I haven’t even been here yet and I can tell that this place is far from a country western bar. For one the flag is hanging wrong behide the bar. The owner is obviously not American. All the woman look stuck up and fake from the pics and most of those dudes don’t even know what real country music is but let’s put on we wrangles and a hat and all call ourselves cowboys. This seen makes me sick with all these yuppie Country music fans.

Went to the broken spoke with my girlfriends have to tell you we had an amazing time. We finally have a bar in San Jose that’s not totally ghetto. Super large space, live music, and a mechanical bull. Bartenders were super friendly and seems like totally cool vibe with people of all ages. We are definitely going back for my girls birthday because they provide VIP bottle service that looked totally fun. Heads up get the early cause it gets kinda crowded.

Went to a «country club» to listen and dance to country, ended up listening to hip hop, house, and rock more than half the night. If I wanted to dance to hip or house id go to that kind of club.

I have also experienced racist and very questionable remarks from their staff. It’s really unfortunate. I hope they step it up because I really like going but I’ve had enough weird experiences that I’m not sure it’s worth continuing to pay the completely absurd $ 15 cover :/ Also there are half-naked girls all over their Facebook page. Vom. Sexually exploiting women, always a winning marketing campaign. The person running the page is either drunk every time they post or didn’t pass 1st grade English and Grammar lessons. «FRIDAYNIGHTATTHEBROEKNSPOKEISLADYSNIGHT. COMEENJOYLIVEMUSIC, MECHANICALBULL, ANDTHEBESTDRINKSINTOWN.» «lottery gives you 1 in 3oo million chance you wont go to work tomrrow! alcohol gives you 1 in 5 .» «1st ever in history of Bay area NightLife. DONOTBEFOOLEDBY «MERI M» REVIEWINTHEHEADER-COVERSTARTSAT8PMNOT9PM. The good: *Good atmosphere inside. Places to sit and put your drinks. A bar on either side *A little store inside that’s open when the bar is selling cowboy hats and shirts and stuff *Bathroom was clean *Music was pretty good *Security guys were nice *Saw plenty of minorities and people of varying sexual preference and none of them got kicked out(in response to other reviews) The bad: *$ 15 cover per person, even women. Starts at 8pm! *Expensive drinks *Located in the between the old Harry’s Hofbrau and where they store excess Audi inventory *Seemed pretty dead for a Sat night when I was there

Walked in early and the person indicated they were closed and perhaps we would be more interested in a hip-hop bar further down the road that this was a cowboy place(instant insult). We had just finished work and I wanted to show a friend before changing our duds(I guess he judged us pretty quick). He walked us out and continued to remind us the theme of the place as he adjusted his virtual back to front baseball cap while reveling that he was also the owner. Take out the narcissistic self centered attitude of the kid and I’d probably give it another star.

Where to start?! Charging a cover is ridiculous. There are two other places to drink in the parking lot that don’t. It isn’t even that busy once you get inside anyway. The drinks are expensive and come in a plastic cup. There isn’t anywhere to sit at the bar. You can stand there and watch the bartenders pick at their camel toe every 10th step because they’re wearing such short shorts. So that’s fun. Dig at your crotch, then hand me a beer. Thanks. I give it 3 stars just because it’s the only country bar in the area. But I can’t see myself ever going back.

Went with a buddy after hearing phenomenal stories of this place. Sadly didn’t live up to expectations. Maybe I just need to bring a date here? Pros: –Smoking hot bartenders and servers –The band on 10⁄105 stars for them Cons: –Cash only front door, cmon folks this is Silicon Valley! Get a square. –Maybe it was couples night, or dudes night but it doesn’t live up to a single guy’s expectations –I felt like I was at shoreline. Bro-Country everywhere. I’ll go back again to see what happens. Let’s change this into at least a 4 star.

This is my absolute favorite place to go on the weekends! Not having to drive 30 minutes and pay a crazy cover to see the same band every night is a blessing in itself! Broken Spoke has a different band every weekend. When you first walk into the bar the security greats you with a smile. The dance floor is the perfect size and can hold a ton of people even if there are a few different dances. The bartenders make excellent drinks and never have I waited longer than five minutes to get my order in even though its packed. They just started serving food and I have had the chance to eat the burger and onions and I would have to say for bar food I’m impressed. I have yet to go to their Sunday football parties, but I think its a great idea and I can’t wait to partake in bottomless mimosas while watching football. Go Niners!

My best friends work friends, a gay couple, were kicked out for holding hands in SARATOGA, CALIFORNIA minding their own business. I’m sure inappropriate language was used under their breath as well. Apparently the clientele, managers, and owners here need to move up to the 21st Century and realized we’re all equals. Look up — Flaming Saddles — gays can like country music too and make a ton of money doing so. Re: Linds M — I think you just dug yourself a bigger hole with your response because that clearly did not happen. I’d like to hear about them interrupting«physically inappropriate» heterosexual couples. If you find holding hands«physically inappropriate» in front of «so many people» you’re not going to have much of a bar at all. I’d recommend putting up a signs that say«SINGLEPEOPLEONLY» «NOPDAALLOWED,» or «YOUCANONLYHOLDHANDSIFYOU’REMARRIED&THEY’REYOURCOUSIN.» Yet you go after a party that doubled the amount of people in the bar? Start advertising to your target market — the Westboro Baptist Church — but make sure you’re prepared! They’ll only be drinking red wine so stock up on the good stuff.

