Wright Lighting & Fireside

Brought a floor lamp to be repaired. They changed the socket and the bulb wattage without telling me. The bulb burned out before it should have. When I discovered the bulb was different than the lamp originally took they could not tell me what happened. They even said they don’t install new sockets. They even tried to blame someone else for putting the sockets in! Denial seems to be their first defense. Rude, condescending and customer unfriendly.

After looking for lighting fixtures at a few stores (includes some of the big box and chain lightning stores) we finally found a place that had a very knowledgeable and friendly associate who could also explain Title 24 requirements for remodels. Glenn was patient and asked the right questions as he led us through their showroom. Their selection of products is very nice although somewhat more on the high-​end. All in all I’d say that their store is definitely worth a visit!

Sharon provided excellent service — knowledgeable about the inventory, did not up sell more expensive products, and was supportive of our needs. She also provided ongoing support during our project and returned all calls promptly. Finally, her attention to detail with timely email communication is very much appreciated!

Love this place. It is close to home, they have a good selection of LED lights, they fixed a pendant light that I was having trouble with, and they worked with my electrician to help him install a cable light system over our dining room table. They can do it all! I have order lots of lights through them since they moved to Meridian Avenue, and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend them. Glenn is my favorite sales person, very knowledgeable.

We had a gas fireplace installed last year in our newly remodeled home and it is absolutely wonderful. It looks great and gives off plenty of heat and keeps the living room comfy and cozy. Anthony did the installation and was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. Many months after the installation, I contacted Anthony with a few questions regarding the fireplace and he promptly called me back and gave me all the answers i needed. I will recommend Wright Lighting and Fireside to anyone interested in a gas fireplace.

I recently renovated my home and handed the lighting design over to the owner, Anthony, and I could not have been more pleased or satisfied with the entire experience. He was so helpful and knowledgable about all of his products. When I didn’t know what I was looking for, he did. The house is finished and it is absolutely gorgeous.
Also, I went into the store on a number of occasions and was always treated kindly and as a valued customer. Costumer service is not dead, especially in small, family business like this.

This place is the WORST!!! DO NOT GO HERE! Save your self a headache and go somewhere else not only was my order delayed, and incorrect since I received it but I was treated like a pile of crap thought the entire experience (similar to what another Unilocaler said below.)
At this place customer service is DEAD! I mentioned to the guy with the mustache that I was unhappy with the customer service (very politely) and he laughed in my face… LAUGHED!!!
I was treated like crap and my project that was supposed be be done by Christmas is delayed all because my lights were several weeks late… then when they did arrive one was missing, did the store notice one was missing no, they did not even bother to check the invoice… I had to point it out…
I hate giving small shops a BAD reviews BUT I must to save others like me!!!

I would have given Wright 5 stars but they messed up my special lighting order and it took some time/​pushing for them to come up with an alternate solution. In the end, they came through for me so ‘all’s well that ends well’. Service otherwise was excellent and they have a large selection of unique, beautiful lighting.

I’ve been meaning to review Wright Lighting for a while now. We’ve used Wright’s products since they were located on San Carlos and have no complaints about the quality and design ideas… only praise. We’ve also purchased less expensive lighting from places like Ikea and Home Depot, the results of which we’ve been much less satisfied with. In fact, after a few years those lights typically ended up in a garage sale or good will donation. Back to Wright: We have a beautiful ceiling light in our bedroom and our baby’s bedroom, we have two rails in the living room, an extending lighted magnifying mirror and above-​mirror wall lights in our master bathroom, and some ceiling lights in our hallways… oh and some super efficient LED cans in the kitchen. The feeling of all of them is a clean and classic look that doesn’t seem to be fading any time soon (thanks to advice from staff at Wright), and the light quality (which I hadn’t put too much attention to in the past) really makes a huge difference in how the rooms feel. Wright also provided us with excellent ideas for which type of light switches to use and which to avoid.
In other words, we are pretty darn happy with the purchases we’ve made as should be evident by how many purchases we’ve made!
By the way, a lot of what we purchased was not displayed in the store. This is the kind of store where you need to talk with staff who can help you target what you’re looking for in their catalogs. We’ve given some pretty vague descriptions of the type of look we were going for and all of a sudden the sales person shows us a surprisingly spot on catalog image. So don’t just browse.

