I got recommended to this place by my Chinese doctor. I’m very happy with their service. It’s a very small place but it’s on the main road and easy to find. You might want to fax your prescription over to them before picking up though, they are usually quite busy on weekday afternoons.

This place is like a germ to me that I just discovered yesterday after doing heck of research for a few days. I am so please of both the quality and the price of the product I bought. It is a tiny store located in between the new Ranch 99 in Cupertino and the Lion Market. It is a family-owned business, the wife was a doctor. They are both from Guangzhou. The things I like about this business are: 1. They sell real Wisconsin ginseng which contains the highest ginsenosides levels, which is a nutrition most people seek for in ginseng. They buy theses high quality ginseng from a well-known company which plant and sell ginseng. 2. The price is reasonable. 3. The couples are very honest and direct. Thus it is hard to bargain with them. On the other hand, you are conform that you don’t get rid off. I used to buy ginseng from china town in San Francisco. Even today, most Chinese still believe china town in Sanh Francisco is the best place to buy ginseng because more stores there sell ginseng and the price is generally cheaper than the Bay Area. That may be true. But in order to afford to sell cheap, there are many ginseng sold there is not from Wisconsin. I will definitely come back here if I need to buy more ginseng in the future.

Went there to get my prescription filled. After reading the prescription, the boss asked who is the herbs for and give me some sweetened haw cake(山楂餅) because my herbs are very bitter. Many of the herb stores in Taiwan or China would do so for those who have bitter prescriptions. It makes me feel they follow what people do in the tradition. That’s good service. Although the honey-fried licorice root is a little bit dry because of age, overall the quality of herbs are good.

Came here because we were told the acupuncturist was good. The jury is still out on that one, but what I really hated about this«doctor» is her bedside manner. She’s extremely old fashioned and condescending. First, to evaluate you, she takes your pulse, and if it’s not throbbing strongly, then something is wrong with you, even though I know I’m healthy enough. After all, I go see my real doctor every year for my physical. So she also prescribed these herbal soups for my husband and she only speaks Chinese so she was trying to explain how to make it. While she was explaining, she talked to me as if I couldn’t possibly understand how to make the soup, and told me in Chinese that«being a wife is not an easy job” – as if I am some sort of slave! She left a really sour taste in my mouth and it’s not from the herbal medicine.
