I have MANY complicated problems with my teeth and with other jaw issues. Dr. Tran is THE BEST. She has always gone above and beyond in helping me and ensuring that I am taken care of properly. I’ve never had to wait long for an appointment and she has always gotten me in to see her as soon as she could! I recommend her to ANYONE AND EVERYONE!

Came here to get my wisdom teeth extracted. The first two was fine. But when I went to get my other one extracted, she said I needed a bone graft (costs $ 500) which was fine if I needed it. I did more research and had other dentists looked at my X-​ray and they said I didn’t need a bone graft. I called back to ask her to pull it out with getting a bone graft and she refused even though I told her that other dentists said I didn’t need it. If it wasn’t for Medi-​cal, I would never bother to come back to her or go to her. I tried again and her assistant scheduled me for an appointment and I thought maybe she changed her mind so I came in and she told me to go home and told me to go to UCSF of dentistry.

I’ve never had a better dentist than Tiphanie Tran!!! The staff is awesome and Tiphanie is gentle and very professional. A Lot of my family and co-​workers are patience of hers now!!!

This review goes towards kids/​children. If you are planning to take your child here– don’t.
Today was the lay straw going here. From the first visit my son hated it and i can understand why. I should have looked for another dentist. My son freaks out every visit and screams. They try to do their best but not good enough. I get it, he’s screaming and all but it shouldn’t be rushed. They made it seem like they just wanted us out of there. To take pictures of the teeth the used this big ol thing they stick in your mouth and my sons mouth is small, he’s only 2 (but at the time this happened he was 1).
I could go on. But Im never coming back here. My son hates it and so do i and i want him to have a good experience with the dentist. Def not kid friendly. At least not for toddlers.

Been coming here for 13 years and I love love LOVE the staff and Dr. Tran! Desiree, the receptionist is the sweetest. She always welcomes me with a warm friendly smile. Dr. Tran– I don’t even know where to begin.
1)She’s very passionate about what she does and you can tell she cares about her patients. Well – I can.
2) she’s ever-​so gentle with my teeth AND with both my kids as well.
3) she’s HUMBLE! She’s not the type to rip you off like a lot of doctors out there!
4) Her office is open on Saturdays!
I’ve never had a horrible experience with Dr. Tran, she’s got to be by far the best doctor I’ve ever encountered. Apart from the fact she is just absolutely the most pleasant person around, she’s very thorough and efficient at what she does.
She’s the only person allowed to poke and prod my teeth for as long as they still remain intact. Hehe

Dr. Tran is the kindest and most sincere dentist I’ve had. I’ve been going to her for the past 3 years for cleaning, deep cleaning, and getting a crown. She has been excellent and knowledgeable for all procedures.
I love going to her because unlike some dentists, she has very good and open communication skills. I know it sounds like a given, but it’s absolutely refreshing to be able to be told just *exactly* what the dentist is going to do to you and why. For example, when I was getting my crown done, she explained to me why my tooth felt sensitive and that it’s only temporary. Maybe it’s her tactic of getting the patients to understand and relax. It’s definitely working for me.
She is also very efficient in managing the patients. I’m only there for an hour max. Dr. Tran is very cool!

I’m a new patient… Was referred by my parents.
Scheduling an appointment was simple and straight-​forward. Made easy by the wonderful reception Desiree. Just make a quick phone call, tell them about your insurance coverage and yadda yadda yaaaaa~ they’ll figure out the rest.
My appointment was at 9:30am, I came kind of early and was seated in the dentist chair shortly after filling out my dental history form.
Shot X-​Rays, Informed them of my stupid wisdom teeth, got my teeth and gums polished, scraped, clean, and raped. Followed by intense flossing! Nice, never felt anymore violated but reaaallly clean.
DR. Tran is definitely a genuine and sincere dentist. She’s really lookin’ out for your teeth from my experience.
The whole visit lasted only an hour MAX! Not too bad :)
Was able to schedule another appt to get my teeth extracted really soon too! :)

