This shop should be listed under «tile.» After searches for a month through numerous tile showrooms in the East Bay, we looked here and at last, found our «dream tile.» The showroom is not glitzy, but it is very well organized and bright, with both displays and numerous samples, and pleasantly low-​pressure.
The help you’ll receive from Manger Eddie Diaz is excellent. He’s patient, listens, offers advice if asked, and works to make sure you get your tile in a timely fashion. (Note that large orders have to arrive by truck from the manufacturing facility in the Southern USA.) When he noticed some crushed edges on several boxes in the 32 box order, he immediately searched find the nearest Daltile/​American Olean shop that could quickly replace it, and it arrived a few days later.
Note that while listed as American Olean, it includes Daltile and Marazzi Tile and Stone – all part of the same company.
Finding the showroom was a bit of a challenge, but worth it! While the location is actually in a row of buildings behind the Davis St Home Depot, the access from there is on a one-​way driveway, going the «wrong way» if you approach from the Home Depot/​Carpeteria side. If you go to the other side of Davis Street (look for Burger King) then under the highway overpass, you’ll reach American Olean/Daltile’s showroom. Call first for directions – even google maps got confused!
