Lazy W Ranch is the perfect place for your church, school, or other non-profit organization to come for a retreat, organized camp, or other program.

History

Established in 1954.

Lazy W Ranch was purchased by the United Methodist Church on May 5th, 1954 and dedicated on May 29th. Many of the original buildings, such as the Chuck House, Lodge and Guest House have seen renovations over the years, but still hold their original foundations laid more than 70 years ago. The mid 1950s through the 1960s saw the construction of most of all the other buildings you see today, mostly build by generous volunteers. Lazy W Ranch now has over 30 buildings, sleeping accommodations for 160, a swimming pool, tent camping area, and many places for worship and recreation. The Hot Springs Canyon Creek fills the canyon with the sound of flowing water during most of the year for the camp’s 12,000 or more annual guests that visit for spiritual, educational and recreational retreats.

Meet the Manager

Billy S.

Manager

I have been involved in camping since as long as I can remember. It was here at Lazy W Ranch as a camper that I felt the call to help out with the Camping Ministry and to help create a community for others like the one I had experienced. I strive to serve others with a spirit of Christian hospitality. In Hebrews 13:2, it says «Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.» My promise to you is that, while you are here with us, the staff of Lazy W Ranch and I will do our very best to provide you with programming and logistical support so that your camp or retreat is fruitful and impacting.
