Top Tier Construction

We just finished up our top to bottom kitchen remodel with Amir and Top Tier Construction. I don’t think we could be happier with the process as well as the results. Being first-​time remodelers, it was good to have Amir help guide us through the process. His knowledge, experience and surprisingly good eye for design issues were extremely helpful. He stayed very close to the estimated price and completely on time, which avoided two of the most common remodel horror stories. All the work done by Amir as well as his subs (thanks Richard and Andy), was impeccable. Amir’s attention to detail showed in the finished product. Our house was kept clean, they all showed up when they were supposed to, and were very respectful of the fact that we were still living in the house during construction. We liked the fact that Amir was directly involved in the planning and the actual work, so nothing was lost in translation. Amir has asked to be able to use pictures of our finished kitchen on his website, so if you see them, I think you will agree that is was a «Top Tier» job

I hired Amir to build a fence enclosure around my noisy pool pump, then install some special sound dampening material from Acoustiblok. Even though this project was probably on the low-​end of what he’d normally accept, he was super responsive during the scoping out of the project and during actual construction. There were a few challenges during construction, including being extra careful not to cut any gas/​water pipes. We only had one surprise, that was the Acoustiblok installation that he originally quoted for install was a bit more work than expected, and required some genuine custom work being done. He did it all, and charged a very reasonable rate.
All in, I would definitely hire Amir and his team again, and I plan on calling him when we re-​do our kitchen next year.

Our to-​do list in 2014 was pretty extensive and we couldn’t have gotten it done without Amir. We remodeled our kitchen and are big fans of DIY, where we feel competent. One area where we knew we needed a pro was installing the new cabinets. Amir did an amazing job — the cabinets (modular, not custom), look like they were designed to fit in our space specifically. I have no doubt that this is due to Amir’s attention to detail and pride in the outcome of his work.
Amir also installed new front and back doors for us, including replacing the door jambs. Since we are DIY types, Amir worked with us to determine where he should stop and we could finish (i.e., finishing details of the trim, painting, etc.). His willingness to work with us since we wanted to save as much money as possible was awesome. His communication skills are excellent, answering emails often within 12 hours of sending them, responding to texts and phone calls almost instantly.
Amir has good guys on his team who fit right in around our house — it felt like we were having friends over (that just happened to be working). And to top it all off, a few weeks before Christmas, Amir stopped by with a poinsettia to wish us happy holidays.

After getting bids from about 7 other contractors to remodel our bathroom, I held off making a decision until getting a bid from Amir after reading his Unilocal reviews. We decided to go with him, and he did not disappoint! From the get-​go, he was extremely professional. There was follow through on each and every aspect of the project. He was always prompt and he and his crew left the project area immaculate. The thing that impressed me most about Amir though, was the pride he had in his workmanship. Having something «up to code» was not good enough. He always went above and beyond. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

After the great paint and wood repair job Amir did for us last year, we asked him to redo our 1970s kitchen during the April week we would be away. He made it happen very successfully. He ripped out the old cabinets, found and replaced old water-​damaged studs, and installed beautifully finished cherry wood cabinets (shaker-​style doors) with soft-​closing doors. Our only jobs were to pick out the quartz counter top and back-​splash tiles. His tile man did a beautifully detailed finishing job the following week. Ask Amir to see photos. I was sad to say good-​bye to the kitchen a few weeks later when we sold the house in June.

