotta give this place a thumb’s up. I’ll try to make this brief:
I broke a temple on my prescription sunglasses (RayBans) and tried 3 – 4 other places to get them fixed. No luck. (See my negative review of Sunshades, if I write it.)
These folks (Emile?) found me a replacement set by calling Italy or some place; and I got them within a week over the Xmas /​New Year’s holiday, no less. And only $ 40 to boot.
