Ed Zayer
The word that best describes Ed Zayer’s craftsmanship is exceptional. This description is appropriate because our project was completed in a manner far past our expectations.
First, he helped us create a remodel plan that stayed within code, without changing the floor plan of the original foundation. Second, Ed was responsive to our budget concerns. He was amenable to project modifications, and once we agreed on terms, he outlined a schedule that coordinated the different craftsmen. Their movement from one section of the project to another was seamless, meaning there was no time wasted waiting in between phases. They were skilled in detailing those little extras that added pop appeal. Whenever we encountered the unanticipated, as does happen with any major remodel, Ed made adjustments that honored both our vision as well as our budget. His patience and flexibility provided calm and the midst of a potential storm. What he produced was a customized living environment that has given us the appeal and warmth we had been seeking.
The attribute we appreciate most in Ed is his integrity. His word was his bond. From the outset of our project to its very end, we were always in contact with Ed, be it through email, texting, or phone. Whatever the source of contact, we were assured a response. In each phase of the project, he would apprise us of the situation, keeping us posted of progress. At the end of each phase, we conducted a walk through, in which he reviewed the plans, pointed out enhancements, and sought our response on the work. It was a project of mutual engagement.

We have just finished a major home remodel with Zayer Quality Construction and are thrilled beyond belief. The remodel experience was enjoyable. After hearing many stories about how home remodels can stress a marriage, we are extremely pleased with how great it was working with Ed Zayer. He improved on our architect’s designs in so many ways. The resulting house is so much more functional as well as beautiful. Structurally, Ed also improved upon the original design and went above minimum code to assure that we will have our dream home for many years. Ed’s experience in home construction is impressive, and when combined with his design sense is awesome.
Throughout the remodel, Ed worked with our architect, the planning commission, and the housing inspector to make changes that greatly improved our home. He also incorporated all of our requests. The resulting remodel is cohesive and people have believe it is a new house.
Our old home had numerous issues, including uneven floors due to foundation issues, termite damage, odd concrete work done by the original owners, etc. Ed proposed and implemented solid remedies for all of our issues, instead of just applying «band-​aid» fixes.
Our interior and exterior lighting was expertly designed and executed. We had no idea about how many lights are needed, so Ed took the design task over and our home is now evenly and artistically lighted.
Everyone of the subcontractors could not say enough about how much they enjoy working on Ed’s projects because he appreciates (and demands) their best. Ed rewards his subcontractors by paying them on-​time and by using them on future jobs. This keeps their quality high and their costs low.
The drywall work is flawless. We have one curved wall that is now a highlight of the home, as it is perfectly smooth and the curve flows in a natural and organic way. This was due to Ed’s talented crew who created the curved framing, the drywall subcontractor, and the painting subcontractor who finished off the amazing wall.
As a remodel, one of the original outside walls had to remain with the old stucco on it. Ed’s stucco subcontractor did a perfect job of getting the old and new stucco to join seamlessly.
All of Ed’s crew and subcontractors were neat and left the job site orderly every evening.
Communication with Ed was super-​easy. He promptly responded to phone calls and e-​mails. Ed always took the time required to educate us on our options and the process for the various aspects of the project.
When doing a major remodel, we depend upon the knowledge and guidance of our general contractor. Ed’s honesty and integrity made this project comfortable and enjoyable. For all of the quality that is in our home, we are continually impressed by the reasonable cost.
Ed personally worked with our neighbors to ensure that they were not impacted by our project. He kept them happy and that means a lot to us.
We feel very fortunate that we found Ed and that he took on our project. Needless to say, we are tremendously pleased and appreciative. We recommend Zayer Quality Construction enthusiastically and without reservation.
