76 Smog Test Only Station

BEWARE! BEWARE! OF THIS PLACE. This is extortion in business. My 74 year old father went after i told him nearest inexpensive place to get smog done today. I looked up on google and it said $ 28.75 plus extra for certificate. i called them to make an appointment for my father to go and no one answered. My father is poor on English and he asked twice before asian guy got his car keys. He told my father $ 80. My dad shocked and said he doesn’t want. The guy told him we don’t have business and i can do in $ 50 which includes extra fees. He was again confused the price doesn’t match and asked the guy about price on the internet is different from which he is quoting. He mentioned its not applicable to his Toyota Sienna and ended up gulping extra money from my retired father.
Later, I called and again goes to voicemail. Another asian guy called me back and says did you want to come in for smog. I asked him about this money scam which was extracted from my father, he right a way said he is not the person and he is a supervisor. He asked me why didn’t i come to smog check instead. He also accused me that I kept the coupon as secret from my father and so on.
I am reporting this business to BBB for further investigation for not ripping seniors off.

Honored the $ 30 Unilocal price, in and out in about 8 minutes. Yowza! I do recommend you call first before you go and make sure you can be seen. The owner asked if I could go to his other location, which was actually better for me, and the tech was expecting me and had paperwork started. Good experience!

This was a painless and affordable option for smog when I realized I needed to get it done ASAP. Bought a Unilocal coupon for this place for only $ 30 towards the smog. At the facility, I only had to pay an additional $ 8.25 for the smog certificate = $ 38.25 for smog this year! And best of all, there was no line and I was out within 10 minutes. Paid half the price, no wait, what else could I ask for! (PS, you’ll need to pay with a credit card for the smog certificate as they can’t make change for cash payment).

The actual test was quick, 15 min, and the technician was friendly. The problem is the pricing information is sketchy and misleading.
In the beginning I called the business, I asked for the price to smog check my Camry, they quoted $ 50. I had seen the Unilocal coupon of $ 30 for $ 75 value towards a smog check. I had also seen Groupon coupon for $ 35 for $ 90 smog check. Since my smog check was $ 50 I figured I would use the Unilocal coupon and save $ 20 off the $ 50 smog check. Wrong!
When I got there, I was told that if you use a coupon, the price of the smog check is $ 89.95. I informed the tech guy that I should have been informed that the $ 50 quoted price on the phone was a Special and could not be combined with a coupon. He told me to call the owner, who was the guy that quoted the $ 50 originally. Long story short, I convinced the owner to take the Unilocal coupon and I would give him an extra $ 5 instead, as if I had purchased the $ 90 value Groupon coupon. When the technician wrote up the bill I was informed that there is an additional $ 8.25 certificate fee as well, which I’m sure surprises many people. The tech said it goes to the state so there’s nothing to be done about that.
I see now that there have been other people with similar stories as mine. The owner claimed on the phone with me that I was the first person to be confused by his pricing, maybe but it doesn’t ring true. As a business, I don’t think you get or keep customers if you are not straight and clear on your pricing. Nobody wants to take time out to drive to a business and then find out they didn’t get the price they expected.

Overpriced and dishonest people. Charged $ 60 for a smog check that didn’t pass due to the converter being mismatched, got it changed and still wanted full price for another test since it was after 30 days. Lowered it to $ 40 but walked away, rather take my business elsewhere.

Great place for smog check… I was there 2 yrs ago with great service. 2 years later here today. Steve was there, waited on me immediately. I would recommend this place to everyone who asks. Keep up the great work Steve. FYI they are also on Groupon! !!! Yes!!!

They could not answer a simple question about prices on the phone. The guy asked me a bunch of questions and asked what prices other people quoted us and then said «I don’t know I’m not a technician, just bring it in.» … Too much lack of clarity

From start to finish, only took about 10 minutes.
Couldn’t ask for anything better on a sleepy morning!
Used a coupon I found online and they honored it without a problem, which is a huge relief. When did smog checks get so expensive?!

I love the service… I was the first person at 0930 when they open, he took 10 – 15 minutes and I was out of there. PLUS IF YOU CHECK IN ON Unilocal YOU GET 20% OFF YOUR SMOG! Highly recommend, I’m pleased.

Steve was very efficient. He was by himself in the shop but was able to help 2 people at once with their smog checks. There is a couch and tv in the shop and was not crazy busy so the wait was minimal. With the Amazon Local deal, it made it a even better deal. Was in and out of there within 30 minutes with 2 people ahead of me. Steve, you are awesome to give me most of my Saturday back!

It was quick but my smog test put a huge dent. $ 120! Goodness that’s a lot for a smog test but it was pretty quick, 30 minutes. The owner was there and was kind of pushy. I was taking photos and he kept having something to say, like he was coaching me, it was sorta irritating. I just wanted to do my thing goodness. Well I passed my smog so I’m happy.

Went here today and spoke with Steve after buying the Unilocal voucher, the service was quick and efficient using computerized systems for new cars. I was out in 30 minutes or less, Steve explained the smog process for non mechanic folks like myself while he was working on my car. I’m very happy for the service, will definitely keep them in mind for next smog check. Highly recommended, Steve was friendly and knowledgeable guy! Awesome

Called around for estimates, this happened to be the first place we called. Talked to a rick or Vic and gave us a good price lowest I found. They’re professional polite and get the job done quick. Steve the technician was polite andnew what need to be done. Would definitely recommend 76 test only either location is great on Davis or E.14.

I would strongly recommend this smog check location to anyone. I went there in the evening (it looked like they had just closed), but they were really nice and agreed to do smog check despite I arrived a little late.
Didn’t have to wait for more than 15 mins for entire test. Staffs were very friendly and answered general/​maintenance questions about my car while I waited.
The price was very reasonable, definitely cheaper than other locations I inquired before I went there. Very positive and satisfying experience.

Was looking for a place close to my work to get my Smog Check and found these guys. They did an amazing job. The Tech was great, friendly and very fast.