Saw all the great reviews here on Unilocal and drove all the way there specifically to look for some crystal chandeliers and fireplace covers.
Rather disappointed with the selection. Store was pretty small and didn’t have a ton of selection. Maybe just a matter of overly high expectations vs. reality. I had gone to Lamps Plus before, and I was expecting this to have better selection but not the case.

A few weeks ago, I finally stopped a seven year run of procrastination and started a redecorating project at home. Decided I had to check this place out — I’ve driven by it at least a hundred times. I walked in literally on a whim and whatever the sales guy (Glen) was working on, he stopped and gave me complete attention. While the showroom had an extensive display, nothing suited what I had in mind exactly. Glen brought out the books and we started searching. Found a few chandeliers I liked and he talked me into thinking it over. The next day I had made up my mind, went back and ordered the fixture and gave a deposit. Within two weeks, had my chandelier and I’m very happy overall with the experience. I intend to return and buy two more fixtures from Wright Lighting.

Great selection, great prices, great service for both lighting and fireplace equipment.
We’ve used them for both and can’t say enough about their pricing and selection.
Check them out before you go elsewhere.

Very negative experience and would NOT recommend this store. My husband and I came here to purchase sconces. When my husband asked about particular ones that would match some of the brushed nickel hardware on our house, the staff person was very condescending and rude. He then chose some that he thought would match which didn’t look like they would match from the catalog (they were a matte grey) but he assured us they would.
When we received them, our initial feeling was right. We went back to return them, that same individual was dismissive telling us that ‘No one would notice.’ Hard to believe you would tell that to a customer. Then, he told us there would be a 25% restocking fee which came out to be $ 60! A complete rip-​off! Never again.

Terrific customer service! If you like a store that is responsive, honest, and pleasant to work with. I had them install gas logs for our old living room fireplace. We love it!
We had stopped burning real wood and never used the fireplace but now we use it all the time. We also have a sealed unit in another room that was installed by another company which was having problems. That company had poor follow thru service and I gave up on trying to use them for the unit they had installed. I called Wright’s and asked if they do service on sealed units and they said that they could help me with it. Anthony came out and figured out that the problem was a loose wire. All fixed! It is refreshing to see a company that gives old fashioned honest service! Highly recommend!

Customer service, customer service, customer service!!!
I called this morning looking for a particular part to hang a light fixture that I didn’t even buy from Wright, and they searched the back and found something for me. So, I drove over, and looked at the part. Well, it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, so they ran in the back and brought out other pieces they thought would work. We found just what I needed. The service was great. The people (I should have caught their names) were fun, knowlegable and helpful to the nth degree.
Also, the selection of light fixtures they have is outstanding. I will return for more than just hardware in the near future.

Anthony was very helpful. I came in without any particular questions in mind. Walked out learning a lot about various lighting options. Going back with measurements to discuss recessed placement for my ktichen.

Visited the old location first… Oh well. Thanks to the Unilocal!app, the problem was solved immediately (it’s only a couple minutes’ drive).
I went inside and saw tons of fixtures, all very nice and good. Yet, I was looking for replacement parts, not new fixtures. No problems at all. Asked the salesman about my needed parts (lamp cord, plug, and a three setting twist switch), he nodded in acknowledgment, and went back and grabbed it all. Everyone was all smiles, service was prompt, and the price was reasonable. I left the store very satisfied and happy that I could visit a local store rather than the Internet or the big orange monster that may or (more likely) may not have had what I was looking for.
Bottom line: check ‘em out if you want a similar experience to mine. You wound regret it!

I needed a length of chain in a slightly difficult to find color in order to change the position of a hanging fixture. After calling a few places who didn’t have the color I needed, I ended up at Wright. They had what I needed, the price was reasonable, everyone there was friendly, and they were even willing to joke with me about which light in their store was the ugliest. I love a retail estalishment that doesn’t take itself too seriously!
Next time I need a fixture, or a bit for one, I’ll call Wright first. They even have a drive-​thru window* — how can you go wrong?
*It’s just a holdover from the photo place or whatever was here before. I wouldn’t recommend driving up to the window, laying on the horn and expecting carside service. These guys are armed with light fixture chains, after all.