If I could give zero stars I would. We came here on a Friday night and it was dead. Literally nobody on the dance floor. Then after about 15 minutes they told two of our friends that they had to leave because they are gay. That literally happened in this day and age. This place is owned and operated by a bunch of homophobic morons. Good thing they kicked out our gay friends, they had to keep all six of the people in the bar protected from seeing a loving homosexuals couple hold hands. I can’t wait for this place to go out of business. People like this deserve financial ruin and more.

I’m for sure not a bar person. But we came here for a friend celebrating his graduation. We had a privet section so I’m thinking that made it that much easier for a person like me to actually like this place and have a some fun. The crowd here tho is cool… good people watching ;) and everyone seems to be in a good mood not looking to fight or anything. I was surprise by how many people were out there dancing. Loved that factor! And there was a big age rang which I really liked. We didn’t feel like the older people in the room. I would recommend this place for any country music lover. Which I am not but hey… it was still fun.

I have really mixed feelings about the Broken Spoke. I have been here 3 or 4 times so far and it seems like the cover charge is always changing. I was told the cover is never over $ 15 but that’s funny because I paid $ 20 on my last visit. It is the same price as the Rack unless you get there before 8pm but really, who goes out that early? I also ordered bottle service here and the owner was AWESOME! We paid $ 150 a bottle and the security guards and waitresses really brought their«A game.» Bottle service is now $ 250 a bottle plus gratuity and that only covers 4 cover charges. Lame! The bathrooms are always broken or flooded which is gross. They need to remodel the bathrooms asap. The bartenders that work here are super sweet. Drink prices are average. I like how they have different bands each week as well. If I am going to pay $ 20 for a cover charge, this isn’t my first choice of country bar, however, it is fun and a great atmosphere.

Came here last Saturday night for the KRTY Luke Bryan after party. We are HUGE country fans and LOVED the idea of a new country bar. It was a fun night so why not get a table right? We scored a last minute table right in front of the DJ booth and had a blast for the entire night until the end. The band was great, our waitress did an amazing job and was super fun and the bottles and buckets of beer were all on point. Those are the two stars. If the night ended here it would be five stars but that when things went downhill quick… So when did the night turn sour and why will my friends and I NEVER return to The Broken Spoke. At the end of the night my husband was paying our bill for the table and the DJ(the one who was the DJ all night Saturday) came over and starting screaming at us to pay and leave. This was 100% out of the blue! We told him we were closing out our bill with the waitress and he said he didn’t care and starting yelling obscene comments to my friends. I don’t know where this man was raised but you DONOT speak to customers like this. Not to mention we were paying over $ 600 for our bill(not that it even matters). I won’t mention what happened after that but it got bad… We all walked away from the experience wondering why on earth a NEW bar would ever allow their DJ or any staff to treat ANY customers this way. We never received a call or apology from the bar or owners. Super disappointing to not see anyone step up and apologize for the DJ’s very poor actions and customer service. Our entire experience was ruined by this one extremely rude and out of line DJ. We all know lots of people in the Bay Area, lots of people that LOVE country music and we will tell them all just how well we were treated by the DJ at The Broken Spoke.

Definitely recommend this bar for the great crowd and fun times but only if you get there early. The venue is really fun — there’s a mechanical bull($ 4/ride so cheaper than the saddlerack but hardly), dance floor, stage, and 2 bars. The line dancers & swing dancers are all very welcoming and helpful, which was great for a newbie like me! There was a live band when I went, which definitely added to the experience and made the night even better! Cover charge is free before 8, $ 5 before 9, & $ 15 after that. We got there just before 9. For $ 5, this was a really fun night. I would not, however, say it is worth $ 15. The drinks aren’t as expensive as I’d expect($ 9 for a Moscow mule), but the service was very slow. Security was reassuring but seemed a bit excessive. Seating was very limited and while hay bales add to the ambiance, they aren’t particularly comfortable. Overall, I’ll definitely be back for the free line dancing lessons at 8(and I’m really excited about it!) but this venue is only worth it if you go early while the cover is cheaper.

It’s a brand new bar in a not so good neighborhood… and they charge $ 20 cover? The Rock Bar which is across the parking lot has no cover. I get it, cover is needed. But it’s a brand new place, get your clientele going before charging ridiculous prices. Wait a year, then hike the price. But seriously, this place should only be charging a $ 5 cover. The interior decorator must have missed their deadline. The inside leaves you feeling bare. Super simple, like a town hall hosting a dance. The bar was not busy and was a let down for a Friday night. Customers’ age range was about 21 – 27. Nice dance floor and there was a good band. Bartenders were average. I would not pay $ 20 to go back.

This place is cool because it’s a country spot close to home. I honestly feel like they didn’t take enough time to fully decorate it. The dance floor and stage area is cool and the dual huge bars are also really cool. The bathrooms were not touched up; they put new flooring in, but the toilets themselves are gross and they sink is gross and the mirror is old and dirty and they had one cafeteria light in there. Considering this place is brand new they should have done something with that. My roommate(who loves LOVESLOVES country music and the whole scene really) and I went to check it out after they opening night(not soft open they had a few weeks prior) and even she wasn’t that impressed with it. The prices of the drinks were not consistent, we got the same drink every time and each time(3) it was different. They also are only open Thursday-sat and they charge a cover every night. I think that’s ridiculous. You have rock bar right across the way and they don’t even charge a cover, UNLESS there is a show. I was not too impressed.
