I have been at Ramona’s Café many times and the main reason that keeps me going back is their great food and good service. It is a small restaurant and some of the times its a bit hard to get a parking space since its a small shopping center. I usually go in the mornings and the waitress there(Doña Mary) has always been very caring, kind and she has a great attitude. Mary greets everybody coming in the restaurant and she is really fast in assisting you. She is excellent in keeping up with what you need and she wont forget about you after she brings your food to the table. Mary makes sure you have a good experience eating at Ramona’s Café. The food… «exellent». So far I have tried carne asada, chile relleno, steak ranchero, steak ala mexicana, asada fajitas, chicken fajitas and mixed fajitas. Everything is home style and you can choose corn tortillas or flour tortillas(I always go for the flour) their coffee is very good and they also have sodas, juice, beer, agua de horchata(rice water with a hint of cinnamon). Their tortilla chips are and taste freshly made and they have red and green salsa. I love the red salsa with a few drops of lemon and shopped onion. There is a big screen tv and an afordable music box. Overall, I would recomend Ramona’s Café if you are looking for some tastefull home made Mexican food.

Apparently, this place used to be called Trine’s. I just went there for the first time yesterday at approx 9am and it is called Ramona’s Café. First of all, it was open for breakfast, but served lunch as well. A woman named Mary greeted us. She was very friendly and welcoming. She was on the cell phone quite a bit while we were there, but I didn’t really mind. When we needed anything, she was right there. The service there was very nice. Mary recommended dishes, made sure we had drink refills, and frankly, acted a bit like a caring mother(in a nice way). I felt very taken care of and comfortable. The café itself is Mexican food and décor. It’s not the highest end, but it was clean, had a big HDTV, and plenty of seating. My husband got the egg and chorizo breakfast burrito and he really liked it. I got the quesadilla with pork, and refried beans with cheese. The pork was amazing. A little fatty, but I just picked it out and put it to the side. I also had a glass of horchata and it was sweet and cinnamony — very good! The prices were about what one would expect for diner food. I found it very reasonable for what we were served.

One star because this address is no longer Trine’s. However, The one on Monterey is very good.

Very nice home made mexican food. The service is also very nice. The chef who is an old guy often comes and checks if everything is okay. He sometimes hands out a fruit to you when you leave which is very nice of him. I am vegetarian and frankly, they don’t have a whole lot for vegetarians but they were very accommodating. They made special dishes for me without the meat which was nice of them. I’d definitely go there again!

I’ve grown up coming to this Trine’s location. They have really good homemade flour tortillas. At different times this place gets really packed and it’s pretty small inside too. Parking can be a bitch because the restaurant is located in a small plaza. But I still come here every now and then, their caldo de res is really flavorful with big chunks of meat. Really good mexican food.
