My Service Dog ~ AKC LIghtning Jack Sparrow ~ and I had just moved to the Palo Alto area after living on Maui for 20 years. We had spent the past 9 months being «gypsies», staying with friends, sleeping on couches, etc. While I’m an adult with really good coping skills, the Sparrow was beginning to show signs of deep distress ~ being hypervigilant, barking, not «minding» when given the «COME!» command, etc. I put out a request for dog trainers on Unilocal, and Lillac responded IMMEDIATELY and told me her rates and how she would work with Jack.
She came to my house, and took and extensive history in order to understand what had been going on for Jack (and me as well!). She was such a calming and nurturing person, that both of us felt instantly better just being in her presence. She was able to totally understand what was going on, and right away offer us some simple variations on our «routine» (like HAVING one in the first place!) that would decrease Jack’s anxiety about having to be the Pack Leader.
Lillac is a warm and compassionate person. Her interaction with Jack was calm, respectful, and individualized just for him/​us. She reassured us that all was not lost, and that we could make good progress and changes with just a few minor tweaks. It was stunning to see how quickly Jack was able to learn from her, and how quickly the dynamic between us changed which put him at ease so he didn’t feel so burdened with trying to be the Pack Leader.
Lillac is just as amazing as Ceasar Milan, even though she would defer from that compliment. Worth EVERY cent of her fee. Jack is much happier now, and we plan to continue working with her so that we can bring out the best in one another.
You will not find a better dog training expert than Lillac. She is AWESOME! Results are instant. She really knows what she is doing, and Jack just LOVED her!

My family adopted a year old rescue dog with severe separation anxiety a few months ago. Our vet referred us to Lillac and said «She’s the only trainer I recommend.» Lillac and her colleague, Mary, are miracle workers! Lillac is supportive, informative, patient, and teaches the big picture as well as clear steps to take to put dogs at ease and become obedient. She is flexible, too, helping us do things our way when we need to, while still pushing us to make the important changes. Our dog is barking waaaaay less when left alone, no longer jumping on us when we come home, and pulling on the leash only when she just can’t help herself (she is, after all, a puppy!) Lillac is especially gifted at bonding children and dogs– the training has made a lovely impact on our daughter as well. Highly recommend!

Lillac saved our lives… and our dogs. I was lucky enough to find the man of my dreams… unfortunately my two dogs and his two dogs had yet to meet. Joey, my fiancé’s Jack Russell Terrier, was not so good with other dogs. And my two dogs, Scruffy and Petunia, had been shuttled around from house to house until we eventually moved in together. I was BEYOND scared to introduce Joey (and my fiances other sweet old dog Abby) to my beloved pets. Lillac came to the rescue… she worked with both sets of dogs separately with the eventual mission to introduce them. Joey still had a LONG way to go, but we could not wait any longer. Lillac took Joey to her house for 3 days of boot camp. He came back a different dog. What she did was a miracle… all the dogs sleep together, eat together and play together. We are ONE big happy family. I cannot recommend Lillac enough. She is calm, patient, loving and just has a way with dogs (and people).
