The mission of St. Stephen’s Parish Preschool is to provide a loving, nurturing preschool based on Christian values, enabling children to grow and develop socially and congitively in preparation for kindergarten.

History

Established in 1978.

The St. Stephen’s church community has been an integral member of this neighborhood for over 35 years. In 1978 this church opened its pre-​school, St. Stephen’s School, which eventually became independent and expanded to provide pre-​school through 8^th grade educations to thousands of students through its 30 year history.

We are the proud forebearer, and now the successor of that rich tradition of education and caring for our children. Indeed, we join with you in celebrating our children’s future.

Meet the Manager

Fr. Ken W.

Manager

Father Ken Wratten has been the rector of St. Stephen’s in-​the-​Field Episcopal Church since July 2002. He serves as Head of School for St. Stephen’s Parish Preschool. Prior to his serving in the church, he worked as an electrical engineering consultant with clients in the US and Europe. He has served on several diocesan committees, including the Commission on Ministry, the Board of Trustees, and the Diocesan Finance Committee. He also served on the Indaba Project, an international program exploring effective ways to build improved communications across language, cultural, and racial lines.