Amir and his band of top-​notch subs rebuilt our master bathroom area and we couldn’t be more pleased. We needed to remove reach-​in closets, add walls, change plumbing, add a soaking tub, add a sun tunnel, patch up a window, and fix unpermitted shoddy repair work from before we bought the house to create a walk-​in closets, a water closet, and a huge shower. Amir took the initiative to have his architect draw up his ideas for the project for us before we even agreed to have him do the job. His keen design sense and his eye for detail that we appreciate were invaluable in getting the design right and the bathroom to look absolutely fantastic. He was creative with his solutions, insightful with his opinions, and invaluable as a guide for this project.
Amir and his crew kept our house spotless throughout the job. He’s respectful, courteous, and sociable, but he respects our time and keeps on topic in our discussions and doesn’t get distracted into irrelevant details or side stories. He would come at any hour of the day working around our schedule for late night meetings. We wondered whether he had just given up on sleep. Amir did his best to ensure that any problems or issues that came up in the project did not cause us much tension as he just took care of them as they came up which was a relief. He handled the architect, the change orders with his subs, and obtaining the permits and everything passed on the first attempt easily.
He takes great and justifiable pride in his work and it shows. Unlike many other contractors we’ve dealt with, Amir puts meticulous detail into specifying his proposal upfront so you know exactly what you’re paying for. Take the time to be clear on that proposal for what you want or you’ll find yourself adding new costs because you expected one thing while the proposal clearly stated another. This thankfully didn’t happen much for us, but we had several change orders and additional repair costs throughout our project which Amir did his best to keep fair at least.
We highly recommend Amir and intend to have him work on our next renovation as well.

Amir, and his crew, did our bathroom remodel. It’s absolutely beautiful. Amir is one in a million! He has great integrity, not only as a contractor, but also as a great human being. My husband and I were so impressed with the quality and conscientiousness of this man, and of all his crew. Amir goes out of his way to do the job right. No cutting corners, everything is finished beautifully. He spent an entire day with us picking out tile, trims, doors, faucets, etc.; not many contractors would do that. Picking a contractor is a scary proposition for any homeowner, but you don’t have to worry about a thing with Top Tier, and that’s why I’m writing this for people who are considering having work done in their homes. Amir’s pricing is reasonable and fair, his work is beautiful, he keeps to the schedule, and he is totally trustworthy… what more could you ask for?

We purchased our house in April 2012 and it was turnkey with the exception of a few minor projects. After getting 3 bids on the 1^st project (demo of a separation wall in the garage), TTC came in at what we were expecting to spend and after researching an average cost of that type of project in our area, they were on point and hired.
We have had Amir and Top Tier Construction do all of our home improvements since, which included anything from rehanging/​painting/​fixing doors to a last minute bathroom gut/​remodel due to a leaky pipe. He is super detail oriented and takes much pride in his work and his company. He is also easy to talk to and will take time to explain a process if you have questions.
He uses people who he trusts and holds to his standards as well. We have had not just him but his assistant, plumber, carpet guy, painter, and dry-​waller who have all been respectful and their work has been done properly and promptly; Amir always reviews his subs’ work before he gives it the OK. He also walks you through the work that has been done and makes sure you don’t have any questions or concerns; but if you do, he is
professional and addresses them right away.
Not only is his work flawless, but his prices are very fair and you can see his work ethics in the finished product. Even when he is really booked solid, he seems to find time to do a project so you don’t have to wait months on end.
We have referred him to many of our friends who are homeowners. Highly recommended to the Unilocal community.

Top Tier really is as good as it gets! I feel like they are always looking out for me, are committed to doing the best quality work and paying attention to the little things, and have my best interests at heart. I’ve lived in my home for 6 months, and have worked with Top Tier Construction on several home improvement projects. The work is always top notch, the team is always knowledgeable, respectful and friendly, it seems no project is too big or small, and they are extremely good about cleaning up after themselves (which is not to be underrated). I can’t recommend Top Tier Construction highly enough!

My husband and I bought our home in San Jose, CA last year. Our house has great bones, but is in need of a number of updates, which we’ve been fortunate enough to have Amir and Top Tier Construction complete for us.
It’s hard to write about our experiences with Amir without gushing because we are that delighted with our interactions with him and with the quality of his work. Amir is incredibly kind, respectful, thorough, and detail oriented. He’s done a number of projects for us including installing recessed lighting with zoned dimmer switches, installing new doors throughout our home on the existing frames, framing and finishing bedroom closets, adding electrical outlets and gutting and remodeling our hallway bathroom.
The largest project, our hallway bathroom, not only began and ended exactly on schedule, but was completed with an attention to detail we couldn’t be happier with. Amir took great care in every step of the process, as did the plumbers and tile installer he worked with, and together turned an ugly, outdated bathroom into a room we enjoy. Baths never felt so relaxing! Everything is stunning and I smile every time I walk down the wall and peek in at our gorgeous bathroom.
If you want a great guy who does incredible work, you want Amir and Top Tier Construction on your job.