My first appt here was okay. Dr. Tran seemed nice enough, good bedside manners. I was a bit taken aback by the pain I had to endure though, and questioned whether I should come back. I was too lazy to find another dentist.
Due to my own laziness, and need to get the work done, I made a second appt. My appt was at 9am. I waited and waited, and waited some more. Hmmhhh. A good 30 minutes passed, and I’m still waiting. How patient must a patient be? Then another patient comes in; who was mentally disabled. For some reason, he was able to get seen before I was. No problem had it not been for the fact that it was now a good 45 minutes since I first set foot in the door.
Next thing I know, I hear shreiks coming from the young man. Then the receptionist jumps out of her seat to go help. If I didn’t know any better, it sounded like there were 4 ppl holding him down. Poor thing.
Well, by then, enough was enough. I took that as a sign! I’m outta here! I’m not going back!

I go here because I just changed insurance and her dental practice is close to my house. Their receptionist was a little pushy with an extra recommended procedure (I told her that I had to check with my insurance to see if it would be covered — she kept insisting that it SHOULD be covered but I had to tell her that I have limited coverage to shut her up). Their oral x-​ray equipment seems a little outdated… the thing they stick in your mouth to take x-​rays are so HUGE — I almost gagged on every x-​ray photo on my first visit!
I think they also overbook people… I came in for my previous appointment, got seated in the dental chair, and heard the patient in the next room just starting his appointment with Dr. Tran! I had to lie there and wait forever for them to finish so I could start my turn. Why didn’t they just give me a later appointment time?

I’ve been here twice now — not impressed.
Lots of waiting and scheduling follow-​up appointments — not good for individuals with busy schedules. They said they do not have early morning appointments before 9 but seems like they do according to the sign-​in logs. Did not do normal checks that dentists usually do (i.e. inform you about cavity situation — even if there are none, perform gum depth measurements, etc.). Also didn’t write anything down in a chart which is a bit skeptical — unless she has photographic memory. Did a good job cleaning teeth but felt like I was at a dental hygienist instead of a dentist.
To summarize, she was nice and performed a good cleaning but was not worth the wait.

Very unprofessional. My mother was referred by her Fremont dentist to Dr. Tran for root canal treatment. She has Medical so the X-​rays were to be sent to Sacramento for approval.
After waiting 2 months I called their office and was told that Dr. Tran had looked at the X-​rays and decided that a root canal could not be done and so had not sent X-​rays to Sacramento for approval.
Her office did not inform me or the referring dentist of her decision. So for 2 months my mother had no treatment for her decaying tooth. The referring dentist had to call her office and demand a report from her to include in his records.
Altogether a very bad experience.

In all my life, I have never been so impressed with a doctor /​dentist as much as I am with Dr. Tiphanie Tran.
Saying that she’s sweet and sincere doesn’t do her justice. The minute I even called this office requesting an appointment, all those years of being afraid of the dentist were a thing of the past, because of her well mannered & courteous staff. I was impressed right away with how Desiree, a dental assistant /​receptionist for the office, assisted me with my concerns, and efficiently scheduled me to come in.
The minute I met Dr. Tran, to be honest, I didn’t even know she was the dentist because she is absolutely humble, and full of life. She isn’t the scary, stereotypical, and empty ogre that just takes some x-​rays, asks you to open your mouth, and then sends you a bill. Dr. Tran is the complete opposite! She is so pleasant, and was a site for sore eyes, after dealing with all the horrible things I had to endure at Western Dental.
All I had done today was a cleaning, and for the first time ever, I’m actually looking forward to finishing the rest of my work. I’m also bringing my children here, because after today, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with any dental needs. =)
This office is a diamond in the rough.
Dr. Tran is who you need to see. I’ve been to a lot of places in my life, and trust me, this is the place you need to be.

Today Tiphanie cleaned my teeth and I left feeling so fresh and so clean.
Tiphanie’s been my dentist for the past 7 to 10 years (I lost track) and after moving away for college, I still schedule appointments with her when I’m planning on coming back.
I’ve been to other dentists and I haven’t been satisfied with anyone besides her. She has a gentle sincerity not found in other offices I’ve experienced. I’m not one to look forward to dentist visits, but it helps that time flies by sitting in her dentist chair looking out on the rooftop views and potted plants. She makes good conversation about the recent whereabout of my life, her life, and next thing you know she’s done.
