Swirls Frozen Yogurt

Living down the street, we go to Swirls a lot because it’s convenient. But that’s the only reason to come here. The place is dirty. The toppings are never in stock and are often stale. The seats and tables are often broken. I often hear the owner complain about other yogurt places opening, but by the way he runs this place he doesn’t seem to care at all.
Pretty disappointed that he doesn’t put in more effort, as I really want to give local Almaden bushinesses my support. But he shows no effort.
Clean up, get your toppings in order and fill or remove your cases.

My children and I enjoy being customers of Swirls. However, everytime I go there… the smell of «bleach» is overwhelming! I am glad the business values cleanliness; but the ratio of bleach to water needs to be re-​examined.

My sister lives close by and I’ve gone here quite a few times. I love the cookies & crème. I also like the small kiddie sizes (comes w/​1 topping).
Swirls is by far the very best frozen yogurt I’ve had in the south bay. It blows away Yogurtland and Willow Street Yogurt. The owner is super friendly.
They are currently remodeling and will soon offer self-​serve frozen yogurt (still open).

Delicious, environmentally conscious, and great service. Love the tart yogurt mixed with blueberry. The biodegradable everything they use here is great. The owner is super sweet and always makes every customer feel at home. My little sisters and brothers love this place, and after visiting it, I see why!

BY FAR, the worst frozen yogurt I’ve ever had… AND, the worst shop I’ve ever been into.
You need to teach people how to cup the froyo. I mean, it was completely amateur. Dripping all over the place.
Ask if we want lids BEFORE! Jeez.
The toppings were minimal in selection and application.
Oh, and I’ve never heard of crunchy rainbow sprinkles… guessing they were stale, but man, they were gross.
The flavors were bad too.
All in all, I wish I could give 0 stars, but it’s not an option.
You guys need to clean that place up pronto. This 4 ½ star rating is complete BS.

I’ve been here a few times.
Cookies and cream is the best flavor.
Service is always good and real kid friendly.
Price might be a little higher then I like, but its fine to pay once in a while. Only Yumi Yogurt tops this place.

Really gotta love the Cookies and Cream flavor here, but I did get a bit of sticker shock from the $ 7 price for a family size (approx 2 pints). I know that the price probably comes from the fact that you can get away with charging that much for sought-​after flavors which are fat-​free to boot.
Still makes it hard to justify spending that much. Really good stuff though!

Closest known spot is in LG… do I want to deal with the parking? Heck NO!
Solution…Swirls… we got on Unilocal and found this little spot less than 10 minutes from our house in a random shopping center with tons of parking.
First thing I noticed when we walked in was a fridge full of Froyo mix. Immediately I thought — cool I can make it home… wrong! This is the stores supply (kinda weird to have it out on display. shouldn’t that be in the back?).
We tried a bunch of flavors and I ended up with the cookies and cream. It was good, almost too good — I was thinking this can’t be non-fat…it’s too creamy and flavorful. Well, I hope it is cause we will be back.
Don’t come expecting the usual wall of toppings. They have very few to choose from but I guess you don’t need them with Froyo that tastes so good.

swirl’s is very small, some would say cute, shop. for me, it’s feels cramped. swirl’s is just a counter and the froyo machines immediately behind the counter. there are only a few tables to sit at within the shop. it’s brightly colored to draw the young gnats, er, kids in.

My significant other and I went to Swirls after having too much Chinese food at another place. I wanted to show him that there was a Luckys down the road from our house.
As we were driving around the plaza, we noticed swirls. I wanted dessert so I demanded we pull in. The owner was very nice and friendly. We tried out some flavors, but then noticed the «CASH ONLY» sign, but the owner was really nice and said we could have the froyo now and come back with cash. He said that surprisingly people are good and they do come back with the money.
We both thought this was a bit weird, but refreshing when we chatted him while eating our yogurt. He even did «Office Space» impressions and told us the story of his place and even asked about our lives. Really? Is my life that interesting to tell to a random stranger? I guess he will not be a random stranger anymore.
Now, to the yogurt, certain flavors were sweet and almost like ice cream (ie the cookies and cream), but there were tart flavors like the strawberry tarte I had. My hubby had a Heath bar based yogurt, which was good, but not for me. We didn’t even have to get any toppings to make it taste good.
After we were done, we did come back with the money and paid for our yogurt. I would come back because it’s nice to have a mom & pop type store with good yogurt since there aren’t many on this side of town.
I will come back again, perhaps even today…

Since moving close by our family goes almost weekly to this place. The texture & taste is better than any frozen yogurt I have ever eaten!
I LOVE the Butterscotch yogurt… my husband is a big fan of the Orange-​Vanilla? and my daughter loves just vanilla/​choc mix.

We live around the corner and on a hot day there’s nothing better than hopping on the bike with the kids and heading over to get some frozen yogurt from Swirls.
Very tasty and the service is always great. Their chocolate yogurt is excellent and the kids love getting the Vanilla with all sorts of toppings.

