I found this business on Unilocal and saw all of the good reviews. I’m so glad I stumbled upon it!
I bought a cake and cupcakes for my son’s 1^st Birthday and they were a big hit! Everyone complimented on the design and the taste. Nikki was absolutely great to work with. I will definitely be going back for future occasions.

KD and her sister are my go to cake gals. I’m a special event planner/​coordinator and I have sent countless clients to Behind the Sweets. They have never let me down. Their work is beautiful and even tastes better than they look! Sometimes clients don’t even want to cut the cake because it’s so beautiful. They are always on time and reliable. Thank you for bringing sweetness into my client lives!

KD did an absolutely fantastic job creating a gorgeous sea-​life themed cake for my son’s 1^st birthday! My wife was thrilled with the quality of execution of this cake! The party was so much fun hearing all my friends and family express so much excitement and joy over the cake!

I found this business through a friend when she had her baby shower last year.
I ordered my first cake for my little sisters 13^th birthday party The Walking Dead design with raspberry filling and white cake I believe (I forgot) but everyone loved it!
Second time I order was two cakes one pink red velvet smash cake, 49er cake and Ariel cake with my daughter’s picture for her and her dad’s birthday this past February. These ladies now how to satisfy their clients with their amazing cakes. I only cut the 3 tier Ariel cake cause it was so much and we had over 90+ guest but they finished the that one cake. I forgot the flavors (sorry!) But it was super moist just melts in your mouth!
Her prices are reasonable also some say it’s expensive but I don’t mind paying for amazing work. Will definitely be using her for all my future cake and cupcake needs!

Placed an order about 3 weeks ago for a powrpuff girl cake for my daughter’s 3^rd birthday. We got a red velvet and chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling. We received many compliments on the cake. Every one loved them ! It was beutiful ! I would definitely placed another order with her at any occation :)

Contacted them to do another order for me. Did not get a response. I’m assuming because when I paid for my order she had to get me change and I didn’t leave a tip. We never had a disagreement and I was happy with my cupcakes. This had to be the reason I didn’t get a response month’s later for another party. I don’t mind leaving tips with ppl. I eat at upscale restaurants all the time and leave excellent tips. But did not know me not leaving a tip for 18 cupcakes would result in me not being able to place another order. Lol! Not good customer service to me. Too much competition out there to be trippin off this. But I just wanted to let her know that i know, cus I can give $ 0…u know what

I have no words to describe how excited I am to have found KD. She is very friendly, kind and very professional. I showed her a picture I found over the internet of a wedding cake that I really liked and she knew right away what I wanted. Our wedding cake was so amazing and she delivered right on time. Thank you KD!

Everytime I have a party, I always come here for my fondant cakes and cupcakes! I love it! The fact that it isn’t too sweet either makes it more perfect!

Communication started out so so but once we got it together, KD was on the ball!!! Easy to work with, open to communication, incorporates your idea very well. Love, Love, LOVE my son’s birthday cake. We had a farm/​barnyard theme. The cake was gorgeous and it was too pretty to cut! Had a 2 tier cake with one tier as strawberry flavored and the other tier was banana. Prices affordable.

I can’t say how grateful I am to have found KD. Omg she is amazing!!! We ordered a 3 tier princess Sofia cake. 3 flavors: lemon, red velvet, and cookies and cream. It was
!!! The cake was moist and sweet, but not overly sweet. My guests loved it so much they ask for seconds.
Communication was smooth via email. Paid with PayPal. Picked up the cake on schedule. I cannot thank u enough for the awesome design. She’s definitely my go to cake person from now on.

Oh My Goodness! I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am with my daughter’s frozen cake! I found BTS on here and decided to reach out to KD. She was so pleasant, so willing to do the design and totally professional. The cake is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! That Oreo filling just melted my heart and brought joy to my life! I will definitely be using her in the future.

KD did an amazing job! We ordered a 3 tier cake for our baby shower, & behind the sweets fulfilled everything we asked for in our design. Although I didn’t get to try any of the flavors (because I was so busy mingling with guests) everyone raved about how delicious the cake was. We ordered strawberry bliss, s’mores and a dulce de leche for our 3 tiers. I will definitely be ordering from KD again and would recommend them to everyone!

Very friendly. Available for questions & feedback. Arranged a meeting for sampling of the flavors beforehand. Delivered the cake to the park location, and it was perfect! Three-​tiered (vanilla, strawberry, and red velvet) Curious George themed cake for my nephew’s first birthday! Although the fondant-​made George came out chubby, he was still cute! And, the RED VELVET layer was delicious! Highly satisfied!

I feel bad for giving them this review by I feel like people deserve to know what they are getting into. I ordered two cakes for my mom and my sister’s bday, they both look pretty but the cakes was terrible. I will advice requesting a tasting session first before ordering your cake. I asked them if I can have one but KD said they will be on vacation and don’t not have time to do it.
I ordered mango cake and s’mores and here is the break down of my experience:
Mango:
Doesn’t taste like mango at all. Some people said it was cinnamon, carrot, banana and all kinds of things but none have guess it was mango. Cake was super dense and dry, and I can’t stress enough that I was NOT mango.
S’mores:
Over powering with chocolate chips and doesn’t taste like s’mores either. Like the «mango» cake it was super dense, dry as if you are eating dry muffin. Heck, muffin from Costco is 5x better than the cakes they gave me.
Basically, we took a picture of the cakes then threw everything away. I emailed KD about my experience and told her how terrible the cakes was. She offered a complementary 2 dozen of cup cakes but because of such a bad experience i will NEVER come back her anymore even for free stuff.

