Pleasant enough older building with familiar layout. Ample parking. My family of 6 had lunch here on a Sunday. Arrived at 11:30am. We were greeted by a pleasant hostess & promptly seated & given menus. We waited 25 minutes for our waiter to arrive at our table to ask if we wanted any drink orders. We ordered water for all, one coffee, one lemonade &4 Sprites. We wanted to place our food order since we had waited so long for service. But he declined & stated he would take food orders when the drinks were served. Can you believe it? We waited another 15 minutes for the beverages! The place was not busy & our waiter was very pleasant but he seemed to not have the ability to multi task. 2 of us ordered salad bar and were able to serve ourselves. The poor other 4 people waited an extremely long time for 2 children’s menu items &2 burgers. No catsup or condiments were brought to our table. No refills of the drinks. We left 2 hours later at 1:45 pm. Terrible LONG waits to everything. There were no bus boys or additional staff to assist our waiter. We tipped him a 20% grat as he was nice but certainly could have benefited from some support staff. We noticed other wait staff with long delays with their table service too. They need bus staff !!!

Poor service, not good food. Food was not even warm. We asked for a couple of things like refills, a sauce for a sandwich, etc, all requests were never delivered. They even screwed up my five year olds order. Not a good experience.

This is only a review on their apple pie. What the heck happened? Went in for an Apple Pie and it was almost tasteless and the crust was blah. When Bristol Farms can out produce a place that was known for their pies maybe it is time to throw in the rolling pin.

01/10/2016 Visited. 7:30pm Well The Reason for the low star score is the quality of the food. The Service was a 3 ½ to 4 Stars. The location is good and plenty of seating as well as good parking. Sadly Marie Calliender’s has changed the quality from when I started eating at them almost 40 years ago. The Frisco Burger used to be a big thick juicy all beef patty cooked the way you like. The one i received left me Asking, «WHERE’S THEBEEF» The meat was just another cheep thin frozen Costco type cheep Patty. Cooked to death way over well done. Dry And Tasteless. For $ 2.00 Extra They will Throw away your French fries and give you five onion rings. How Nice of Them. What ever happened to Medium Rare like Most of America Likes Them? Sadly Nothing Like They Used To Be. My Wife Ordered A BLT. Again a disappointment. «WHERE’S THEBACON» Two pieces of bread with a very thin slice of tomato, a little lettuce and maybe two thin slices of bacon and way overpriced for this puny sandwich. The French Fries and Onion Rings were very good. Couldn’t understand why they don’t have Milk Shakes. After all it is a desert pie place. Strange. Good Thing Their Pies Are Still Good. Got a Whole Banana Cream Pie to take home. Good Choice. 4 Stars. Bottom Line, it cost us $ 45.00 to take a good pie home. Will We Eat At A Marie Callender’s again? Nope. We Like Real Burgers and quality food. I may stop for a take out pie to take home someday. PS There Is A McDonalds Right Across The Street with better Burgers And allot Cheeper. And they have milk shakes too.

Went to the Marie Calendars in Valencia and it was excellent in every way! I think you just have to go to one that is managed well as the one in Orange County was so bad.

I cannot say enough to good things about the Thanksgiving meal they provide. My family ranted and raved about how good everything was. And for 120 it was well worth it. It was very easy to heat up. And tasted great. Cleanup was super easy. Great idea if you are crunched for time. Or kitchenly challenged.

My husband and I went for dinner last night. He got the open face turkey sandwich(which he liked) and I got the grilled chicken and spring salad(substituted salad for steamed veggies). First of all, the chicken was most definitely not grilled, baked was more like it which is fine but why say grilled if that’s not the truth. Second, it tasted like a weird flavorless, gelatinous hockey puck. The waitress was very nice and said the manager knows they all taste like that and offered me something else. I got a bowl of vegetable soup. It was terrible! I asked my husband, can we please not come back here anymore? He said yes…

Great pies, butbi came here to study and they were great about putting me in a quiet area and letting me stay a while. Server was Araceli, super polite recommended fish tacos which I enjoyed. I’ll be back for sure.

This is a restaurant for older couples. Wouldn’t eat here, but I get the to go pies. Right now they have a $ 7 special on all pies at this location. The lemon meringue is very good. One time I got a to go strawberry pie and when I got home a cut the pie all the inside was molded! Since then, they have improved greatly on the pies. Make sure to ask when they were baked(they have the fresh ones in the back!)

OK Unilocalers — I need a little help here. I believe we had a bad experience today in this Marie Callender’s because I believe we were charged incorrectly. We walked in with a Marie Callender’s coupon for a «Free Breakfast Entrée» with the purchase of any breakfast entrée and two beverages. We ordered two large orange juices(2 @ $ 2.69 = $ 5.38), one ham & cheese omelet(@ $ 9.79), one pancake combo(@ 8.49), and one child’s breakfast(@ $ 4.79) PLUS a German Chocolate Pie(@ $ 7.99). The bill came and I saw that in return for the coupon for the free breakfast that they had given credit for ONLY the child’s breakfast. I questioned the server(Juan) and he told me that their policy was to only give credit for the least expensive breakfast to honor the coupon. Now, every other restaurant when we have used a coupon for a free meal, normally the restaurant considers the child’s meal in a different category. The credit for the free meal is normally honored on the least expensive regular(or adult) meal. I asked the server(Juan) if we came in with the coupon and wanted to use the coupon only on the child’s menu if that were OK. He said that it had to be used on the regular menu and not the child’s menu. I told him that I wanted to speak with the manager because I disagreed with the application of the coupon which made the free meal the child’s meal. Evidently he spoke with the manager and then came back with the revised check which made one of the regular meals(adult meals) the free meal. QUESTIONFOR UnilocalER’S — What do you think? Did the restaurant honor the coupon correctly when they only gave credit for the child’s meal? I think NOT but I am open-mined enough to listen to the opinion of others. PS – the difference was +$ 3.70 in additional charges by only giving credit on the child’s meal… PPS — the kitchen was extremely slow today — not one of the better days at this restaurant…