I had previously posted a great review but it appears the Unilocal Big Brother is watching and didn’t like my wording, so I will do this again.
Amir and Top Tier Construction did a fantastic job with getting my house fixed and repaired in 2012. I initially hired him to install a whole house fan, and after seeing how detail oriented he was and the quality of his work, I decided to hire him for another job and it just kept going from there.
He was able to do various repairs within my house, as well as install a brand new redwood fence, do all the woodwork replacement and repairs for my house exterior before it was painted, as well as so many other things I can’t remember.
Also, if there is something that he does not do directly, he has some top notch plumbing\electrical\painting folks that he partners with to make sure the job is done right
The whole time he maintained a high level of professional service and always gave a detailed summary of work after each job. I would highly recommend his company for anybody looking for a quality contractor and a high level of customer service!

First, I am a renter, so I don’t know all the details on his pricing, but what I do know was that our quote was a great price compared to what other contractors were initially quoting. But it’s not about getting the cheapest job done, it’s about quality, and Amir and his crew are the best! I had two bathroom remodels, one bathroom was so bad that we had to completely scrap everything, and Amir was very thorough in explaining what was going on, what needed to be done, what was the best, and the most cost effective way of fixing problems that couldn’t have been forseened.
It was a big project, and I couldn’t have been more happy that it was Amir there everyday, he made me feel comfortable and not invaded by construction. He is very polite, professional and detail oriented. For me the little things count, and Amir was on top of everything, he would call to confirm meeting times, call when he was on his way to meetings with us, and through the whole process, his communication with my family and the homeowner was great. He also cleaned up all the construction areas after each day.
The big things matter too, and the overall final project is beautiful! Both bathrooms look amazing, it was all so worth it! We just had a party at the house, after the bathrooms were completed, and received raving reviews on the bathrooms. I have no problem recommending Amir and Top Tier Construction. In fact, we will be seeing him again for some other projects that he is going to do for our house; I just can’t give this company enough praise, I’m a fan!!!

Had a really great experience with Amir. He’s professional, courteous, works quickly and is knowledgeable in all sorts of areas. He came to the apartment I rent and fixed up all sorts of odds and ends around the place and, as others have said, really went the extra mile. I’ll definitely be using him again for any projects I have in the future.

I was referred to Top Tier Construction by a friend from work. My friend had a bathroom remodel done by them and it came out kick assl! I saw the work and was impressed with Top Tier’s attention to detail. the his and her sinks was perfect. I only needed 3 windows to be replaced and the quotes i recieved were rediculous. When I called they sent a guy out THE SAME DAY… Amir showed up at my house on time and with a great attitude. He was very knowledgeable and educated me about many things I didn’t know about windows and overall energy efficiency. He was very respectful of me and my «non-​perfect» condo. I told him what I wanted done and he helped guide me through with ideas and prices. im not a rich guy and his prices were 30% cheaper. i had reserves because it was so reasonable.
When Amir gave me my quote he was very detailed with all the work that was included, not included, possible liability issues, and other aspects of the job that I forgot to think of but he didn’t. Compared to two other quotes I previously got his price was very fair. I agreed to the price and he started the job when he said he would.
Amir and his team were punctual and careful not to damage any thing. They laid down drop clothes, executed the work better than I had imagined, and they even finished earlier than their scheduled completion date. im a clean freak… it was perfect… didnt even have to ask him to take his shoes off in the house. Even with all the different types of work being done Top Tier still left my condo cleaner than I did! Amir was very cautious and thorough throughout the whole experience and left me with no surprises or extra charges in the end, which in my past experiences were always an issue. I was very impressed with his level of craftsmanship and professionalism and would highly recommend Top Tier Construction to any person that wants an honest, reliable, and responsible contractor or any type of construction needs. Im very pleased with the pricing and work and im proud to say my home is ready for home and garden :)