I think this is one of the best I’ve tried and will definitely miss it! I had the chocolate yogurt and I love it. Strip mall location and a quite little area I was just starting to get to know.
The guy that was behind the counter loves what he sells and that makes him cool!

Tried this place today for the first time with my sister, it was just alright for the both of us. We have both tried many different fro-​yo places, and found this one to be moderate at best. The prices seem to be a little on the higher side and the place is very small, probably one of the smallest yogurt serving places I’ve been to.
Had got the alpine vanilla and «tart,» probably also known as original flavor. And mine was sweet and almost like vanilla ice cream. Sadly, I probably won’t be coming back here to try any other flavors. Something about the flavor of the yogurt was just not right for some reason. It was a hot day, and that might have interfered with how the machine was working… I don’t really know. Solid 3 stars.

Swirls is an excellent stop for quick healthy cold treat. The mini size is great for kids and won’t break the bank. We’ve been visiting ever since they opened and the staff are always friendly, and the flavors fantastic! Quality is consistently top notch.
With the variety of flavors changing daily, you can’t help but stop in for a taste of the latest yummy flavor!
The only negative I can add is that they don’t accept credit cards, but since Lucky’s is in the same lot, its not a problem (just get cash from the ATM first).

I am quite pleased with my boyfriend for suggesting we come here!
It is perhaps yet another of my new favorite frozen yogurt spots.
It’s located in the Almaden Valley Plaza with the Lucky’s. A small location. I almost wish it was publicized more because the yogurt is sooooo good!
I never thought I’d find a better place than Red Mango, Tartini, or Cefiore but this place almost beats them! I need to have a taste test of all of them at once to really decide. But so far it’s way up there. FYI I judge the yogurt place based mostly on the taste of its tart yogurt.
The service is friendly. As mentioned in another review, the owner is an ex Silicon Valley techie who has gone froyo! We had an interesting talk with him concerning his yogurt obsession. You can really tell from the taste that he did indeed choose the best yogurt milk mixes. You can actually see them in the fridge. His contain live yogurt cultures (as does Red Mango’s). We learned that soon California law will be changed and places who call themselves frozen yogurt will need to have yogurt cultures.
Good prices. I got 2 pints for 7.50. Flavors are all very rich and creamy. No watery or artificial tasting froyo here! They also sell Vitamin water.
4 stars because this place has so much potential. Perhaps the owner doesn’t want to overwhelm and wants simple high quality yogurt. But it would be neat if they also sold other healthy snacks and drinks.
Peanut Butter is delicious! They usually have about 4 – 6 flavors. Fresh fruit toppings, etc.
Sizes are mini 3oz, small 6oz, medium 9oz, large, extra large, and the 2 pints. Sugar and waffle cones available as well.
Bonus points for being eco-​friendly and using compostable cups (weird they are made from corn but look plastic!)

Dare I say… their Alpine Vanilla frozen yogurt is better than McDonald’s vanilla ‘cream?! Yep, the boyfriend corroborates my claim. It’s low-​fat (doesn’t taste it), has amazing flavor, and despite being soft serve, still has a crisp freeze that makes it all the way home. Service is friendly, and prices aren’t as cheap as other places, but the taste definitely makes up for it. Even their tart yogurt flavor tastes better than those trendy by-​weight shops popping up everywhere.
What I especially love is the serving cups. They aren’t made of styrofoam (booo!), but rather environment friendly recycled corn. In addition, the cups fit perfectly into your car’s cup holder and even comes with a lid for taking home. This places really rocks…
I would just suggest more seating inside the store, and possibly more toppings. I think they are cash only, I can’t remember.

I am so happy this place opened; once upon a time this shopping center had a ‘Big Scoop’ ice cream shop, and when I was a kid my parents would take a family walk and we’d all get ice cream. Now that ‘Swirls’ has opened we can once again have a sweet treat to eat on our walks.
There are different flavors every day; so far my favorite has been the Tart. It’s a simple yogurt flavor, the «basic» flavor I think. There are also a variety of toppings you can add; peach topping and tart yogurt is WOOOOOOOOONDERFUL!
In addition to the yummy snack, I love the atmosphere. The owner is really nice and can be quite chatty, so it’s always fun to drop in. Swirls hasn’t been open for very long but it already feels like part of the neighborhood. Way cool.

This place is great. Usually, I feel pretty guilty about eating ice cream, but after the owner explained to me how healthy his yogurt was, I said bring it on.
The yogurt is non-​fat and taste really really really good. My girlfriend swears by this place. It’s located in the shopping center with Albertson’s in it.
The owner of this shop is an ex-​silicon valley techy who was tired of the techy grind. Now he is a friendly yogurt man who likes to chat it up and shoot off jokes. He’s a really good guy and his personality is a definite asset to the store.
The prices are very cheap for the amount you get. I think this store is headed for big things. Everyone should try it!
The hours usually are 11 – 9 on the week nights or 12 – 10 on the weekends.