Brunch is a DEAL!!! Great price and selection. Plus bottomless mimosas!!! Can’t beat it. Try the Mediterranean Mahi Mahi. I would go back just for that.

This one Star is only my reflection on their pies. I have been a long time admirer of their pies but am finally convinced that the pie they make now is not even close to the taste and quality of the past. I purchased an Apple Pie with crumble top and a Cherry Pie at $ 12.99 a piece. I will not purchased pies from Marie Calendars again. Both pies were a major disappointment, didn’t have the fruity taste of the past and the crust, which I loved, is sadly missing. After buying the two pies I went to Ralph’s to get a loaf of bread and found larger and better looking pies for $ 4.99 each It appears that after Bankruptcy and change of management and pie management/creation the pies that Marie Callender made is a part of history. Even their menu is lacking. Chuck Salisbury

It’s my first time here. I just love my pot pies! My pot pies always supercede the quality of service. Although Patty, our server was truly wonderful: attentive, accurate and prompt with our orders. Thank you for my pot pie. Oh! You could do better with the clam chowder. It tasted more like cream of celery. I could not taste the clam!

WORSTEVER I arrived at 11:45am for a 12noon Sunday brunch reservation for(8). I gave the snarky hostess the name for the reservation & she yelled, «I don’t know who that is» & walked away. I did not expect her to know who that is, I was simply stating the name on the reservation. She came back & said«they are not seated yet & we’ll set up the table at noon». I knew they were not seated because I was the first one there — DUH. If she had not been so rude & had not walked away, I would have finished telling her I was just checking in. I sat in the waiting area & watched her snip at everyone that came in, including the elderly with walkers. Made me want to walk out of the place. RUDE. RUDE, RUDE& if I was a Manager, I would fire her immediately. First impressions are everything & she gave us a glimpse of how the rest of the place worked. The only redeeming quality of the day was our wonderful server Tammy. Although she was overwhelmed with a large group of about 20, she was super sweet & tried her best to take good care of us. The Managers are lame & do little to nothing except walk back & forth. Several at our table mentioned that the Manager could have helped her out. They didn’t even tell Tammy that there were big parties back to back. The next one came in behind the 1st one; another table of about 15 or so. At the buffet, the young man making the omelets did nothing to help; not a hello, not a smile, not a word from him, although he had his stupid tip jarl out for the omelets. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE& another snarky idiot. He was also the one carving the meats, so if he was making an omelet, then you’re out of luck for meat until he is finishes. One guy bringing food out the buffet & another one who could not speak. All the food was all cold, most of the trays were empty. When asking the one guy about food he would just say it’s on the way & then run back into the kitchen & hide out there. Then the food would come out cold. Serious kitchen and staff issues here. It’s not like they don’t do this every Sunday. Just totally BADMANAGEMENT. Most of the good was OK to bad. Nothing I would ever consider eating again. They need a new cook, new management, new staff. Every person at our table mentioned how bad the workers were — ZERO personality & just plain RUDE& worthless. Again, our server Tammy was the nicest of the bunch. There are SO many much better places to go for brunch. Not sure why this place is actually busy with bad food, bad employees, bad management. If I was in corporate, I would shut the place down or fire everyone & bring in new management & staff.

Showed up late(8pm) on a Saturday, a little busy, but no wait. Hostess seated us at a dirty, sticky table. We got up after 10 seconds and told her we were moving two tables over, taking our menus. No waiter, no water at the new table for 15 minutes. We left, saying goodbye and explaining why in a friendly manner. Marie’s seems to get worse every year, while raising prices. Their food quality has deteriorated since Perkins took them over, and now service is declining as well. We won’t be back unless Mom makes us. –A 30 year customer

Absolutely am in love with this Marie calendars and their new menu updates. As a young individual on a budget I love being able to go to a place that’s in my neighborhood that has healthy and delicious choices in my low budget. Especially all you VeggieHeads out there!!! Was so excited to extend my healthy choices beyond the salad bar to the actual menu for once. I ended up ordering to go today, my first time ordering to go from this location. She definitely was on point with how long it would take, was very honest about price and answered all my questions. Was really helpful no complaints about their to go service.

I’ve been to this Marie Callender’s many many times over the past 15 years it’s always been good. There’s a lot of different options to choose from here which is good if your going with a group of friends who don’t know what they want to eat. A tip on if your going to get the salad bar ask to be seated in the section that’s to the left of the hostess stand it will save you from walking all over the place. There’s a few things here that we’ve always gotten that here that have been really good The Potato Cheese Soup, Works Frisco Burger, and Pot Pie to name a few. Whatever you end up getting to eat just make sure you save some room for one of the delicious pies because you know you want one. All in all this location has been very good over the years and never really crowded so that’s definitely a plus and why we will be back here again sometime soon!