I’ve had cakes by Behind the Sweets before at various family parties and have enjoyed the different designs and flavors. So when it was time to order the cake of all cakes for my sister-in-law’s baby shower last weekend, I knew I wanted to work with KD right away. I reached out to her via Facebook first, we exchanged a few ideas and dates, then completed our choices through e-​mail. KD was very clear on communication and we mutually set our expectancy from the very beginning, which made for a very smooth experience.
The cake I got was 2-​tier, jungle/​theme with fondant. I gave her a copy of the invitation and just let her roll with the design. The cake was absolutely adorable and we couldn’t be happier. And it was delicious. Its rare to find a cake maker that has nice designs AND delivers good flavor. We went for cookies n cream on the top and red velvet on the bottom. I absolutely love KD’s red velvet, its so tasty, rich and moist and the cream center is just the perfect sweetness that ties in all together for a perfect red velvet cake. Its not fluffy or dry, its exactly how a red velvet should be!
One of our guests asked if the any parts of the cake contained nuts. KD confirmed that she did not use any nuts or nut extracts on our cake — which made for a very happy Mom of 3 young ones with nut allergies.
We will definitely be ordering from Behind the Sweets again. Thank you so much!

I was throwing a 40^th bday party for my husband and hadn’t decided on any type of bday cake 2 night’s before his party. I sent an email hoping it wasn’t too late to order. The next day I received an email back saying they could fit me in. I ordred 2 dozen cupcakes: 1 dozen carrot & 1 dozen carmel. I met KD at Starbucks to pick up my order. They are an internet based company and that’s where they choose to meet their customers. It was easy and quick and close to my house. The cupcakes were DELICIOUS! I would highly recommend them and I will use them for any future orders. Prices are reasonable @ $ 22 per dozen. Thank you again KD for squeezing me in

This review is long overdue. We used Behind the Sweets for our rehearsal dinner wedding on New Year’s Eve. We were more than thrilled with the cupcakes for the rehearsal dinner and the GORGEOUS cake for the wedding.
KD is very easy to work with, responsive to our questions and was open to our creative direction. Most of all, the end products are amazing.
For our rehearsal dinner, we had cupcakes with the Golden State Warriors logo for me and the Oregon Ducks logo for him. I am not sure how KD did it, but they came out PERFECT. I wish I could include photos here. Not to say the design was the best part though — the flavors were incredible. Our favorites were Ravishing Red Velvet and Banana Delight… which brings me to our wedding cake.
The wedding cake had the same flavors and was BEYOND what we expected. For our 1920’s themed reception, we wanted a simple, 3-​tier, off-​white cake with the Golden Gate bridge etched onto each layer and some gold ribbon to tie in our colors and New Year’s Eve as well. It turned out so beautifully that it really was the centerpiece of the reception for most of the night (until it was eaten). Again, I am not sure how KD did it, but the image of the bridge was perfectly simple, elegant and so obviously Golden Gate. We LOVED it and so did our guests.

KD WAS ABSOLUTELY A-​MAZING!!!
I was planning my sons first birthday party… Not a party… An EXTRAVAGANZA. :D!!! Which, at first, was going to be a monkey theme… Then dad stepped in with his two cents with «let’s do Yo Gabba Gabba» grrreat dad… No prob. I’ve only been planning this monkey EXTRAVAGANZA since our son turned 3 months :-/​… Anywho. So at this point we’re about a month and a half away from THE BIG DAY… Décor, location, invites… Slight inconvenience, but still a piece of cake to switch up. The cake, however, is HUGE… Everybody wonders what the cake will look like. Right? So I’m searching the web to find THEE CAKE that’ll make people ooo and aahh. And I did. After searching Unilocal for a bakery that wouldn’t charge me an arm and both legs I came across two candidates… Some other place and BEHIND THE SWEETS.
From the beginning KD responded quickly and professionally. She was personable and patient. Every quality a mother planning her first babys first birthday needs in a «cake artist» is in KD. I sent her a pic of the cake I wanted and the cupcakes I wanted. Not only was she able to do the cake, but she was enthused about doing it. Which only told me that her passion for her craft would show in the final product.
After the cake tasting and the summary of our order… It was go time. I ordered a five tier cake and 50 mini cupcakes at an EXTREMELY GREAT PRICE.
From that time to the party I had 50 million questions to ask KD. Just to confirm some very important details since everything had to be perfect, and she answered every question thoroughly and in a timely fashion.
Finally, the EXTRAVAGANZA day was here. I was soooo anxious to see it. My sister and were at the venue setting up. When in walks KD with my babys cake… I cried. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. She didn’t miss one single detail. Everyone at the party kept asking «who did the cake?» «how much?» and saying «she’s the new family cake artist». And she’s so humble, she wasn’t even going to leave her biz cards. Thank goodness she did. They were gone within an hour of a 6 hour party.
With all that said…
OH!!! AND THE CAKE WAS DELICIOUS AND MOIST… Each tier was a different flavor. Chocolate, strawberry, lemon, red velvet, and pineapple. ALL DELISH!
So, lol, with that said. KD from Behind The Sweets… YOU ROCK, and we are life long customers. Thank you so much!

I found Behind the Sweets via Unilocal.Nikki was very helpful and kept in touch via e-​mail the whole time. I was able to e-​mail her a picture of what I wanted for our cake. Our whole theme was the San Francisco 49ers and with that, she did a great job.
She was even able to accomodate me and my needs by agreeing to meet me 1 hour earlier then the scheduled time and also meet me in front of Party City since I had to pick up balloons of course.
Highly recommended and fresh looking cakes & cupcakes!

The cake tastes as good as it looks. Would highly recommend this place, it’s good to know that a baker with this much talent is close to home.
