The Swinging Hookah

We were in town with some friends who have never done hookah before. They’ve always wanted to try it but were afraid they had no idea what they were doing. This place was so friendly. They explained things to them so they felt at ease. And they kept coming and keeping the coals hot. The place was nice. Kind of empty but I call that a win for us. Not expensive but our friends had a great experience because of our friendly helpful staff! We will def come back when we are in the area again.

So not the biggest fan of hooka, but I’ve came here twice. It’s good for 10 people or 2. Fun atmosphere, lots of flavors, drinks, and good service.

I’ll admit that I’m not very experienced with hookah lounges, so I’m unsure of how great this one really is, so I’ll break it down:

First hookah lounge I’ve seen that offers drinks
Only hookah place I’ve been to where they change your coals for you
Sports/​movies playing on the TVs
Comfy couches and lots of room
Cons–
Is the décor always supposed to look like this?
Music was not good
Prices for the same items varied in three different locations ( Unilocal menu, personal menus, and chalk board menu)
Service was super slow (maybe just our server)
We tried the blue mist, which was good, but not amazing. Overall I had a good experience, but my rating is not set in stone until I’ve tried other lounges.

First time. The employees were really accommodating and helpful. Pretty good hookah but it was a little harsh

The worst hookah i have ever had. Employees dont even know the difference between tobacco brands. Get educated on what you are selling then serve the customers. The hookah tasted nasty, waste of money.
It doesn’t matter where im from i came to your establishment and wasn’t satisfied. I was on a trip and tried your lounge and didnt get the service i was hoping for and was not satisfied for your lounge. You can be hurt about it but again this shows the level of cs you and your employees have.

Favorite Hookah Lounge In San Jose.
My friends and I actually go every week. Great set up & great music. Just a chill vibe unlike most lounges that try to do the whole «club/​party» theme. I like to go smoke to relax and that’s exactly how I feel here. I’ve Been going for about 2 – 3 years now? This actually has been my get together spot for my birthday for the past 2 years after a downtown night. Favorite workers off tops are Felicia & Fernando ! Always know exactly what we want & always get us to try new things. Perfect example of great customer service !

This is THE spot for me. I love the music, the layout, and the staff are the most friendly ever! I love everything that I have ordered, and am a semi-​regular; my favorite spot in the place is always available and my friend Millie and I are always ordering teas or coffees in addition to our separate hookah. Bonus? You can bring food in from the outside if you’re there during dinner time, plus you get the happy hour discount! Great ambience and lives up to its stellar reputation (which is why it’s usually packed any day of the week after 10pm!)

Shisha: Lemon Mint is HORRIBLE. White Gummy Bear is real light and sweet. They happily switched it for us. Lemon Mint −99÷5. WGB 4.5÷5

I like this place it’s really nice and not crowded and way more roomier. I been coming to this hookah lounge with different friends and we all like it. Staff also pays attention to all customers unlike other hookah places.

My favorite hookah spot! Really good prices, and the workers are always ssuuuppper friendly and attentive. Check up on you a lot and always make sure your coals are in working order and change them out regularly. I work customer service so I know how hard that can be. I can’t remember the name of my favorite worker at the moment – she’s Asian and worked at Starbucks before! If you see this, girl, you the best. It also has more of a chill, kick back vibe than other places I have been. Comfy set up as well. Refreshments are pretty good here too!
My only gripe is please show better movies/​play better music. I’m always soooo confused and sometimes annoyed by the selections.

After a few drinks at the Continental we walked across the street and found ourselves here. I haven’t smoked hookah in years, but I wasn’t opposed to the idea. Upon walking in we were greeted immediately, was not crowded, music was good, and the staff was very friendly. We found a section in the corner that was intimate and very comfortable for the two of us. I will be back.

Got the hookah, and it was harsh. Told a worker if we could replace it, she came once. I went and asked to get some assistance and wasn’t helped at all. At the end, told me it would cost $ 20 to replace the hookah as a new bowl. Not coming back. I’ll stick to Redrock Hookah. My mistake for coming here. Just over priced and not worth it.

I came here on my birthday with friends. The place is pretty good.
But it kind of gets suffocating because it’s indoors and the smoke accumulates.
The hookah itself was good, as was the service.

A young fellow name Brandon was taking my order and was so enthusiastic it made my day.
I recommend swinging it has a great atmosphere and is not as loud as other hookah bars are.

I came here last night with a few friends and the service was a little bit different.
Seems like the person who took my order was in a rush and seemed uninterested in talking to us. I find that rude. I guess they have their days of wanting to be nice and other days, they don’t care about customer service.
Hookah was decent last night. Maybe the next time I come visit, the service and hookah would be better.

Great hookah, great environment. Servers are very friendly underneath their SEVERE case of RBF.
Recommend the spiced chai mixed with mint.

This place is WAY too expensive in my opinion. My hookah started getting harsh and awkward after barely half an hour.
I was basically BEGGING for coals and no one really ever came by to check on anything…
It took 20 minutes to get my bill after asking 3 different people. I just wanted to close out and leave and the guy told me there was a line at the cashier so it would take another 15 minutes at least. Then he brought me the wrong bill for another group and I had to wait another 10 minutes for him to come back. Probably not going back there honestly.
This is a «fun» lively vibe for a group that doesn’t really know a lot about shisha but wants a good chill/​loud place to kick it.
I just moved back here from the UAE so obviously I have high standards for my hookah, but there are way better/​cheaper places in the South Bay Area to go to.

Hookah lounges are popular in downtown San Jose, by San Jose State. Some have come and gone, but most stay.
I do think that the prices have gone up for hookah bars in general, but if you go during Happy hour (from 6 — 9pm), you’ll get $ 3 off. Which will still leave you with a bill over $ 20, more, if you order drinks, but it seems that’s the going rate these days.
The customer service was very good. I went during Happy Hour, about 7pm on a weeknight, so there weren’t many people — I can’t say about the service when it gets busy, but I had a nice time there. The woman that helped us was very attentive to our coals.
I also really liked the music there. Free wi-​fi is also provided.
The only negative (in my opinion, but I understand also from the business’s point of view) was that if the hookah was damaged in anyway they charge you $ 30. There was no inspection of the hookah, and the menu said to not touch it after it’s set up, these are all acceptable conditions to me. I did read a review where someone got charged for a damaged hookah when it was already damaged to begin with, but I don’t think that it’s a scam or anything.
They are open late. On weekends, they don’t close until 3am!
